  1. Millcreek has several items that interest me. I sent an email almost a week ago, and I haven't heard a peep from anyone. I know everyone's busy...but is this typical for them?
  2. Hi there. Lots of helpful folks here.
  3. I can't emphasize this enough. Notes, notes, and more notes. I was away for a very long time and just found the CD with my labels, spreadsheet, product photos, website, etc. There are literally hundreds of tested fragrances that I disliked, and as I looked at my wish list, a few of those old fragrances were on my list to try from the same supplier I disliked the first time.
  4. I'm really curious about this one. Anyone else tried it?
  5. My past experience is that if I add the FO at a temp below 180 some of the heavier/thicker oils were more difficult to fully incorporate and I had occasional seepage. I did mix at lower temps with some of the light oils, just for grins and giggles, with acceptable results. If your oils are genuinely burning off at 180 (and it's not a wicking or wax issue), I'd find a similar FO from another supplier that will work with your typical pouring methods/temps. That reflects poorly on the quality of FO being provided to you.
  6. Great to know I'm not the only one, albeit a longer break on my end. Scented, I think I remember your username from way back in the day--yours is the first I've seen that I remember.
  7. Great info--thank you. I'd found Elevance in a search. I found reference to it being an 85/15 mix, but I was unable to locate information relating to acceptable/safe fragrance load. I'm waiting for the weather to cool so I don't receive a melted puddle of wax at my doorstep, and I think I'm going to explore both that and the IGI palms to see what works for me.
  8. For now, I'm looking at melts and votives. I've dug through my notes and think I've found my own solution...along with HTP and cotton wicks, tart molds, and a dozen other things I'd forgotten I own. Thank you, and big hugs for the replies. I do appreciate it.
  9. Thank you, Candy. I appreciate the suggestion of the state supplier list. I've been doing a lot of Googling instead of using Fragrance Finder, etc. I've been testing sample FOs for the past year, but I just couldn't get motivated to do package design, etc. Last night I finally found the CDRs (yes, not DVD...CDRs) that have all of my old labels, website layout, professional product pictures, etc. I'd put hours and hours and hours into that stuff. Literally hundreds of hours. I'm so completely stoked that I procrastinated and didn't restart them. At this point, I just have to do a quick Photoshop logo change. I like the labels just as well today as I did a decade ago. So, so, sooooooooooooo happy this morning. (I sound like a kid instead of a 40 year old woman. Ha!)
  10. Thank you!! I'll take a look after work. I had forgotten about Nashville Wraps.
  11. There we go. I knew I had a picture of old product somewhere. THOSE bags.
  12. After a decade-long hiatus, I've picked up tart making again. I remember when Candletech was a new forum. Most of my old suppliers are gone. Many of the old wax companies were absorbed and renamed. It's a completely different world now. I have all of my old notes and supplier notes, but they're now obsolete. I'm a noob all over again.
  13. Hi there. I'd been away from candle and soapmaking for a decade before I couldn't fight the urge any longer and picked up the hobby again a year ago. I have all of my old notes, burn times, etc. Too bad most of my old suppliers no longer exist. I've tried half a dozen different waxes, and I'm struggling to find something I like as well as the old At Wix End pillar/votive wax. If I recall correctly, it was a vegetable wax that had a crystalline finish. It was proprietary, and I *think* it came in pastilles--Wix Wax? My gut tells me that it was a blend of palm and soy, but I obviously have no way to confirm that after Jenniffer closed shop. Does anyone else remember this wax? If so, what did you find that was an acceptable replacement? I've tried several soy pillar/votive waxes and they just aren't cutting it from a hot throw perspective.
  14. Hi, folks. I'm hoping that someone who was active way back in the day will know what I'm talking about and will have suggestions. I'm a bit frustrated and am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. Long before Rustic Escentuals acquired many of the KY Candle Was Supply fragrances, KY had a plethora of tart packaging. My absolute favorite was a clear polypropylene(?) bag with a drawstring that held 4 or 5(?) mini muffin sized wax melts. I have Googled until my fingers are ready to bleed, and I can't find a replacement supplier for those bags. I'm sure they are abundant and plentiful, but I'm at a loss. I just can't find the darn things. Any old timers willing to point me in the right direction?
