  1. I live in Illinois and priced alot of suppliers for wax shipped to me and the cheapest was Gate Saco, DPS/Morris wax. 815-462-0939
  2. I am sorry for my confusion but this is what I have done in the past with an 8 oz jar of soy wax. I measure out 8 oz wax. Put it in presto pot. I then take my FO and do the math 8 x .09 since I do 9%. That comes to .72 and since my scale measures ounces in 5's I bump it to .75. Then I melt the 8 oz wax, pour in pitcher and at right temp add the .75 FO. If I remember correctly that leaves just about .70-.80 leftover wax so I just make the extra into a wax melt. However, I saw something on a thread about subtracting the FO from wax. So, if I do that then 8 oz wax minus the .75 would be 7.25 of wax. I then measure 7.25 wax on scale. Dump that into the presto pot, when it reaches correct temp I pour the 7.25 melted wax into my pouring pitcher, wait till correct temp to add .75 FO, however, that doesn't give me a full 8 oz to fill my 8 oz jar. Which one is the correct way?
  3. the reason I let the candle burn past 4 hours is because there was only about 2 inch diameter melt pool in 4 hours. In a 4 inch diameter I didn't think 2 inches in 4 hours was a good first burn, maybe wick up or 2 wicks?
  4. Thank You! For some reason I do not get all the post's on a thread I am subscribed to via instant email notification...frustrating.
  5. ChandlerWicks, my account is under 30 day's so I can't search for Lorrie to ask her about my wax. How would I look her up?
  6. Lorelei, I think I have some left of my Christmas Tree from NG if you want me to send it to ya to try it. I won't be needing it anymore since the season is over and I think there is enough for you to make something and test it. I just bought the FO in November so it isn't old or anything lol
  7. Finished testing all the wicks for my EL Millenium wax. CD 22, CD 20, Paper 60-44-18P, Paper 62-52-18P, LX 26, LX 24, RRD 55, HTP 1312, HTP 1212 with no success. I tested without any FO, just the wax and wick in my 8 oz apothecary jars with 4 inch diameter. I kept good notes and the jar's gave me 2 burns before got to almost the bottom and over 1 inch of wax hangup so all the wicks tunnelled pretty bad. The only promising one was CD 22 but towards the end of the candle it tunnelled too I thought in the first burn the hangup wax would fall into the melt pool but never did. So, that being said. I think I am just going to go to double wicks. Any suggestions on sizes for all these types of wicks? CD HTP LX Paper Core RRD
  8. They emailed me back yesterday and said they test their products and the Snowman melter only gets to 135-150. They are sending me a new one free of charge and having me ship back my defective one!!! They said I could pick ANY melter on their web site with the bulb if I didn't want a snowman melter, that was sure nice of them!
  9. Will the white large wick centering tool work for my 4 inch apothecary jar? It says 3-3/8". I have a dual EZ wick setter and I have always used a popsicle stick and clothes pins. The wick is very secure at the bottom but after the candle has cooled sometimes it doesn't look too centered to me. I am speaking about my dual wicks btw.
  10. Stella, I am apparently testing my jars wrong because I let my first burn last until about 1/4 inch hangup on jar and this usually takes 7 hours. For my 4 inch diameter jars my first test burn should only be 4 hours and every burn after? I have always let my first test burn go until I get almost fmp.....which I have not received yet and now I know why lol.
  11. NG Christmas Tree had such RAVE reviews how it smells just like the real thing so I got a 4 oz bottle. Wish I would have gotten a pound! It smells SO MUCH like a real pine tree I was shocked. A friend of mine hates Christmas Tree candles/wax melts because it smells so artificial to her and she smelled my Christmas Tree wax melts and was blown away and loved the smell, she said it smells just like a real pine tree. I used Ecosoya wax and had amazing CT and HT.
  12. I ordered this FO because of the rave reviews but to be honest, all I smell is cloves. I personally hate the smell but wanted to let friends/family sample a melt and get their opinion. If anyone has smelled this FO what scent would you call this? Only thing I can come up with is Spices from the World or Kitchen Spice.
  13. You are correct, it is a new formulation, got confused because they had "new" by the scent picture when I ordered the FO. I guess I will keep the name the same and see what happens. Thanks Everyone!
  14. Does EL was take 5 -7 days to cure before I get any HT? My ecosoya melts were amazing in 2 days and even better in 5. However, I used EL Votice/Container 60/40 and 3 days later the melts don't give off a strong HT like I am use to with Ecosoya.
  15. Wow, I have found someone else like me with the OCD wick problem with 2 wicks LOL...thought it was just me.
  16. I got awesome CT and HT with my Ecosoya CB 135 wax in these FO's: Candlescience: Hansel & Gretel's House, White Tea & Berries, Pecan Pie, Pine Cones, Blueberry Cheesecake, Day at the Spa, Twigs & Berries, Bayberry, Christmas Hearth Enchanted Lights: Lemon Cheesecake, Pumpkin Pie, Fruit Slices, Vanilla, Love Spell Natures Garden: Christmas Cravings, Christmas Tree, Madagascar Type, Spiced Cranberry, Carrot Cupcake, Pumpkin Crunch Cake, Christmas Splendor I am in process of switching to Enchanted Lights wax now so I am really hoping I get the same CT and HT as I did with Ecosoya.
  17. Pic on left: 8 oz apothecary jar (4 inch diameter) with EL Millenium soy wax CD 22 wick. Lit for 7 hours 45 minutes and this was the final result. Pic on right: same jar and same burn time but using EL Container Blend Soy wax CD 22. In both pics I showed the largest hangup on the jars. The other side of Container jar had jus a sliver of hangup. Other side of Millenium jar had about 1/4 inch hangup. Both candles cured for 48 hours and I did not add any FO or additives. Just lit both today for 2nd burn test. What are everyone's opinions how the first burn looks?
  18. I am in the testing stage with EL Millenium so my testing may not count lol. I just poured this wax (wax/wick only, no FO's or additives) into 3 different jars (apothecary 8 oz) at 3 different temps and they all turned out BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely no frosting, no wet spots and very smooth, gorgeous tops. All 3 temps were 130, 160, 170. My first test batch I poured at 100* thinking I had to do this to get great looking candles but apparently the higher temp pours worked just as amazing! This will save me ton's of time waiting for the wax to cool down to 100 before having to pour it LOL (Keeping my fingers crossed when I figure out which wick will work with this wax that it has an amazing HT as well)
  19. Not sure if I can ask this question here or have to start a new thread. When my wax melts are done and there is no HT I havebeen pouring them into one big container. I have been using this wax to make pinecone firestarters but was wondering if I can use it again to make wax melts again (just for me, not to sell)
  20. Perhaps...I emailed candlewarmers customer service Dec 19th about it and haven't heard back from them...maybe they are off for Christmas.
  21. Yes I did lol. I purchased 2 of the mid size wamer's on sale from them and neither melter would melt my .90 oz mini muffin wax melt made with Ecosoya CB 135 (MP 122). I only got about a nickel size mp from both warmers. I even cut my .90 melt in half and it still didn't create a full mp in the warmer. I friend of mine has a couple warmer's from Scentsy and had the same problem and she put a 40 watt bulb in it and it has worked for her for a year so I tried it and it works great!
  22. Got my BitterCreek Candle Supply wicks today! The Hemp wicks I received are as follows: 100% Hemp Core 6" Large+ Hemp Core 6" Medium Hemp Core 40032 Extra Lg Hemp Core 6" Large Hemp Core 60048 Super Lg Hemp Core I want to single wick my 4 inch diameter apothecary jars with Enchanted Lights Soy Wax ( I don't use any dye or additives) Could anyone recommend a good size to start with the Hemp wicks? I tried looking online at Bitter Creek Candle Supply web site but didn't get any answers. Thanks so much!!!!
  23. I have used Ecosoya CB 135 container wax for years for my mini muffin size wax melts and they did perfect!! Excellent CT and HT. The molds were free standing in little polypro zipper bags and they were a little on the soft side but nothing that any customer ever complained or wouldn't return for more!
  24. I can't email you because my account is under 30 days. I have recently switched from Ecosoya wax to EL and have a couple questions regarding wax melts. If you could email me a.coursey@comcast.net that would be awesome and greatly appreciated!!! THANKS SO MUCH
