  1. Dimples on my ¤ LOL......that is too cute. I have actually never heard of a song about freckles on my ¤ .....will have to look that one up cause my kids might enjoy that one.
  2. I apparently went over the lip of my jar when I made my tester in pic above, therefore giving me more weighed wax. When I weighed my jar this morning, I stopped right at the lip. I am still learning how much wax to melt and add FO to make just enough to fill my jars perfectly because I usually come short and don't have enough wax to fill my jar to where I would like or have some left over and just make a melt out of it. Back to the drawing board, will wick down and attempt to get the right amount of wax in my jar. The provider for my jars/wax say they get 8.3 oz by weight in my jar and 40-60 hours burn time. Of course, they single wick and told me to try FT 3.0 to single wick...haven't ever used this particular wick so will give it a try!!
  3. Just got all the FO's today! I am excited to test them in some melts. I will say, I mostly use CS and NG and OOB both NG and CS FO's are very strong. All the Just Scent FO's OOB are very weak smelling to me, not what I am use to. I know that doesn't mean they won't be awesome in melts/candles. Will let you know how my test goes. The Spiced Apple Pecan does not smell like that to me. Just a spiced apple, I don't smell any pecan OOB, hoping it throws with some pecan scent in it.
  4. My 8 oz apothecary jar without the lid is 2 3/4" h. Just to double check, I just put it on a scale empty and put some wax into it until it was to the lip. This jar only held 7.70 oz liquid wax.
  5. Enchanted Lights has an awesome Lemon Cheesecake that is VERY strong on the lemon side!! I absolutely love it and have sold it for years. Nature's Garden has Spiced Cranberry that is AWESOME too!
  6. And thank you, Scentsy!! Before you educated the public about warmers, I could only see the occasional wax melt! Have you had a problem with people not thinking anything but the Scentsy brand wax melts will work in the Scensty warmers? I have run into alot of people that were surprised my soy melts would work in their Scentsy warmer lol.
  7. CS does have some awesome FO's! I would also recommend trying Natures Garden for fragrance oil's.
  8. I use a 50/50 ratio of container wax and votive wax from EL for my mini muffin melts (silicone molds) and I have found that if I pour my wax melts at 130* I don't get those on the top, any hotter and I do. If the wax starts to get too thick and cool as I am pouring (usually happens only during my last melt left) I take my heat gun to the pouring part of the pitcher and it melts the rest of the wax that is still in the pitcher and pours perfectly into my mold!
  9. ~8 oz apothecary jar with 3 3/4" diameter ~7.45 oz EL Container wax & .55 oz Toasted Marshmallow FO ~Double wick using RRD 34 from BitterCreek Candle Supply ~Poured wax at 100* into jar (jar was not heated) ~Candle top was smooth and really nice looking ~No wet spots ~Candle cured for 7 days before first test burn. ~Overall HT was Good. ~Trimmed wicks to 1/4" before each test burn. ~Every test burn was in 4 hour increments. 1st Burn: Didn't acheive fmp after 4 hours, had 1/4 hang up on one side of jar. Once candle cooled the top had craters & bumps. 2nd Burn: In 3rd hour one of the wicks was leaning pretty bad almost into the mp so I had to blow out candle and straighten the wick. Didn't have any problems with it leaning again. (Wondering if twisting wicks on next candle will fix that?) 4th hour reached fmp 3/8" mp depth. Once candle cooled the top had craters & bumps 3rd Burn: fmp in 4th hour 3/8" mp depth. Once candle cooled the top had craters & bumps. 4th Burn: 4th hour fmp, tad under 1/2" mp depth. After candle cooled tops were smooth and perfect looking. 5th Burn: 3rd hour fmp was remaining wax in container 3/4" mp depth. 6th & Final Burn: Candle only had 3/4" wax left in the jar when I lit it and got a fmp in 2nd hour. mp depth was a hair above 1/2". I went ahead and let this candle burn until it was done wanting to see how far down it would go so total burn was 6 hours. Wicks finally went out leaving 1/4" wax remaining in the jar. Wicks pretty much burned until the end of the wick, almost touching the metal tab that held it in place. ~Didn't have any problems with the wicks lifting up off the jar, wicks stayed in place perfetly. ~The jar was never too hot to touch. ~The wicks stayed a constant 3/4" to 1" height from 1st burn test to final test. ~The wick's did get very very tiny mushroom's after each burn. ~There was never any soot on the jar or in the wax. Overall burn time was 24 hours with this candle. So, with all that said.....what are everyone's opinions on how this candle performed?
  10. I saw on a few thread's you use EL wax and are very pleased with it. I have used Ecosoya CB 135 for years but discovered a EL distributor within driving distance so have been testing EL wax. When I make wax melts (50/50 blend of Container/Votive) I have noticed that there is hardly no CT. 7-9% FO at 185*, pour 130. I have tested the melts after 2 days, 5 days, 7 days, 9 days and almost no HT at all.

I finally pulled one out after a 16 day cure and it performed great, really good CT and HT.

I guess my question is does EL wax really take 2 1/2 weeks to cure before I get a good, strong CT and HT?

Oh, I guess I should say, I use Nature's Garden, Candlescience, and Enchanted Lights FO's and all the FO's I am using performed AWESOME in Ecosoya and have been scents I carry for years so really wanting to make them work in EL.

Thanks so much for your time and I hope I haven't bothered you.

  11. 7% in Enchanted Lights wax. Now, I also made a bunch of other scents with the same batch and same FO load but they did have a good HT at all. So I definitely think this FO from Candlescience is super duper strong lol
  12. I just recently tried CS Pom Cider (1 oz sample) and it was SO SO strong I couldn't melt it in my house, and I have never had a problem with that before. A friend of mine owns a big hair salon and put that melt in her salon and she had her door open since it was oh 55 degrees in Illinois last week, and she had customer's smell it 2 blocks down the street. Just shows you how strong that baby is....however, she said she has 8-10 customer's love it and ask where she got that melt from. I am not going to purchase a bigger size of this FO unless I get a handful of request's so we will see what happens.
  13. I get Pink Sugar from Candles of the Earth and my husband loves this scent. It actually never sold to customer's and my tester's said it had a very weak HT but I still carry it for my husband since he loves it! To me it smells a lot like cotton candy. He has a problem with a sweet tooth so perhaps that is why he loves the Pink Sugar lol
  14. Glad to hear such positive comments about Lilac and VBC because I only carry scents that have a extremely strong HT.
  15. What is the height of your container? Here is what the supplier has listed for my 8 oz apothecary jar. 2 3/4" h mouth opening 2 7/8" diameter Jar 4" diameter Now, when I have this jar full of wax, the inside diameter of the wax is 3 5/8".
  16. All the tester's I am doing now are all double wick and getting fmp in 3 hours. Every single one of the single wick test's I burned 4 hours each time and left about 1/4 to 1 inch hangup all the way to the bottom of the jars. I was going to start a new thread as soon as all the candles have finished testing with the results and get everyone's insight. Should be a few more day's still.
  17. I have that type from Candles of the Earth and it has a very weak HT.
  18. I order most of my oils from NG and CS. A few from Candles of the Earth & a few from Enchanted Lights. Currently trying to find replacements for the COTE oils since they are a bit pricey.
  19. I just started a thread listing all the FO's I just ordered from Just Scents and will keep ya 'all posted on how they perform in my wax melts using EL wax. Keeping my fingers crossed too )
  20. I just ordered these FO's. This is my first time ordering from this company so I am keeping my fingers crossed they are amazing in my EL wax. I ordered 1 oz samples so will be testing them in wax melts. ~Lilac ~Abercrombie & Fitch Type Fierce ~Spiced Apple Pecan ~Eucalyptus Spearmint ~Flip Flops ~Toasted Marshmallow ~Vanilla Buttercream Crunch ~Gain Type ~Clean Crisp Cotton Sheets ~Snuggle Wild Orchard Vanilla Type
  21. EL Container wax, 7 % FO, HTP 104 double wick for this tester I am inquiring about. I have unsuccessfully tried to single wick this jar using RRD55, LX 24, LX 26, LX 30, Peper 62-52-18P, Paper 60-44-18P, CD 20, CD 22, HTP 1312, HTP 1212. No success with any of those wicks for single wick testing
  22. The mp is 3/8 inches deep btw after 3 hour fmp.
  23. So getting a fmp in 3 hours could be appropriate? I measured the bottom of the jar and it is 3 7/8. So I don't know why I was averaging it at 4 inches.
  24. This is probably going to be a no brainer question but I have to ask it and find out if I am doing it wrong. In the past I have been measuring my apothecary jars on the bottom to get the diameter and was getting almost 4 inches. I am testing a bunch of different wicks right now and almost all of them seem to get a fmp in 3 hours. I wondered to myself...self, perhaps this jar is not 4 inches lol I took a measuring tape on the inside of a full jar of wax, measured from one end to another and got 3 5/8", not 4. Any thoughts?
