  1. It's a very logical question. It never hurts to ask.
  2. I moved to AZ in 2006. I ran out of the old tarts I made about a year and a half ago. That wax is no longer available. That re-started me down this path. I had several pounds of FO in the original packaging that I had placed in ziplock bags (to catch any oils that might seep through the plastic bottles) and put into a box in 2006. I had a few that had gone bad. I had a few that had started seeping through the plastic bottles. Most of them were as good as the day I'd put them into storage in my closet, including some in plastic bottles.
  3. Most are petroleum based oils with synthetic fragrances and a whole other host of other chemicals. I vaguely remember trying fragrances a decade ago made with soy-based oils, and my notes support that there was practically no throw--your mileage may vary, and things may have changed since then. If you're looking for something more natural, you'll need to go unscented or essential oils. Something to keep in mind is that most waxes are highly refined...including soy. The exception to that is unrefined beeswax or tallow if anyone really wants burning cow fat with a wick.
  4. My understanding is that if the address of manufacture isn't listed in the phonebook (Who uses a phonebook?), that the full address should be listed on a label somewhere. If it can be found in the phonebook, the city, state, and zipcode should suffice. It's been awhile though, so someone else will need to confirm that I'm remembering correctly.
  5. Has she tried a different browser? Logged off and cleared cookies and cache? Is she mobile or on a desk/laptop? Not a computer person, but those are the usual suggestions.
  6. EF - Thank you for the reply. Is there a floral/rose undertone to it? Something in my olfactory sense is broken, and I interpret most synthetic peach scents to smell very similarly to cat urine. This is one of the few scents that actually smells like fruit to my defective nose. I was super happy with it OOB and in wax...if it were only stronger.
  7. I've tried it mixed with 3 or 4 different waxes, and I'm still not satisfied with it. I'll eventually find something, but it's taking a lot of time and resources.
  8. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing much hot throw. I've mixed it with 415, and it's marginally better, but not by much. I've added universal soy additive--I think it's better, but it could simply be wishful thinking. The only two fragrances I've tried that have blown the doors off are Candle Science's Coriander & Tonka Bean and The Candle Maker Store's Chocolate Covered Cherries. I've had to scale back from 1.5 oz per pound to 1 oz. That's out of 70 different fragrances I've put into wax. Most have been very light throw with a few with a medium throw. It's struggling even with Candle Cocoon FOs, which is absurd to me. I'm currently blending palm with the PB instead, and I think that may ultimately be a winning combination, but even thought it's RTSPO (I forget the acronym) sourced, it's still going to raise the flag for some about rainforest habitat destruction. EDIT: I are grammEr.
  9. Rather than hijack another thread, I thought I'd start this one. I am absolutely in love with this fragrance. It's delicate, feminine, and everything I love in a scent....except it has a pathetic hot throw in Ecosoya PB. Do any of you have suggestions on where a similar FO can be purchased, but with a somewhat stronger HT? Thank you all in advance.
  10. Please let us know how it works. I'm looking for an alternative to the Ecosoya PB.
  11. I'm really glad you asked this question. I've been having problems with HT with EVERYTHING I've tried from Lonestar. I've also been struggling a bit with the Ecosoya PB, so I couldn't decide if it was the wax, FO, or both. I bought so much during their sample sale, and I haven't found anything that really works for me. I think the White Nectarine and Pink Coral is absolutely GORGEOUS. It's a beautiful scent. If I could just find it elsewhere in a format that would throw in my wax, I'd be excited.
  12. I haven't worked with either program. Could you set up a vendor/customer named "TESTING" and using that account to separate your testing costs? I just stumbled across this, and I'm genuinely curious about how that might work.
  13. You're 100% correct. That used to be standard advice for first burn. Then as the bottom of the jar approached, those same people were frustrated with inch deep meltpools.
  14. Others will likely have a different viewpoint... Way back in the day when I was doing this for real instead of relearning, if I hit full melt pool on my first burn, especially under the four hour mark, it typically meant I was over-wicked. First burn, the jar typically didn't get hot. However, as it burned down into the jar, the jar began holding more heat. The lower it burned, the more heat the jar held, which meant the meltpool would be significantly deeper than it should when I was at the half-way point on the candle. Your mileage may vary, and your situation may be different. However, that's what I experienced back in the day.
  15. I *like* the first one better. However, the second one would allow branding across multiple products with the same mark. You don't want flames if you venture into bath bombs, soap, etc.
  16. I wouldn't use them. Then again, if the jars were made outside the US, I'd be curious about the lead content (and other nasties) in the coating/paint used to create the mercury finish and what would be released by heating it.
  17. So pretty. I only made a few HP batches back in antiquity, and I'm always in awe of how nice everyone's looks.
  18. Tarts, tarts...more tarts. I have more sample FOs than I do common sense.
  19. Thank you for sharing. I've never used anything from Lonestar, but I just bought a *lot* of samples...and a new pour pot...and sampled one of the palm waxes...and...and... I need to stop looking at sales.
  20. I went back in and quoted it again. All sample sizes. I added a few extras. I have more in the cart than I did during the sale. I could only get shipping to $26.00. Maybe they had a rate hiccup? It's a shame, as I decided it wasn't worth the shipping costs and chose to not buy at all.
  21. I've never used their oils, but I have made my list. Shipping to AZ is around $30...so I think I've convinced myself to try 80 samples to make shipping worthwhile. I haven't bought yet though Am I going to be disappointed with their FOs? Are the old KY FOs the same quality they were a decade ago?
  22. Kathleen got with me this morning and is awaiting info from her supplier. It's always tough when you're awaiting info from someone else to make sure you share correct info. I'm excited she's taking the time to get real answers vs half-hearted guesses
  23. Their phone number is still active, but I missed them today due to work schedule and timezone difference. Thanks for the input. They used to be raved about, and it's just interesting how times have changed.
