If i had to guess i would say if you added coconut wax to it and used the same wick size as plain c3 you would probably be need to test different wick sizing as the coconut wax might have changed it enough to cause issues. I am rather new to candle making but that is what i think is the issue.

The only one i have used so far that i cannot stand is candlewic's maple bourbon brioche. just making the candle gave me a massive headache for over 5 hours. I wont even burn the candle. I gave one to my mom to give to someone she works with and my dad will burn one downstairs sometimes and i can smell that thing in my room so i close the door so i dont get another headache from it. Candlewic''s smoked ginger isn't the best smelling either but i think it might not be bad if i cut that one back from a 6% fo to maybe a 4%, but since i used it all i will not buy anymore just to test it at a lower fo %.

They also have what they call dye snibbles that i am curious about. They claim that only .025oz per pound of wax will dye your candles to a very deep shade. If no one has tried either of these dies i might have to order some of each to try out and see when i have to order more wax.

Has anyone on here tried the flutter dies from candle cacoon. Some of the shades seem close to colors i would be interested in for candle making. Also you can supposedly add more chips per pound than most other dye chips without clogging the wick. It seemed like a good alternative for diamond chips since some of the diamond chip colors i was looking at in diamond chips are out on several sites. I ended up buying dye blocks because some of the ships were sold out, and flutter dies would be a lot easier to use since they are already for 1 pound of wax from the start.

Ok i saw they were 22 but i based it off of the to the fill line capacity not the overfill capacity. I might be thinking wrong on that but they will still work for what i am gonna use it for. personally i like the looks of the candles more if the wax doesn't go up the very top. But i can see were candle makers would consider that a 22 oz. It looks like Lonestar used the fill capacity count for the country comfort and used a capacity amount that it doesn't even show on the page for the libby storage jar.

Are these the Apothecary Jars you are looking for. They are the ones i just ordered along with my wax. shipping with 10 pounds wax and a few other things was only $24.19 and i live several states away from there. I ordered a dozen jars with lids. Not sure how there jar prices compare to other places but the shipping was the best i could find.

Yeah i found that after i sent them an email questioning about wick sizing. They gave me a wick suggestion of CSN 14 and 16 for my size contain. Then i found a bit of info on here in the tutorials section, for glass glow palm candle layering which gave me a idea on wick sizing for dual wick if i need to go that route. thanks for the info i do appreciate all the info you all have shared with me.

Before i decided to try glass glow i looked at the Candlewic container palm but shipping was more costly than the wax. I ordered a 10 pound sample of glass glow from a company in texas which is probably just as far away and the shipping was less than half the cost. If i like how it works out and want to buy more my only concern is does the wax go bad? I only make candles for myself currently. so even tho it is cheaper to order 55 pounds at once i don't want to do that if it will go bad before i end up making all of it into candles. Hopefully next Tuesday i can start single wick testing in my 4" jar with potential to end up trying to double wick if single a wick doesn't work out. Am i correct in thinking that the glass glow holds 6%, i have seen 2 different sites with different %'s one claims 3% the other is 6%. Thanks for the wax instruction info as well as wick suggestions. The information was greatly appreciated.

thanks again for the info i really appreciate it. i have not attempted to double wick anything yet since i have only made 3" tins. i will attempt to single wick my candle first then if that does not work i will work on trying to double wick after that.

i am also considering trying out 16oz mason/canning jars as well. The apothecary jars were bought to use for soy before i started reading about how inconsistent soy wax is at the moment. The apothecary jars looked nicer to me but if there is a easier to wick jar in the 16 oz range i would be willing to change jars. Seeing as i bought apothecary jars locally and i should be able to return them if a better jars is available. Sadly i could not edit the previous post to include this as i waited to long i guess.

Thanks for that info. i just thought of another question. Is it really viable to single wick palm gg in a 4" 16oz apothecary jar or should i be looking to try and double wick the candle instead? I am rather new to candle making i have only done about 12 tin using C3 that i got as a kit. So i am not all that knowledgeable yet but am trying to absorb all the info i can. Since i know there are a few people on here that mainly use palm wax i figure this is the best place to find the info i am looking for as my searches online have not really helped me much.

I have also noticed that several companies that sell the same wax have different directions for heating and pouring some say heat to around 210 and others say 160 so which one is actually accurate?

I am getting ready to order some glass glow from lone star to test. I am curious on if anyone that uses glass glow has used it in a 4" apothecary jar. I have read that csn wicks tend to work best but cs does not have a wick size listed for a 4 inch jar. I plan to order the wick sample kit but am looking for a idea on what wick to start with as a test. Or if there is another wick type that would be better for the wax?

I just started candle making for myself and have been looking for a different type of wax other than soy since it is so iffy at the moment. I have been looking at palm wax recently and would also like to hear some about it from people that use it.

I was looking at a few sites that has it listed and a couple of them show 10 pound options for sale. From what i saw both candle science and lone star candles have 10 pound options and the candlemakers store claims to have an option for 1 pound bags as well..

I am rather new to candle making and want to use natural waxes rather than paraffin ones. With reading all the issues that people have been having recently with soy wax being so inconsistent from batch to batch, has me looking for a different natural wax. What is everyone's suggestions? I am not making candles to sell but to burn myself. I am looking to get some info on different natural waxes from various users because i am on disability and can't really afford to order waxes that are known to have either inconsistency issues or just problem in general. I did search some on the forums for something like this but i was not able to find anything.
