  1. well i took a chance on those 4 fragrances. Figured 53$ shipped for 4 pounds of FO was worth the risk
  2. Has anyone tried any of these? I have them in my cart just can't decide on if i should hit the buy button.
  3. wow there is some nice deals on there. There is 4 fragrances that (edited) that i would be interested in if i knew i would like them. Cedar, blackberry, honeysuckle, and oven baked apple pie. So tempted to buy some of those.
  4. If you don't want to use them you might be able to sell them on here to someone.
  5. yay i can just use wax i will have on hand for making normal candles then.
  6. Yeah the CSN-16 give the candle a top to bottom glow the entire burn which some people like. I still wanna test to see which way i prefer it. plus the other issue is that if fo changes and requires a wick up that is not possible from a size 16 so regardless i need to test dual wicks. I am thinking of also testing CD wicks after this as well.
  7. After i use this crap wax i will order some feather palm with my next glass glow palm order. I think i will like the feather palm more for the tarts. I have a little army of penguin tarts atm. Dad has 27 of them and i still have more to make. In the end there will be roughly 75 penguin tarts. as these use roughly a quarter of an ouce per tart. I got better pouring the tarts with the second batch I made. Now to order another 2 mold so i can make 1/2 pound batches. I do need to find me a good tart warmer now tho. as i will most likely make myself some tarts in a different mold later.
  8. no this was using really crappy crystal pillar palm from hobby lobby was lazy and did not wanna return it. so figured i will just make tarts out of it. I thought about trying with glass glow but the problem is i don't think it would come out of the mold as easy since it is a container wax.
  9. I wait till i feel no heat at all in the candle before i flip it back over. Can't say as i have waited 2 hours to flip mine. I keep a close eyte on the top shell and flip it as soon as the shell is sturdy enough that i can put a tiny bit of pressure on it without it giving.
  10. yes i am. especially since they don't charge me for rent or food. i do help out at times when money is tight for them so it does balance out a little bit.
  11. i completely understand that. i am on a fixed budget so i don't have that much money to spend each month. Being legally blind really limits what i can do, i get less than 800$ a month and that can go fast when buying candle supplies specially fragrance oils. luckily for me i am doing this as a hobby so i can afford to take my time in buying fragrances to try out. I am also llucky that my parents let me live with them as i need transportation since i can't drive.
  12. Figured i would post this here as well just in case someone looks at this post and not my post. The wick test for the size 16 CSN was a failure for cleaning the jar. It did use a good amount of wax and has probably a 1/8 or less shell left after the final burn. So for a single wick you would need a 18 to cleanup all the wax from the jar. i found the melt pool depth to be around 1/4 inch or so the entire burn. In 2 more days i will begin the dual wick testing with CSN 7 and 9. The 16 will work if you don't want all the wax to be cleaned up off the sides of the jar. A CSN 18 probably would of been perfect but for whatever reason we do not have the CSN-18 for sale in the U.S. They only place i can find the size 18 was a site that ships from somewhere around China. So onto dual wicks.
  13. bulkapothecary's more expensive fragrance oils are really only gonna benefit someone that needs 25+ pounds of oil as by that point it is under 90$ a pound

  15. South Seas Fragrance Oil lol they claim that .5oz will do an entire gallon of unscented bases for Bath and body products and that most other companies need 1-3 oz for that same gallon but that does not mean a 133$ price tag. LOL these wax melts run 25$ for 6 melts.
  16. holy cow that is not the most expensive fragrance i just found one on there 16 oz - $133.00 that is stupidly ridiculous. why would anyone buy that
  17. What type of container should i store these tarts in while they are not being used. Is a Ziploc a bad choice? Also what is the cure time for the wax in tarts if there is anyone else making tats with palm wax on here.
  18. It might have something to due with the factory fires which are causing shortages in certain ingredients that are used in the fragrance oil.
  19. lol i made 27 tarts out of 5.3 ounces of wax. each one is roughly .225 ounces. I used a full lavender chip in the 5.3 ounces as i did nothave anything to make a darker purple in my was chip sample pack. wish the purple was a darker shade than it actually is. I need to buy 2 more of these molds as trying to make smaller batches than half a pound is to annoying to do.
  20. Yeah he really liked it when i took one downstairs to show him
  21. ok i tested one and they were ready to be removed so i removed them all. Here are the unmolded ones. came out pretty darn good. Lighting makes them look bluish for some reason.
  22. I just poured some palm wax tarts for my dad. My question is this how long does it take on average to cool the wax enough to demold them. First time making tarts. My dad wanted me to make him some blackberry tarts so i bought a candy mold to use. He has no idea what the shape of the tarts will be as i have not told him and he is not in my room to see the mold so he will be surprised. I got a penguin mold since he loves penguins. I screwed up on pouring a few so they look a bit crappy. These are the tarts.
