  1. They make some really nice looking molds of this type but with the wax i use It would not be possible to make it look correct. that is the down side to palm wax. Plastic molds wont hold up well to pouring it as hot as you need to get get the great crystallization of palm wax.
  2. would love to order more oils but i have enough atm. lol i don't even have enough wax for the oils i currently have either. I guess that helps me stave off buying more oils even with the discount.
  3. I ordered a CD wick sample pack from Lonestar recently and poured 3 testers last weekend and had no issues so far with them. I usually give them a decent pull to make sure that the tab stays stuck and doesn't pop loose on me before i pour my palm wax into the jar.
  4. I tend to look at the fragrance notes as well as the description to gauge if it is something i might like. I have only bought pound bottles once. I bought 4 different fragrances in one pound bottles of those the one pound bottle of cedar fragrance oil was a miss. I am not sure what to do with that one as i can hardly get a cedar scent from it at all I mainly get other wood scents from it. It only cost me 12$ tho so even if i don't use it i didn't loose much.
  5. There are a few more molds i am trying to get the maker of to increase the cavity amounts of since they only make the mold in one cavity molds atm. trying to have them make a 6-9 cavitiy one will post pics of those tats if they can make the molds for me.
  6. Personally i prefer paint.net for most of my image work tho i don't need anything fancy since i hardly mess with photos much. It is simple to use which i found a plus. tho if you really wanna do some fancy things gimp is the better option.
  7. You would need to open them in a program like paint, paint.net, gimp or any other photo editing program and shrink the size of the image in that program. More than likely you camera uses a high resolution so the images file sizes are fairly large. I shrink the image down roughly 25% at a time till the image is small enough to work. I also do it in increments like that so i can tell if i am loosing to much detail. There are probably other ways to do this but that is how i go about it.
  8. The sale was posted on there site on the main page were the image changes showing different information. The problem is most people don't stay on the main page long enough to see the image change to the sale one. lol i just happened to stop on the main page for a minute while i was doing something else and came back and saw the sale while it was going one.
  9. Thanks i appreciate it. I just showed them to her and she absolutely loved them even my dad thought they were really pretty. This mold helped to show off the color variation of the glass glow wax i am using to make these. sadly i can only make them 6 at a time atm. I didn't want to buy more than one mold without testing to see how well they worked.. Each tart weights between 6-7 ounces. I was wrong on the cost of this mold it was only 27$ tho even 33$ would of been worth it for me.
  10. I just received a mold i bought to make tarts for my mom today. I absolutely love them, I think she will love it when she see them after she gets off work. My camera skills do not do them justice. Well worth the 33$ I spent on the mold. This was the first batch i made for my mom scented in cinnamon stick.
  11. Green is my favorite color but the issue i had with it is that on the left tree the right side almost completely blends into the green label for me that wass why i said red was my pic. lol contrast in colors helped me see the complete tree on the left side. I am partly colorblind so that is why it blends in for me.
  12. love the labels. I tend to prefer the red label but they are all really nice. Love the bango reference on the label.
  13. Even for wick testing i wait a week just to make sure. I am not in that big of a hurry as i am doing this more as a hobby so I can afford to just take my time.
  14. 1. Technically you could do half candles but for palm i prefer to pour a full candle so i can tell if it will clean the wax off the side of the jar properly towards the end of the burn. 2. Regardless of how much you pour into the container i would wait 5 days before burning. Burning it before it cures properly will cause it to melt more wax than it should due to the wax not fully hardening like it needs to, and in the process you might think that it is not wicked properly when in reality it might be properly wicked.
  15. From there site it looks like they make there own fragrances using soybean oil as the carrier oil. Honestly i still would not trust them in the least. Cause 11% seems a bit high for a supposedly 100% soy wax. I could be wrong but lets face it too many people like to claim they have the best smelling, all natural, and healthiest candles out there and most are just blowing smoke and feeding off people ignorance of candle products.
  16. I have done the flip method 3-4 times so far while testing different wicks wicks. Usually in 2-3 candle in each flip. So far i have only had 1 mishap and that was just me being impatient. I also tip mine slowly over and i also rotate it a bit so as to try and find any weak spots before i fully flip it. Do so while gradually turning it upside down more till i have fully flipped it.
  17. that looks about like how my flames were on my CSN wick tests and i always had them trimmed to 1/4 Inch.
  18. I have been letting it cure for a week before testing. Palm wax needs time to fully harden/crystallize otherwise when you go to burn it it can melt the areas that are not hardened properly up to fast and can cause you some issues.
  19. CSN wicks have a tall flame that is just a characteristic of the wicks.
  20. Lol I was meaning this to be more of a let people post there wax of choice. That way it gives people that wanna start making melts different options. Some of which might be wax they already have and didn't think would work good for wax melts. my bad for not making that part clear in my original post. I ment this to be like the soy and soy blend post in the veggie wax section.
  21. I bought a silicone mold yesterday that was fairly cheap but that one sucked. Could not get the tarts out of the mold at all. in the end i had a container full of little scented wax pieces. that mold is now in the trash. I know it wasn't the wax as I used another mold i had on hand and those popped right out. Ohh well the mold was only a dollar.
  22. yay something else to look at buying soon lol. haven't really thought about need respirator.
  23. I need more molds for tarts as the only one i have is the penguin one i bought for my dad.
