  1. I do not know any indie wax vendor in the wax community that sells 12 cavity so no luck finding any you can buy. In the online wax community, clamshells have fallen out of favor and shaped melts have become favored. Empty ones I found (you probably found both of these already): http://candlepackagingusa.com/12-cavity-melt-clamshell-clear-pvc-with-hanger-hole.html Or these but the 3,000 case is something! The shape is cute. http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/12-Cavity-plastic-wax-clamshell-packaging_60232411236.html
  2. Does she not have access to their website backend??? If she does, she can run customer lists in a second. Surely all other records such as suppliers and codes are available to her as well. Mine are not a part of my website but I have separate spreadsheets for all of that. Hope he left her with that information.
  3. That "someone" could still be you! My granddaughters live in Nashville so I could come and visit your operation! Once I retire from my corporate gig, since my wax business is 100% online, it goes where I go. I may end up in TN! Will be eager to hear if you perhaps inquire about a price for buying the scent information!
  4. YES!! This is very true. The 30K she is asking for the business likely does not include anything more than customer lists, current inventory and proprietary information such as the scent distributor detail which would include these codes. New agreements would need to be established with all suppliers or all materials. Warehouse space would have to be secured. It will not be enough to have a fragrance business which just offers a few oils. You will need many more. That will take warehouse space and employees. The oil will arrive in drums and need to be bottled, labeled, inventoried and of course be shipped. I would be happy to aid/advise anyone who does this with website setup and detail on effective social media. I do not wish to be a part of a distribution business (I am busy enough running my own!) but could certainly lend my expertise.
  5. It is the only one that I am aware. Most others have just mobile enabled or optimized their sites. In some instances, I prefer the full site to the mobile version. Either because I am used to how I have always shopped or because mobile is poorly executed. Working in technology has spoiled me to good user experience/interface!
  6. That would/could also include recipes and codes for scents. If she has remarked that her selling agent would not permit her to sell only that portion then yes. That is include din the value of her business. Someone would have to buy it all to get codes.
  7. I bought the What's New sampler. I do not usually buy those but pick and choose from new releases. I decided to buy the Sampler just to see what I thought of all of the scents. I was not as pleased with as many as you were just OOB. I never make a judgement on any scent until it is in wax, of course. I had a lighter than usual pour plan last week so I got of them all in wax. I have only melted 2 scents of the testers I poured. If any pass my initial testing, my next step is blending and naming as I do not offer scents straight from the bottle (the online wax world is about vendor differentiation so I do what I can to not offer scents which can be easily replicated). The only one which was an absolute no for me when I was pouring was Green Pumpkin. For others, that could be their favorite of the Sampler! I will have to wait until I test Hipster but I get no coffee note out of that scent. On cold. It smells more like a masculine cologne to me. Will be eager to see if the coffee note comes out when warmed.
  8. I know a couple of us do. Mine is through the same company I use for homeowners and out personal umbrella policy. I wrote up a fairly comprehensive overview and included photos. I was clear that NOTHING I sell is set aflame and I also do not sell warmers to further distance myself from liability. The first quote came back and my agent (who is awesome) argued that they had just issued another client of hers insurance for selling smoked meats at festivals for less so to go back and look again at what I needed. They did and my rate is wonderful and just what I need.
  9. Yes. Pink camo clothing and accessories are popular here for the ladies. I was a bit surprised to see pink camo lingerie at Bass Pro-HA! You know me and naming. I rename every scent. Well, and I write for a living so that explains that even more!
  10. I will private message you. I do not think we are to post our own information. I also do not openly share as much here as I used to after posting pics and ideas and then finding what I shared on other websites.
  11. No. Not interested in having a physical storefront. My store is online and always open!
  12. Okay. I get FO's from 12 suppliers. I could never be narrowed to one supplier. You might need to live on a boat or in an RV!!
  13. Did you see my update on Morris in Kansas City on your thread??
  14. I called and spoke with the same lady with Morris in Illinois who told me previously that the Kansas City facility is not climate controlled. I told her that I could not find a number for the Kansas City facility on the website. She said it is not on the website. I asked for the KC number. She said I did not need it, I will place my order with her. I told her I had a question I wanted to ask directly. She gave me a number for a gentleman. I called the number and someone else answered his phone. He said he did not know if where the wax was stored was climate controlled. I asked who would and he said “the owner” and gave me that number. I called and things have changed. The trailer is gone and they operate out of the building which was behind the trailer. The warehouse is not climate controlled however, Nestle has the warehouse next to them and it is for their frozen foods so it works to keep their warehouse in the 80’s. He said they have learned not to ship from Illinois other than M-W as the wax was getting too hot on trailers over the weekends. He wonders if I got wax from a closed warehouse whose inventory they absorbed. So. I am one who does my own thing and needs to see things for myself. I am going to place an order for just 1 case of each of my waxes and see how the process is and how comfortable I feel with things. I REALLY hope it is a better experience for me and that the product seems sound. I have been using the same 2 waxes for 4 years so am very familiar when anything is different with them. They do change. Drier, more viscous, etc. It would save me so much money to go and pick them up. I REALLY, REALLY hope this works out. I will follow up with my results!
  15. I will start by saying the I LOVE Peak. I will next say that they have put me in a bad place on fragrance oil inventory this summer! They were out of stock on 8 oils I need and oddly, none of them were the ones you mention. My business is not set up whereby I make or offer only what I have available or feel like making each week. It is also not one where I order one 4-8 ounce bottle of an oil at a time. I order 4-8 pounds of each oil at a time and order frequently. I have a scent list which persists year round and I offer not only ready to ship items in every scent (103 currently but now I understand lots of people here offer scent lists this size or much larger year round) as well as many items which can be custom ordered or blended in every scent, every week. My business is all online and my customers are nationwide and now in Australia and the U.K. Since I run a legitimate business, I am serious about inventory of product and materials. I keep 1-10 pounds of every oil I use (more than 103 since my scents are mostly blends) as back stock-beyond the pound I am actively using. I am diligent and super organized. I do not run out unexpectedly and then discover the oils I want are out of stock. I plan well. Some oils have been out of stock for several weeks. I have enough back stock to last a few weeks but not consistently 4-6 weeks. So, this summer has been very different. I hope it is a result of combining warehouses and not any issue with Peak or their suppliers (did I mention that I love them??). I have had to remove several scents from my list off and on over the summer because I may use 1 oil in 4 scents (I blend) in my line-even just at a rate of 10%-but if I do not have enough of the oil I cannot open it up and get 100 orders which contain a scent from my list that uses that one oil. Also, as most customers do not order 2-3 items, but 20-30 items in each order, if I am out of some scents they want, they hold their orders. I currently await 4 oils to return to inventory. Again, not those that you mention so this is not random but more consistently an issue. My order on the 4-5 that did come back in stock was $500. I will order just as heavily on the 4 I await since I do not know what to expect when I am ready to order which is VERY different for Peak.
  16. Yes. I switched first to 2 case of each wax I use. I am going to try a local supplier once again and see if my experience is better. Just a case of each, though until I know. I recently spent over $120 in shipping alone on wax. Cuts deeply into the bottom line!
  17. My scent list remains constant year round. Melt Cups are RTS and I try and keep 10-25 of each in inventory each week so a LOT of Melt Cups. Then I offer custom items which can be poured in the 103 scents. Clearly, I now add scents much more slowly and carefully than I used to! I have customers nationwide and now Australia and England. All scents sell year round. I have customers who buy apple and spice scents in the heat of my summer and some who want fruit and clean scents in my winter!
  18. Yes. It all comes down to money. If a business was renting a warehouse for say $10,000 a month (just to pick a number) for years and now that same warehouse can be rented for double each month to GROW the product, then the owner has to seize the moment while they can, I suppose. EVEN if the former renter was loyal and reliable. There was only 1 state separating me from Peak in Colorado so I was spoiled. Shipping was less costly and fast! Now, sadly, CS is less expensive for me than Peak on cases of wax. I love Peak. I still use far more oils from Peak than CS (I always thought of CS as focusing more on soy wax application). Now I buy 6-8 pounds of each oil from Peak when I order rather than the 1-2 pounds of each I used to order.
  19. Yes, that is what dawned on me as I was typing. You knock out certain scents each day so you are not sorting though and gathering tons each day. Makes sense! 103 scents. But each scent is typically made up of 2-3 oils. Trying to maintain my full time career and do this is maddening!!! HA!!!
  20. Do you make wax in bulk batches where you are not having to pull lots of oils each day that you pour? I'll bet now that I am thinking it through, you pour like 100 jars in 1 scent or 2 this day, a different one the next, etc. I guess because I make melts only, have 103 scents in my line, each is made up of 2-3 oils and am constantly replenishing inventory I have to pull maybe 50-60 bottles of oil each pouring session! I would lose my mind (may be too late for this anyway-HA!) if I did not have them categorized. I probably should not show you what my pouring plan template looks like...HAHA! Hey! I have those big turkey fryers full of wax, you know!!
  21. My wax room is the most northern part of the house. The room is lined with commercial chrome shelves. I also like my oils not exposed to the light so have tons of big opaque Rubbermaid containers for them. Active/open bottles (1-2 pound bottles) are in bins on one of the shelves and my back stock bins are on another. I store by supplier. I am some sort of organization and labeling freak so it is all organized and labeled. I go through oil quickly so am not certain why I am so concerned about oils going bad!
  22. You have done a beautiful job. As you have likely seen on indie wax and candles, people believe that adding more things make a label better. More colors, more fonts and more images and overlays. Yours look clean, have a nice readable font and you have not used too many font sizes. I use Special Elite font as one of my fonts and if this is not Special Elite, it is very close! My only caution for you is listing burn hours on the label as this can really be altered burning in a person's home. Air conditioning, fans, placement of the candle can all come into play. The only other thing is to be certain that you have licensing rights to use the images you apply to your labels. You have done a VERY nice job on these labels. Many may find them "plain" or "simple" but you have evoked a high end look. I do have a nice sized wax business but it is my 3 decades long corporate job from which I draw my licensing, font, design and editorial experience.
  23. This is a Glade warmer. It is a ceramic dish with sits atop a hot plate. Wax warms in the ceramic dish. It is electric. Cord is just not visible in these stock pics.
