  1. I was at the farmers market today buying beeswax + talked to a seller that had one. he LOVES it - he said no hidden fees + raved about it. I think I'm getting myself - got nothing to loose .
  2. thanks Candybee Lebermuth has some great prices on EO's. I also saw a FO called pink salt + waterlily that sounded interesting . They said i can order some samples first if i want + honestly, I don't mind paying the $20 fee if i don't meet their $300 min especially if its good quality. It looks like they run a top notch facility + that costs money to run and I'm fine with that
  3. Hello all Have any of you used FO or EO from either of these for candles or wax melts ? I tried searching old posts but only saw lebermuth + patchouli reviews and Nurture soap had posts about micas so I'm thinking the FO from Nurture is mainly for soap ? If so, any recommendations . Thank you in advance
  4. I really like OldGlory 's idea of multiple unit pricing . During Christmas i do wax melts in glass jars like your describing - people really like that, especially for gift giving. Your inspiring me to try EO wax melts again - Where do you like get your eo in bulk + how do you gauge how much EO to add since its different than FO ? One more question .... how does one know they are getting a super high grade of lavender - i learn so much from all of you TY
  5. Thanks so much ! Ive been wanting to try the premiere wicks.
  6. iluvsoy may i ask what size premiere wicks you used .... tangerine peach sound awesome ! have you used a good lemon type scent from them? thanks in advance
  7. No, i don't think your out of line in the least bit. may i ask what EO's you have success with ( peppermint -lemon etc) i just didn't seem to have any luck with getting a scent throw. what I've been doing with wax melts is not pouring + packaging in plastic clamshells. I know they're easy/practical but i just don't care for them - thats a personal preference for sure. what i do is pour my wax in small molds + them package in 5x7 cotton muslin bags. melts can be stored in the bags - i like that its eco friendly. i get my drawstring cotton bags in bulk from uline - you get 200 bags for about 68-$70???
  8. Vicki great advise _ Saves the day lol ! Lumina, i bet that scared the crap out of you, i know it would of me lol ! please keep us posted
  9. These are absolutely gorgeous ! Looks like someones been busy
  10. talltayl thats so true. I can tell you horror stories of some boxes I've received from sellers + was amazed some of the things arrived undamaged.
  11. Personally , i feel that direct mailing / postcards etc are not effective imho . most people, including myself don't even look at mailers - they go straight in the trash. may i ask what it is that you sell, is it just candles ? i think it would be more advantageous to do social medial such as instagram - i know several people that have an all natural /organic bath n body line + the amount of sales reached in a short time is commendable. their target audience is typically under the age of 38 + that age group follows instagram - FB etc not snail mail. i apologize if i came off negative but I'm just giving my opinion
  12. Have you ever infused oil with coffee, its great for sugar or emulsified scrubs. Now it is grainy but i / others don't mind that. For christmas i made a coffee /white + brown sugar scrub - that oil i infuse for about 3 months + it smells AMAZING ! if you want you can add a touch of CS vanilla hazelnut when making the scrub i also like BB turkish mocha or expresso fo . I made some for my sons teacher + school staff ---- they LOVED IT !!!
  13. I don't mind at all .... i buy my beans on ebay or from beanilla https://www.beanilla.com I'll use a whole jar CO from Trader joes + I put several beans in there - a minimum of 6 but i chop them up after I remove the "caviar" from the inside . I throw in all in the jar + put that jar in a sauce pan of gently simmering water - SUPER low + just let it go for hours 2-4 +. Some people put it in a crock pot or in the oven at the lowest temp - 170 ? I've done that too but just prefer the stovetop method. i take off heat let harden + do it one more time the following day then when its done i let completely cool + seal for a week or 2 - then i strain with cheesecloth and put in a new sanitized jar. have you ever tried vanilla infused sugar - so good . i make that + extract as christmas gifts. I start my extract in Jan/Feb + you need a lot more than 2-4 beans like they show on pinterest
  14. ok now shipping is something i do know quite a bit about lol ! from i can see in the pics the USPS boxes look too small - to me anyhow. personally, when i ship anything fragile, being glass - china etc I ALWAYS wrap in bubble wrap first . you actually don't want things so tightly next to each other, or they can shatter if/when they get any impact from when they throw boxes. USPS now also offers a "Special Handling " service - but you pay $10 per box . That box is handled with care, meaning its never thrown. Something to consider. Unless your doing a small shipment i would forgo the flat rate boxes and do a box within a box method still using bubble wrap . Then take your individual boxes + put those in a larger box with peanuts. This is a very safe method - sure maybe it costs a bit more up front but the way I look at it is - much cheaper + less aggravating than having to reimburse + wait for your insurance money+ you look much more professional Fed ex insures the first $100 you can also use UPICK for 3rd party insurance coverage. Also - its very important to pack properly because weather its USPS or fed ex they want to see photos - just like any insurance claim made - ultimaltey its the senders responsibility to properly pack the items - if they don't see them wrapped correctly - they can say "we're not covering the claim " Sorry for long shpeel hope it helps !
  15. Thats what stopped me from buying from AH before was the shipping its really not worth it unless you have a larger order. Peak - SC Filmore is MUCH cheaper I hope Moonshine sees the post of the apples + oats
  16. I agree , CS strawberry shortcake is great + like Candybee said - Spot ON !!!!
  17. You can but be aware that the little bits of vanilla in the pods do come loose into the oil + it takes quite awhile to get a good infusion. You can try doing a super long LOW simmer with the oil + beans over the stovetop. I do that with coconut oil + vanilla beans - its awesome plus your house smells amazing. Have you tried the natural vanilla oil from MMS ? https://www.thesage.com/catalog/products/Natural-Vanilla-Oil.html
  18. Shipping is very expensive - especially heavy large boxes . As I'm sure you already know larger boxes get hit with a surcharge - both by USPS + Fedex etc as others mentioned you should maybe have accounts with UPS + Fedex since you'll receive a small online discount but you need to be 100% certain on the dimensions + weight your plugging in - last thing you want to happen is the customer to be charged for the difference - imo . Call fedex or go to a location on a not so busy day when they can spend some time with you familiarizing you with cost + your best options. In my personal experience I found that when I'm sending to opposite coasts with more weight etc - fedex is a better way to go. I choose ground - which from mi -ca thats 4 business days also be aware fedex + ups DONOT deliver to PO boxes - also - if you ever ship to Hawaii etc thats VERY expensive . what is the average weight + box size you send - are you East or West coast -
  19. great information guys ! I picked up a few pointers I didn't know about - thanks for sharing !
  20. thank you your soap looks so nice id love to one day get around to making it
  21. I've never made that but just did a quick google search lots came up. looks like they recommend a pillar type wax on the rustic essential site looks like fun !
  22. PERFECT analogy ! Come to think of it, a few weeks back I mixed some BB oatmeal milk + honey i had left - about 2 oz maybe with a 3 capfuls of CS Macintosh wow it smelt amazing + but wondered if I added too much apple .... two days ago i smelled the bottle + the apple is much softer, so I think I'll add some more. i just love the oat smell with the apple
  23. can't wait to try it all out !!!!
  24. Jane I could totally understand why your freaking out you mention that you utilize a bedroom in your house, talk to your CPA, I know your able to use a portion of your rent/mortgage, which ever applies to you as a write off since it's used as a business work space. Same goes for a portion of your utilities - business internet gas or mileage - again however you have it set up - for to - from shows - traveling for purchases etc - copy paper - ink etc for computer - labels , you get the gist but it can be nerve wrecking
