  1. Same here I like WSP goat milk lotion I didn't care for their body body + the silky lotion was ok too ... i didn't care for the drag heres another one to look into , i thinks they carry some of the same stuff Aquatech has ??? http://www.bathbodysupply.com/Tropical-Butter-Cream-p/cl2000-5.htm
  2. Thanks so much moonshine and lisajo... i greatly appreciate your response can't wait to try it
  3. dandytea88... I know I have seen the same base once but i can't remember the name What I do remember is that they were located in Ohio I know they are the same because the ingredients were identical as well as the name . Do a quick google search for body butter bases. If I find it I'll let you know How do you like the bases you received, do they have a drag. I find many bases have that drag when rubbed in, i don't care for that. although the goat milk + honey lotion base for WSP is pretty nice.
  4. Sorry GOldieMN i just saw the type of wax you said you used
  5. Thanks Candybee , I will Have any of you tried the citrus spruce - orange pekoe tea - oatmeal or sugar cookie . Im so glad I gave them a chance - SUPER impressed ! Thanks again for posting about these. It also doesn't hurt when the company is so helpful + courteous oh and i want to try the cocoa therapy + coconut too lol ! GoldenMN + Candybee, may I ask what wax you used ? Thanks again
  6. Wait .... you made a M&P from scratch ? Man ... your good lol ! btw , the embeds look great, love the color !
  7. Im no pro by any stretch of the imagination but heres what I think. You either need to hire people or find a company to pour/ label etc. I know there are some high volume candle makers on Etsy that are small batch companies, but not sure how they do it ?
  8. wow ! really a great list, so greatly appreciated ?
  9. Im super excited to get my order from Mad Oils. I also ordered the vanilla milk fragrance , it had great reviews. I'll let you know how it is I so badly want to try my hand at CP soap again, maybe over the summer I'll try again.
  10. Thanks for the encouragement Puma .... pros always make it sound so easy Your examples give me a good starting point though Plus I love all the scents you referenced !
  11. I also asked Candle Science that same question - they told me to add at about 180 so the wax will bind. She said the temp of the wax will drop when you add 1 oz or so of FO.
  12. Back2basics I agree ... Im new to the forum + candles and can't get over how wonderful everyone is.
  13. OMG - precious ! do you make cold process, Ive been sticking to melt n pour, my cold process soap... well, didn't turn out so well lol ! It really is a science. Im going to try again though, Im determined. I just ordered samples of micas from mad oils - how are they ? have you tried the FO either for soap or candles ? BTW ... the colors you used are spectacular !
  14. First off, thank you to all who have posted about favorite suppliers + FO's ! I've never ordered from Filmore before and was so pleasantly surprised ! The packaging was superb - glass amber bottles that were bubble wrapped + packed with lots of peanuts + shipped within 1 day The iced lemon biscotti is fantastic, smells like a delicious lemon sugar cookie + the daffodil is so fresh ... I typically don't like heavy florals but this OOB is lovely Next time I think I'll try the Christmas tree - citrus spruce - mulberry bush - cocoa therapy - nutmeg ginger - coconut have any of you tried these ? Well, thanks again !
  15. Thanks so much Puma I promise as soon as I get some made I'll share the pics... i can assure you they won't be near as nice as yours it really is fun though, isn't it ? I wish I was better at blending scents ....sigh
  16. You mentioned glory 6006 ? what is glorys is it a vendor to buy candle supplies ? Thanks
  17. Trappeur I know this is an old post but they have 2 birthday cakes - which one are you speaking of ? Id love to try it how does it compare to others you've tried ? Thanks
  18. Just curios, if using 4794 for melts do you or should you be adding an additive such as vybar. If so, why ?
  19. Moonshine may I ask why you didn't like the PB alone ? Im only asking because Im new to all this + I'm trying to learn This is such an amazing site, I just love all the support you all give each other Do you have a blend that you think throws really well. What I don't like about paraffin wax is that super waxy look, the soy looks so pretty but it doesn't make for the best wax melts
  20. wowza !!!what a great job + such a awesome tutorial ! That was very kind of you - i know that took time to post all of that Im pretty new to candle + tart making + I have to admit, it's addicting lol ! I have both the IGI 4794 + IGI 4625 - do you recommend using both @ 50/50 or will the 4794 alone do? If you don't mind a dumb question lol ! how do you know what scents to blend + at what amounts? Im still in the learning stages so Im not very good at blending Also does the 50/50 blend melt easily? Thank you in advance
  21. Candybee I think you'll love the blood orange , its so darn good
  22. Great List + choices ! I really LOVED the blood orange too - smells amazing ! Has anyone tried it in wax tarts ? The apples were amazing too but the Mcintosh is my favorite - so crisp and realistic they probable have some of the best FO's I've smelled - so true and realistic. I love the grapefruit mangosteen but get a HT The garden mint smells EXACTLY the the mint i grow but when its crushed.
  23. Thank you for responding Your right, it is subjective . I'll take your advise and look thru some old threads.
  24. Hello everyone ! What do you folks recommend to add to it, if anything and also what temps do you typically add FO at ? Id so greatly appreciate any advise you can give me as Im fairly new. Thank you in advance
