sharyl55 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I got in my coffee FO samples and have been playing. Here is my 1st MC Vanilla Hazelnut Mocha. J223 / soy mix, 1 oz FO, CD12 wick. Awesome cold throw but not much hot throw so far after burning it for 2 hrs. with a MP little over 2/3 of the top. Also testing Wicks Wares Fresh Coffee. OOB fantastic but no cold throw and not much hot throw. Not sure how I screwed that one up but where there is a way I seem to be able to do it. Quote
mystical_angel1219 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I just want to jump into my computer and drink that bad boy! Look sooooooooo realistic! Nice work, Sharyl. Quote
Scented Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Looks great, but bummers on no major throw yet. Quote
Kaybee23 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Looks good enough to drink, very nice! Quote
Donita Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 No kidding.....my mouth started watering. It just amazes me at how real it looks. Are you sure it isn't? "TT" Donita Quote
geekrunner Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Great looking candle!! I had one using MC soy, MC Hazelnut Cappuccino in a clear glass coffee cup and it smelled great, but looked very plain. Yours is verrrry tasty looking!geek :grin2: Quote
jenniejr Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Ohhhh I want one! NOW!! That looks great Sharyl. Hope you can get a good throw soon. Quote
Sherie Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Looks awesome! Makes me want Starbucks I had the same problem when I mixed J223 w/KY Pure Soy. Try it in plain J223 and see how your throw is before you discount the FO. Quote
quietgirl2004 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 VERY nice. As realistic as it gets hun. Good job Quote
Tara Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I don't drink or even like coffee but that looks good enough to drink Quote
nayarx8 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 sharyl, u did an OUTSTANDING job! its perfect! makes my coffee mugs look sad and pathetic compared to yours. Quote
sharyl55 Posted January 14, 2006 Author Posted January 14, 2006 Thanks for your kind words. I have been practicing whipping wax. I added the soy to cut down on wet spots. Pulling these wicks and will try a low smoke 21z. Next one will be straight J223 and the heck with the wet spots. Now to find a cheaper source for these cups. Can't afford the $2.49 WalMart charges. LOL BTW I used Peaks liquid Coffee dye and think I got the perfect color.PS But you have a great hot throw Linaya. I have a long ways to go with these. Thanks for the tips and head up on MCs V-H-M. Luvcandletarts2 Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Looks yummy. I have a sample and hope it throws for me. Quote
LauraInNY Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 That looks really great! I think the frothy top and then the whipped topping makes it. I've seen alot of these without the froth and they just don't look as realistic. Have you tried the dollar store for those glass cups? Quote
Mtngrl Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Sharyl, FO issues aside (& what a bummer that must be!!!), that looks divine. I don't even like coffee, but I want that! Great job. :highfive: Quote
