  1. Hansel & Gretel's House FO from Candlescience has flashpoint of 210 degrees. I have an electric warmer that the melted wax has gotten to 175-180 degrees. Can I use just straight FO (not mixed with my soy wax) in my electric melter to freshen up the house? The reason I ask...I don't have time to make actual soy melts anymore and I was wondering if this would work until I get a chance to make soy melts to freshen up my house. Thanks so much!
  2. Not too impressed at 6% load. Will have to try making more at 7.
  3. 16 oz + 1oz FO. I use to do the other method but it is easier for me to just pour 16 oz wax and just add the 8% FO instead of subracting lol. So I guess my FO load may not be exactly 8% doing it this way, but I wont be advertising when I sell my % used.
  4. My Test Results at 6% FO load in EL 100% Soy Wax Melts: Ocean: 3.5 Fresh Baked Pie Crust: 1 Warm Apple Pie: 1 Sweet Pumpkin Spice: 1 Cappuccino Hazelnut: 1 Cranberry Apple Marmalade: 5 Winter Wonderland: 1 Country Berry Hotcakes: 1 Sugar Cookie: 1 I am going to try these FO's again but this time with 7% FO load....really hope I get a strong throw because I really like these scents..just didn't hardly throw at all in my wax with 6% (I usually use 8% but wanted to start at 6% with Peaks since I heard such great reviews about the strength of the oil's and needing less FO)
  5. At 6% FO load I could barely smell Cappuccino Hazelnut. Will have to make some more melts at 7% and 8%.
  6. My ratings on Just Scent BB Oils in my 100% soy wax melts: Morning Buzz: 1 Sweet Country Muffin: 1 Wipe Out: 1 Blonde Moment: 5 (great HT but smells like grape bubble gum and wont be a seller for me) Jolly Rancher Apple: 1 White Cranberry: 1 Cappuccino Hazelnut: 2 Sand n Shorts: 3 Buttercream Crunch: 3.5 I was REALLY hoping the BB line would ROCK in my wax but unfortnately they didn't. I had better luck with the NON BB oil's in my wax...strange. I am not sure I will be ordering from her again since alot of her oil's didn't give me the results I was looking for. Am trying Peaks for first time and hope I get better success with them.....if not will just stick with Candlescience and Nature's Garden and save my money Atleast I can say I tried LOL
  7. Pulled out a VBC melt that was about 2-3 weeks cured from JS and it only lasted 5 hours in my electric melter Am really wondering if JS fragrance oil's don't stay in my wax melts long enough and evaporate or just lose the scent. I tested a VBC after a 6 day cure a while back and it was SO strong and awesome. It was really weak and didn't even smell that good at 2-3 week cure.....strange. I stored it in a poly plastic bag that doesn't suck the scent out of the wax. I am testing some other wax melts I have of her's that did awesome after a 6 day cure (Clean Sheets to name one) and I hope it gives me great throw like it did at a 6 day cure...if not I probably won't be purchasing from JS again cause I don't have this problem with any of my other Natures Garden and Candlescience melts...they can sit in my poly bag for months and still throw an amazing scent....just strange.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions but I ended up not going with any of these scents. Blonde Moment smells like Grape Bubble Gum and Morning Buzz actually has a stinky smell walking into the room like something burnt mixed with a stale smell. You have to put your nose to the melter to actually smell any cinnamon. Won't be using either of these scents...if anyone wants the 1 lb bottles I ordered you can have them lol
  9. Right now thru Feb 22nd PEAKS is offering 25% off UPS shipping!
  10. The only one I have tried from them and it is DELICIOUS is Apple Clove Butter!
  11. Rasberry white chocolate Pumpkin Spice Hazelnut Irish Cream Vanilla Cinnamon Chi Egg Nog Peppermint (My fav) ....just a list of some lattes I have seen at a coffee shop that smell really good
  12. The Country Berry Hotcakes lasted 10 hours in my basement living room before I shut it off for night and I think that is very good for a 2 day cure! It wasn't overpowerfully strong like I prefer with melts but it is also only a 2 day cure so I am sure after a week it will be amazing! Nice berry smell for sure...just not sure I can sell it labeled anything hotcakes unless some butter/syrup notes come thru after curing. Very impressed over all though for a 2 day cure at 6%. I am sure it will still throw tomorrow after I plug the melter in for day 2 testing
  13. Here is the descrption of Country Berry Hotcakes: Just like mouth watering, buttery hotcakes made perfectly with just the right amount of country berries and drizzled with syrup. IMO the description is very misleading because there is no butter or syrup smell at all for me.....just smell's like berries. Hope after a week cure the syrup and butter notes come out lol
  14. I know it is still too early but I went ahead and tested Country Berry Hotcakes after a 2 day cure in a wax melt and it is filling up my basement living room very nicely (usually don't get a good ht after 2 day's with other FO's). However, I am not smelling any type of baking scent like pancakes or Hotcakes in it. This smells very very similar to Candlescience FO called White Tea & Berries. I am still liking it but I get more of a berry smell than anything hotcakes....maybe needs some more maple syrup FO or something lol
  15. I have never heard of ICS before, prices are really great!! THANK YOU
  16. Received the order today Ordered it Wednesday Feb 8th in evening, was shipped Thursday Feb 9th and received it Feb 13th USPS...only 4 day's including weekend so NOT BAD OOB: Cappuccino Hazelnut: A really nice, strong coffee note that I was looking for that Just Scent Capp Hazel lacked. Country Berry Hotcakes: DELICIOUS is all I can say about this. Smells just like described only better. I love this one OOB. Fresh Baked Pie Crust: It has a very soft scent to me OOB, hoping it is stronger in my soy wax melt. Ocean: Has more of a perfume smell to me, was hoping for more of a salt smell but I am only drawn to baking smells so my opinion doesn't mean much on the scent to me..just doesn't smell like an ocean to me OOB...hopefully melting it in a wax melt will have different results! I still like it though, very strong and intense. I do not have any other Ocean FO to compare it to though. Sweet Pumpkin Spice: This smell's more like a spiced cinnamon smell to me, not much pumpkin but I really like it. Could try to sell it all year long as a spiced scent since those seem to sell like hotcakes for me..we will see when it has cured if I get a lot of pumpkin. Warm Apple Pie: Was wanting more of a pie crust smell but mostly smell apples and a bit of spices. Will see how it does, have tried a lot of apple scents and can't seem to find the perfect apple pie for me yet.. Winter Wonderland: WOWSERS....Reminds me of a cold winter day with snow falling on the ground..LOVE this one. Cranberry Apple Marmalade: Scent is very true to its name, really like the smell OOB, hope it throws well. Black Rasberry Vanilla: If you like BBW, you will LOVE this scent. Smells just like it. Sugar Cookie: Not too strong OOB or when stirring with wax, hope it smells better after cured. I am trying to find a really strong Sugar Cookie scent because my WSP sugar cookie just wasn't strong enough for me. With all that said, I am going to test all these scents in soy wax melts using only 6% FO load. Will let ya know the results.
  17. I tested the BB buttercream crunch and I actually prefer it over the vanilla buttercream crunch. It does lack a bit of the vanilla but is still an amazing scent and save ya some money.
  18. To be honest, both the tester's that said 7 day's and a few day's haven't given me back the sheets yet so I don't know what they consider days....I am curious to find out. They just told me via text about the day's. I asked on the sheet how many hours so hope they filled it out right. My tester that said 5 day's leaves his electric plate melter on 24-7 so one day to him is 24 hours. So his melt lasted about 120 hours. He finally just threw the love spell melt away because he got sick of the same scent...now his space is a small size office he test's them in but he smokes in it and only likes stronger melts that last a long time and covers up the smoke smell. A few cinnamon or apple scents I have given him to test don't last more than 2 day's or 48 hours in his office. I have yet to find a really good cinnamon or apple scent that last's in my wax. I am a stay at home mom so when I test my melts in my home, a full day to me is 15 hours. The lowest hours I get out of a melt I keep is 30 hours. If a melt doesn't last 30 hours or at least 2 full day's in my living room (my living room is a huge vaulted ceiling space) I won't keep that scent in stock. Hope that answered your questions lol
  19. My last 5 tester's I gave 10 scents to (some new one's I am trying) and a sheet to fill out. I did ask if they are able to, give me the temp of the melted wax becausee if they come back with bad results from my melts that they only lasted 10-15 hours I want to know why they didn't get such good results as other tester's. Not sure if they will give me the temp or not, I guess asking what kind of melter they use would be beneficial but it also depends on how close the bowl is sitting next to the bulb too. I have melter's from every company that sell's them and some of them get SO hot even though the bulb isn't that high of wattage and other's don't get hot enough and I have to put a higher bulb in. I have some wax melter's that will throw 3-4 day's of a particular wax melt and the same scent with different melter will throw only 2 days......frustrating since I have no clue what brand melter my customer's or general public will use lol I think it is really funny how out of the 5 tester's I have I already heard back from 3 about the scent Love Spell. Here are the results. Tester 1: Love Spell lasted 7 day's and LOVED IT Tester 2: Love Spell lasted a few day's and could have been stronger and last longer for her Tester 3: Love Spell lasted 5 day's and LOVED IT
  20. Just Scent has Gain (type) and it worked really well in my soy wax melts. I don't change the name when I sell them, it really smells nice too
  21. I hope I like Capp Hazelnut because I did not like JS.
  22. I think my addiction to ordering new FO's keeps me from ever making any money LOL...So sad but true. I just ordered 10 samples from Peak (first time order ever) and they are actually the most expensive oil's I have ever paid for but if I can use less of it because they are so strong then I will be happy. What is frustrating for me....I love to carry some different scents other than baking but the ONLY scents I can ever sell are strictly baking LOL....I end up just using the other scents for me and the occasional person who likes something other than baking.. Ok, I am done ranting....
