  1. I don't use your wax but I use apothecary jars with almost 4 inch diameter and am in process of testing a new soy wax and wicks and I have been getting a almost fmp in 4 hours on my first burns....haven't done second burns yet but I am using 2 wicks....(RRD, CD, LX are the one's I have tested so far) and my mp was 1/4 inch deep on first test burn.
  2. Stella, I have been doing everything you recommended except weighing the empty jar and the jars with wax. I will get my scale in my kitchen and start doing that too!
  3. Beth, do you use Just Scents in soy? It has been a year since I tried a FO from them, Little Sexy Thing's if I recall but it didn't give me a strong HT in Ecosoya CB 135 candles. I am currently trying to switch to EL Container wax and since the sale is so amazing, was going to see about ordering some of Just Scent's pounds. Last time I ordered lb's based on rave reviews I wasn't too happy because 4 our of 5 did horrible in my soy wax
  4. I personally LOVE CS Peppermint & Eucalyptus but never been able to sell it too much. I have used BBW sugar scrub with this scent for 8 years and hope to one day try to make my own sugar scrub that smell's pretty close to it....trying to get my soy candles down right now so I am sure that won't be for a while since I have never made a sugar scrub in my life lol
  5. Stella, that is just so strange how that works out lol. To my knowledge nothing changed in the room temp, pouring temps all the same and everything else that was recommended for the wax but oh well. I don't mind wet spots at all and have not had a customer complain. I just saw a bunch of Yankee candles at Macy's the other day with ton's of wet spots lol. I am testing some EL Container wax jars right now to find a good wick and then go from there to figure out what percent of FO will get me the best HT. It was hard to wait for 7 day cure too
  6. I have used CS for years and have had no problems! I haven't tried any other companies to compare but am happy with CS.
  7. Really odd....poured 8 tester candles with EL wax, using same FO, same wax amount, same temp 100 and half got wet spots and half didn't.
  8. Hey, its still early and I am only on my 2nd cup of coffee....give me some slack LOL
  9. I did a bizzare one year and only had a few months to prepare and it was during christmas. We decorated our booth very elegant and christmas like, played soft christmas music and had an electric melter on at our booth so customer's could smell a nice aroma as they walked by...and we got ton's of compliments on the scent we had melting. My business partner and I attended and had my sister come along as well. So we had 3 people at the booth. We don't live in a huge town either and only had about 3 times it was so busy with people it felt overwhelming to us. Other than that, it was kind of slow and very boring. In the end, we made only $300 at the bizzare for an 8 hour day with 3 people so in my small town, we will not be doing it again. Oh, and there was about 5 different candle makers at this homeshow too. Kind of wish they wouldn't have allowed so many of the same trade but oh well.
  10. I saw a web site selling soy candles put a 16 oz label on the jar and on the description about the jar on the web site they said "this 16 oz jar will hold 18 to 22 oz of wax even though the supplier calls it a 16 oz jar. Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't she be able to just put 18 oz on her jar labels since that is the minimum wax it will hold and leave it at that?
  11. I make mini muffin soy wax melts and put them in polypro zip bags with my label on the bag, haven't had a problem with this method yet!
  12. I use apothecary jars and the cheapest I have found with the lid are from Enchanted Lights. You can go to their web site enchanted-lights.com and see if there is a distributor in your area but if not, Bruce from EL in New Hampton, Iowa will ship them to you and the shipping isn't that bad at all!
  13. Never tried a plain cheesecake but these are very awesome Fo's CS Blueberry Cheesecake EL Lemon Cheesecake NG Pumpkin Cheesecake
  14. If I am correct, NG has a Gain Original Fragrance
  15. CS Hansel & Gretel is a HUGE seller for me in my soy wax. It smells like yummy gingerbread drizzled with frosting and raisins!! You won't be disappointed.
  16. Enchanted Lights has Cake Bake....smells just like a vanilla cake with notes of butter!
  17. I really like NG Christmas Cravings (smells nothing like a christmas scent to me) or Pilgrim's Pie from NG. Extremely strong CT and HT in soy wax!
  18. I have teste the Madagascar from NG in a few other blends and in opinion, not pleased with the CT or HT on this FO. Won't be ordering it again.
  19. I ordered Madagascar, Bedtime Dreams, Jamacia Me Crazy from NG and they all have the worst CT and HT. This is my very first FO's from NG that weren't amazing!
  20. CS Nag Champa is VERY STRONG and a good one in my Ecosoya wax.
  21. I use Ecosoya CB 135 and the Carrot Cake had a horrible CT and HT from NG. Now, they have a Carrot Cupcake that has AMAZING CT and HT from NG!!! I will definitely be ordering the Carrot Cupcake again
  22. Enchanted Lights has a Hot Apple Strudel and Bruce from EL states it is a huge seller with them. I just made some soy wax melts with it and will test it in 5 days. I have yet to find a good, strong HT with any apple scents in my Ecosoya wax. I have switched to EL wax so am keeping my fingers crossed it is a good one!! If you want, I can let you know my result after I test it. Keeping my finger's crossed.
  23. Ok, I have .85 of it so just let me know.
  24. I am not advertising my candles as any percent of FO. I will just stick with 8 oz solid wax and add 9% FO and just have a little extra wax for a melt since this is what I have done for years. Just got confused trying the "subtract your FO" method from total oz wax you will be using.......I hate getting confused and it doesn't take much LOL
