  1. I sprayed a clear non glossy paint where I wanted my acrylic paint to stick. Worked great.
  2. Hi. Donita here. Just want to see what all of you have been doing.
  3. I keep mine in the dark. Haven't been making many candles for the past few or more years. I had some left from several years ago and was sure they would smell rancid. They don't. My essential oils are in brown bottles. I just got a new bottle free from Candlewic with my wax order. I smell Apple Peel now. I just poured twelve chunk candles. Donita
  4. Hi Manolis. Very pretty candles. I was thinking about you today and even mentioned you on Facebook. I am moving and will have a candle studio again. 5. If anyone would know.... .......... you would Julie. For regularmarbled candles CandleKitty was a huge help. I would tell people to search the archives since we all put our 2 cents worth in years ago.....and I LEARNED so much from YOU. My husband died in Feb.......so now it is time to start a studio again. Of course I will go back and see what you have been doing and refresh my mind. I think I forgot how to make candles. (not) I did order 200 lbs of regular pillar was from Candlewic many months ago.......Yippee. I heart wax. Donita

  16. Oh my.....I just checked in today and saw your candles. I am sooooooo happy that you taught me how to do that years ago....but I haven't made anything fun for a long long time. But.....I have 200 lbs of wax just waiting for me to find some time. Those layers are to die for. The colors are outrageous. I think I just might have to make some and save them for Christmas presents. I have been doing chunks for a customer and they get boring.....but I saved your pictures to give me inspiration. Thanks for posting the pics. Seriously....it actually gave me a little chill since I haven't been feeling very artistic or crafty lately. Husband has been in two hospitals and now in a nursing home. Going to go visit him in a few minutes. STRESS doesn't = creativity. Love love love your candles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Donita
  17. Hi my friend from Greece. I just replied to your email. Have missed seeing you here. Hope you are doing well. Donita
  18. Very cool. I made a few huge candles and people bought them. I talked to a man from a wax company and he said the bigger the better. He made some that weighed 100 lbs. I was never that brave.....or crazy. Donita
  19. Pam is right. That works. Also after pouring in your wax....wait a few minutes then hold a color chip against the top edge for a few seconds or a minute. The color will drip down the side creating streaks. If that isn't the look you are going for there are other techniques. Search this board. There are many talented people here posting pictures for years. Good luck! Donita
  20. This is what I had to do over the years....even with small damage you have to start over. Sorry ): That's the name of this game. Donita
  21. Cool. Corgradulations for getting in with Wholefoods. I looked into it years ago and they have very strict rules and they must LOVE your candles. Way to go! Donita
  22. Very nice. The bright light is a good thing. I love hurricanes. Donita
  23. The average person doesn't know much about how to burn a candle. I think the average person looks for the cheapest. Only those that do it often see the difference. I think I have burned more for testing that I have done for my own pleasure. Seriously. You don't get very far in life if you don't "practice, practice, practice". That's what my mother said and when I grew up I learned what that meant. (smile). I have power burned and watched what the wax and wick did. And I burned one hour per inch diameter of candle. I make notes. Sometimes I forget what I have done so I check myself on this board and read what I said years ago.....(smile again)......I still forget things. So much to learn......and remember when you lose your notes. Donita
  24. Yes.....pretty blues and welcome to the addiction. Seriously. I get excited when pulling a new candles out of the mold. Can't wait to see how it looks. Donita
  25. Really pretty. I love those candles. Donita
