  1. Nearly every online seller who sells wax has recently jumped on the sugar scrub bandwagon. Most are simply using foaming bath whip base and sugar. Well, and SO MUCH color. I would think that true bath and body product sellers make theirs using their own recipes.
  2. Yes. That was my experience. It caused me to wonder if they are consolidating manufacturers. As in if the delays were matching scents with a single supplier. I hope that none of the oils are different in any way after such long delays. This is nothing like I have experienced in 4 years of buying nearly monthly from them.
  3. I hope that is the case. I am now only waiting on one. For me the answer that "they are in production and will be here in a week" was then 2-4 weeks later on some. I was contacting them each week for an update. My biggest concern is if the delay is because they changed something.
  4. I have been consistently buying from them for about 4 years and have never, ever experienced this with them until this summer. Out of oils I needed (5-6 different oils at a time) for weeks! Now, once an oil comes back in, I am buying 4-8 pounds of it as I have a set scent list and cannot just sub out for something else. Customers have been buying the product for nearly 4 years and expect that it is the same order over order. They put me in a very bad place this summer.
  5. It is the best Greeting Card company in the world, so likely the same one! With a 1 year old? You should have plenty of time, money and sleep-hahaha!! Too bad. I'd buy plenty of wax from you!
  6. HA! No, thanks. You start one and i will be your first customer! In addition to my now nearly full time wax business, I have a 30 year career with that "little" Greeting Card company here in Kansas City. Consider me at or past capacity!
  7. Yes, these last 3 cases have not required me to dig cardboard out of the wax before using. I wish we had a full wax supplier, like a Peak, NG or Candle Science where we could pick up things, smell new fragrances and really have a resource beyond a distributor. May have to just be happy with this if it continues to work out for me.
  8. They are simply a distributor for DPS/Saco. The main facility in Illinois runs more like a typical wax supplier. Yes, the wax price is a bit higher but it is still far less than paying for shipping. I was paying $125 or more in shipping each order. My boxes are also in better shape. My cases that come to my door are typically dirty, broken in some way and wax is falling out of the corners. I wish the wax I picked up was manufactured more recently but I read and read last night about paraffin wax and unlimited shelf life. The consistency is exactly the same and the packaging is exactly the same as what I have gotten for years from Peak and Candle Science.
  9. Only after breaking down a couple of cases of the wax did I notice that the slab paraffin has a manufacture date which is a few years old. Makes me nervous but I have read that paraffin has an indefinite shelf life. It certainly seems no different than previous cases of the same wax which I store in big Rubbermaid bins. One bin is now full of the wax I picked up yesterday but the other bin is now a combination of the wax I picked up yesterday and the wax I had in use. Hope that I have no issues. Especially now that I commingled them before seeing the manufacture date. My order is not shipped there from Illinois to fulfill my order. They must keep my wax on hand. Once I place the online order, I call and can arrange pick up right away if if works for me and them. I'll continue to order from them unless some issue arises.
  10. I thought you may have further questions. HAHA!!!! Here is a link to their website so you can see if they have your waxes: https://www.dpswax.com/products/store The cycle shop is climate controlled. The warehouse/storage unit is not climate controlled but is surrounded by frozen food company's storage so theirs stays in the 80's, they tell me. The owner of the bike shop's dad had the wax distributor business and the son decided to keep it. When I arrive, my wax cases are sitting near the door and the rest of the store and shop is all motorcycles and associated parts! CERTAINLY nothing like any of the wax supplier's warehouse pics and videos I have seen. VERY unconventional. That said, I appreciate having saved over $150 in shipping!
  11. Here is my update! Shortly after my post I ordered 1 case of each of my 2 waxes and went to pick them up. The photo shows where I picked them up! No problem, just not what I expected. There is a story why they also distribute candle wax. My husband and I work for the same large corporation and I was not certain if I would have to load the wax up for myself so took him along. He is a car and cycle guy so he was happy! Their overhead door storage unit/warehouse was in a larger building next to this smaller building. They were kind enough to have my wax waiting in the cycle shop each time but I do have to go at a set time each pick up. One of my waxes showed a manufacture date of 1 year ago but all was fine with both waxes. One of my waxes has changed consistency some in the last year so frankly, what I got was the wax how I prefer it. This week I ordered 2 more cases of each and I picked them up today over lunch. So, it is no typical candle supplier warehouse as I would have expected or have seen but I certainly enjoy saving on shipping and appreciate the information which motivated me to give them another try. Thanks!
  12. Most online buyers do as you suggest. They reuse the cups and just pop in vendor wax after the wax that came in is spent. I am certain that you have already watched videos but I thought this one was well done. She might even measure for you if you ask in video comments although the video is 2 years old: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyvqGrKIQ7Y
  13. Now that I know my "result", I can try it in a foaming bottle. Good news is that my skin tolerated the scent (a Philosophy dupe) and I know the soap itself is not an irritant. Fragrance free skin products make me sad but my skin stays happy! Hoping to get to have some good smelling body goodies on occasion.
  14. I look forward to this. Not adding B&B to my line but for me to use. I have such sensitive skin and I prefer liquid soap. I currently use a baby wash or a liquid castille. I put some castille in a small bottle and added just a touch of an FO that I use for wax that is body safe and I created a bottle of water! HA! It lathers fine but I'd love to make something for myself that was thicker.
  15. What?? Oh, my goodness. They are great! They rotate deals such as 25% off shipping, tiered $ off for $ spent. My fav is the $50 off $500 or 25% off shipping when I am buying 4 or more cases of wax. Often they have 15% or so off fragrance oils. The emails with codes come out every Wednesday and run through the following Tuesday night.
  16. Went to pull up my weekly Wednesday email from Peak to see if the weekly coupon codes apply to what I need to buy and I do not have an email. Last one I had was for Labor Day. If you received, would you please share codes with me? Thank you!
  17. I would not use the same/similar font for the business (brand) name and the scent name. I am not crazy about her font. If you use that one, I would make her brand name larger.
  18. That Vendor's wax is not all paraffin.
  19. That is a beautiful sight! I love progress and productivity! To that end, about 40 pounds of wax is now in pans and resting comfortably here. So, technically, it is what WAS in my pot! SOOOO many Fall scents. So many Fall shapes. My house smells divine as cozy scents are really my favorites. Took today off work today to pour. Working a non-wax job full time means long weekends are dedicated to my 2nd full time job (wax)!
  20. Switch your browser. I had that issue once, used a different browser and it worked fine. Just checked Safari and Chrome and they work fine. Must be Firefox or IE that had the issue (everyone should be switching away from IE anyway as most companies are no longer supporting new versions so it will only get more problematic).
  21. My small bottles always come in zip top bags. In random fashion. My pound size bottles come in these bags as well but are typically 4-5 to a bag and are upright. Not certain these come differently than any I get from any supplier except those who ship in glass bottles. You likely will feel differently about some of these once they are in wax and melted.
  22. True! I think mine may be better suited for boutique stores and your type of markets. Online customers as a group, generally likes lots of color, unique and elaborate shapes (some vendors offer a small bowl, fruit loops cereal pieces, milk and a spoon-ALL made of scented wax, as example) and lots of embeds and glitter! My simple, naked wax has as much following as I can manage nights and weekends, so it works out. I certainly admire the work of those of you who use beautiful colors!
  23. Links to websites are not permitted in the forum. My wax is naked so I do not have anything as lovely as that vendor's roses. Her roses (well, she has a bunch of beautiful shaped melts) are just exquisite and highly sought after as you can imagine! Back to the 12-cavity clamshell topic!!
  24. They are packaged either how OG shows them in bakery bags and tie top polypropylene bags or individual shapes are packaged in polypro zip top bags. I can imagine that the individual ones would get quite smudgey when handled in a store but are super popular with online customers. We pack them in boxes and they arrive at their destination so no shop wear. To not be rude and post things which are not relevant to the original intent of this thread, I can give you links to my website for examples of shaped melts as well as those of some of my online Vendor peers who do shaped melts well via PM if you are interested. This vendor (not my product and not my pic-online customers post pics of the orders they receive in BIG wax enthusiasts Facebook groups!!) has incredibly beautiful shaped melts. Look at her roses!
