  1. Every FO I have tried from them has been fantastic in soy wax. In soap I have tried Black Raspberry and Vanilla and J&J Bedtime Bath, both were great! (CPHP)
  2. I have quite a list, but off the top of my head.... Peaks Fireside Any Cucumber Melon Cinnamon Hot Cocoa Blueberry anything!
  3. I received my order of these this week and they are fantastic! I love them:grin2:
  4. I have had two different people tell me it was acting up for them. I can get in fine though. Good thing is when it goes down, it normally is working again pretty quick! :smiley2:
  5. Cranberry Marmalade is fantastic in soy, one of the strongest FOs I have tested:)
  6. http://tartburners.com/pltabu.html Not sure if they wholesale them, but they have quite a few:)
  7. Another vote for Just Scent's Baby Magic-smells like the real thing, also The Candle Source J&J Bedtime Bath is awesome!
  8. When I asked about the best leather FO on the board a month or so ago, it seemed like Lonestars' leather was the favorite:) Haven't tried TC...sorry.
  9. Just a tip, when you get them, count them to make sure you received the correct amount. The last few orders I placed with them have been short, sometimes 2-3 of something, sometimes 5-10. Just a heads up.
  10. Yes you can do parcel with Paypal shipping. I do like Paypal better because I just add in the weight and the extras I want and it is done:)
  11. I agree with this 100%, I really don't want to lose my house or have a lawsuit, I have kids to think about. Plus what type of reputation would my business have after a lawsuit or fines? Thanks to everyone that responded, it makes me really happy with my decision to sell all of my B&B supplies over the weekend in the classies and just stick with my candles and tarts. Maybe another year or so of testing and I will be satisfied with my FO choices.
  12. My favorite thing to use as a pouring pot is the largest size glass Pyrex measuring cup, it works great and it is heavy duty.
  13. Is this link for all states? Or just FL? I had no idea that the labeling had to be a certain size. :tiptoe:
  14. That is what I am afraid of, I do not have a dedicated room for B&B, and I really don't want to be open for them coming to inspect at any time (even if I had a seperate room) I am so glad I am not the only one nervous about being caught. :undecided Your idea of the freebies is a great one. I am still not sure how to go about this all, but I know I don't want to register and I am not going to sell a full line of B&B, it is just not worth it. I really hope soap doesn't count as a cosmetic because it is addicting to make, much worse than candles!!
  15. Here are a few of the things from the site.. (e) A cosmetic manufacturer's permit is required for any person that manufactures or repackages cosmetics in this state. A person that only labels or changes the labeling of a cosmetic but does not open the container sealed by the manufacturer of the product is exempt from obtaining a permit under this paragraph. c) The fee for a cosmetic manufacturer's permit may not be less than $250 or more than $400 annually. (5) In addition to the fee charged for a permit required by ss. 499.001-499.081, the department shall assess applicants an initial application fee of $150 for each new permit issued by the department which requires an onsite inspection. (6) A person that is required to register drugs, devices, or cosmetic products under s. 499.015 shall pay an annual product registration fee of not less than $5 or more than $15 for each separate and distinct product in package form. The registration fee is in addition to the fee charged for a free-sale certificate. (7) The department shall assess an applicant that requests a free-sale certificate a fee of $25. A fee of $2 will be charged for each signature copy of a free-sale certificate that is obtained at the same time the free-sale certificate is issued. It goes on and on--I just love how they have it with drugs!
  16. I thought that also, but have found out (and the site backs up what the county told me) that unless you buy it wholesale already packaged, labeled, etc (meaning you never even open it) you need to register it. So we could buy a product line from another Candletech B&B maker wholesale and then sell it ourselves, but we aren't allowed to make it or even smell it LOL!! What I would love to know is how closely it is regulated? If you go through the license search on that site, there really aren't too many registered. So I am thinking that most people are flying under the radar. I would say just keep doing what you are doing if it works for you. I know that I have had several people testing the BC lotion base for me for months and I will keep it to sell to them, just people I know. The only reason this even came up for me was because I wanted to rent space this fall at a local craft mall (Thurs -Sun indoor market, open year round) and they need my info from registering otherwise I can't sell B&B there. Tax ID wasn't enough. They said just candles, tarts, soap that kind of thing. My understanding is that FL is the only state with these regulations...it sucks! :undecided Thanks for your help
  17. Can anyone in Florida explain how to legally sell B&B and or cosmetics. Here is the site that lists the rules and fees... http://www.flsenate.gov/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=Ch0499/titl0499.htm&StatuteYear=2004&Title=-%3E2004-%3EChapter%20499 It appears to me that it would be not only expensive yearly but also a bit of a hassle (being open to inspection, testing etc) Has anyone applied? Or are most flying *under the radar*? I know we have several members here that are in Florida so any help would be greatly appreciated:) Also, am I correct in thinking that soap is not considered a cosmetic and not regulated since it is washed off? I would love to keep at least one product and I am addicted to making soap right now!!:tiptoe: Feel free to pm me if you don't want to post about it here. Thanks!
  18. Peaks is my favorite for honeysuckle also:) Smells just like the honeysuckle in my yard!
  19. Yep, I agree KY's is fantastic...although I have not tried BC Vanilla Velvet.
  20. Have you tried the Almond from Just Scent? To me it is a straight almond:)
  21. Yep:) Check out this thread! http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17835
  22. Thats what I figured, especially since I didn't have to pay shipping!
