  1. I have tried 2 different ways of spacing of the wicks. First attempt was around 1.5 inches apart the second was around 1 inch apart there is no smaller wick than a CSN-7 that is long enough. They have a CSN-5 but it is only 1" long so that wont work. I have been talking to someone that uses the CD wick series for glass glow so i ordered a sample pack of that series to try. if that doesn't work for me i will attempt rrd at that point.
  2. I just got my order. Of the 4 bottles 3 seem decent oob but 1 was not what i expected. Of these Cedar, blackberry, honeysuckle, and oven baked apple pie all but cedar smell pretty good oob but cedar i had to smell a few times and never could tell it was cedar. To me honeysuckle smelled just like what we had growing in the backyard of our old house.
  3. Posting it in here as well as my original post. Started test burning with dual CSN 7 & 9 wicks both had full melt pools in 2.5 hours or less. I found that no matter the size of wick i can't wick the 4" apothecary jar to do what i want with CSN wicks the best one that allows the wax to glow like it is meant to is the CSN-16. I will pour more test candles with CD wicks this weekend

  5. Is tacky wax reusable and also were do you get yours from?
  6. lol I recently kinda just jumped in head first and bought 4 pounds of oil from the candlemakers store. I might regret it later but I paid 53$ shipped for 4 pounds of oil so i couldn't pass on it since ii was a special price. i figure if 2 scents are good i still came out on top.
  7. I bet I feel for her. I can't believe i did not think about copyright on it. Especially after talking about copyrights on fragrances and all on here. It should of been obvious.. For what i would like to do i would need 2 of the 8 capacity most plus a couple of single molds. But in the end I could make due with 1 it would just be more difficult to do it.
  8. Correct the person that makes those molds is not making the same molds everyone else does. The ones i was looking at are ones that they sculpted into clay then make the molds from the clay they sculpted as well as all molds are made upon order rather than mass produced. Some are fairly costly but man the detail this person put into the molds is astounding. After more looking on the site i found a 8 cavity mold the only downside i saw was the 58$ price shipping included.
  9. This topic can be removed if possible due to copyright issues i was not smart enough to think about. again thanks for pointing that out to me.
  10. you have a point there i had not thought about the copyright issue. thanks for bringing that part up. I will refrain from making my own mold. i wish there mold had higher amaounts of cavities as what i wanted to do the one cavity is not enough. back to the drawing board.
  11. I found a single cavity mold online i want to use. I am looking to make a multi cavity mold using this shape. My issue is that i have no clue what i can use inside the silicone mold that will hold the shape when i go to pour the silicone to make the mold. Does anyone have a good idea on what i can use as well as a decent place to get the silicone used to make the molds.
  12. Honestly I have not gotten to the point of using them in wax yet. The only one i have in wax atm is blackberry that i put in some tarts for my dad but they are not ready to use just yet. I ordered 13 and oob they all smell really good. I have been busy wick testing so have not gotten to use much in the way of fragrance just yet. There are a couple that the scent is a little faint on but since it is not in wax i don't know how well it will do. I was ordering a wick holder from them so i ordered fragrance as well to offset the cost of shipping. Shipping cot me the same with and without the fragrances. Not to mention I only actually payed for 9 of them due to the deal they have on there site for buying 13 fragrances. The only downside i saw with there fragrances is that they fill them themselves into bottles that do not have a seal inside.. So when i opened the box it smelled of dragons blood. The dragons blood did not spill but they apparently got some on the bottle and it made the whole box smell like that. 13. I ditched soy a month or 2 back, lol tho i didn't go to the dark side i went to the pretty light side (palm)!
  14. My mom had to ask me the other day if her wax melts still had scent to them as she could hardly smell them..I had walked out of my room and smelled it before i got to her room. She asked me again 2 days ago and i told her that it was finally loosing scent. She has it on for so long at a time she goes nose blind to it till she leaves for a while. This is also another thing i had to explain to her as at first she thought they weren't lasting to long.
  15. Currently I am using 3 companies. Lonestar: glass glow palm wax, wicks (testing CD Wicks), and fragrance oils. Bittercreek Candle Supply (BCN): fragrance oils. Candlescience: dye (testing), wicks (testing CSN wicks) and wick stickers. I have some fragrance oils coming that may add in another supplier or so depending on how i like them.
  16. If you buy a kit one thing to consider is if you wanna use jars or tins.
  17. Looks like i might have to make my own mold for tarts for my mom. can't find a decently priced mold for either butterflies or hummingbirds. so i will look at buying a single mold i found then using it to make my own multi cavity mold.
  18. Yeah if you leave one on that long no matter who makes them they won't last all that long.
  19. I always forget that Walmart has the warmers in 2 separate areas at my local store. we have candles in the front of the store and air fresheners in the back and both areas have warmers. So next trip there i will look at both areas again.
  20. the only 2 fragrances i can remember liking from there is apple cider donut and pumpkin pancake.
  21. Can you actually use the tart clamshells for palm wax melts? Cause everyone of the clamshells i find claim a 160 pour temp. I dont mind making special shaped ones for my dad or mom but i don't really care what shape they are since they will be melted anyways.
  22. the only tart warmers i can buy locally are the edison ones by scentsational. trying to figure out if one of those would work good or if i would need to order one online.
  23. I am curious on what type of tart warmers people on here use for palm wax tarts. I am looking to get a tart warmer for my room and am not sure what type would be best for palm wax melts. Any info is appreciated.
