  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will look into the wilton crystal sugar. TallTayl have you tried it yet? I have thought about using the turbinado, but I'm not excited about the color.
  2. Welcome Home from Majestic Mountain Sage is really close to my nose. This old house has a bit of a smokey note that WH does not have, but they are both awesome!!!!!!
  3. I ventured into making sugar scrubs this year. I love the way they make my skin feel. I have noticed that after a few months the sugar loses its scrubbiness. I am sure that the sugar dissolves as the scrub ages. I might try adding salt or trying scrub made exclusively with salt. I keep thinking that I will not like the salt at much. Does anyone have suggestions? What are the pros and cons of a Sugar Scrub and Salt Scrub? TIA.
  4. Those look awesome!!! Yes, definitely to cute to burn!
  5. Love, Love Oakmoss & Amber. I have only tried in melts, but it would be great in B&B. (I was just thinking that the other day) Some of my fav B&B scents are: Lemon Sugar (RE), Blackberry Sage (Peaks), Sultry Angel (CC), Flower Bomb (MW), Lavender (J&J type- The Candle Source), Pink Sugar (my daughter's fav).
  6. I want a basement. Jealous. Looks great!!!!
  7. My 10 year old tells everyone I make scentsy. I just laugh and say "yep." I would love to make something that would someday become its own "catagory." (no spell check required)
  8. Okay, Paypal has saved the day. It had a copy of what I ordered. It was grapefruit ginger from Wholesale Fragrance Oil Gallery. Hee-hee. Crazy quest. Thanks for your replies. Just for info - not really liking fragrance OOB. I can't smell grapefruit at all - just sweetness - and fo looks really thin and smells weak. Probably wont even put in wax. Live and learn.
  9. Can someone help me identify this supplier??? I just received a package with a 16 oz. bottle of fo oil in it. It has no label and no receipt. I remember looking at this supplier late, very late, at night and ordering something. I can't even tell what fragrance it is oob. This is too crazy. The only info I have is that it was shipped from Steve Johnson. I remeber his fos were $10 each. Help, please.:smiley2:
  10. Still waiting on my samples. Guess I need to get on the phone!!!!
  11. Cranberry marmalade, sweet nothings, twilight woods (best version out of the 4 or 5 I tried)
  12. Angel's soap supplies on ebay has it. I use the lush rock star dupe she offers, and it's great.
  13. My first thoughts after reading the name was "Jilted", "Love Burns", or "Smitten".
  14. Last year I made cute, clearly marked testers for each scent. People would still open clamshells to smell. No matter how many times I tried to explain about testers, people wanted to smell clamshells. I'm not going to bother with testers anymore. Lesson learned.
  15. I read it, but did not sign it. I want to make sure it is legit first. I guess I'm a sceptic. I cant imagine the trademark office would allow this. The link on NG facebook starts to make it more credible.
  16. I alway break mine apart using methods mentioned above, but you have me thinking, MissKasey. I have a salad shooter that is used to shred soap. I wonder if it would work for this wax? Hum, might try it. It sure would be easier to work with if it was shredded up.
  17. My yuckies are: Lovespell; anything nut/Carmel (I keep trying to like, but can hardly pour without gagging); guava scents (my nose can pick out guava like a hawk, laser,... What's the right metaphor???? - Anyway can't handle it)
  18. Just ordered samples. Darn you all !!!!!! I'm excited to try them, though!
  19. Which ones are worth trying, if you don't mind sharing. TIA.
  20. I do a 60/40 mix (3022/4794) works great for me.
  21. Freezer. I put them in freezer for a few minutes, then pop them out of mold or clamshell. It's an extra step but I love my wax blend so much I don't mind. If I'm using a clamshell, I just put it right back in and it stays detached from sides.
  22. I've only done a few shows, so here's my advice for what it's worth. Make sure you have a comfy place to sit or stand. My first few shows I set up a u shape booth with high grid walls - that covered every square inch of my space. I felt like a had no place to just hang back as customers approached. It became a little awkward. I found myself walking to neighboring booths to give people some space if they needed it. Now I make sure I have space behind my tables to sit and make visual contact with potential customers when needed. It is a little thing I did not think about before I started doing shows. Also, I would order business cards online. They have become so cheap nowdays, almost cheaper then doing it yourself - plus they look better. I ordered tableclothes online from a wedding/event tablecloth place. I got ones that went all the way to ground. I think they only cost my $18 a piece with shipping. Not too bad, but I know it all adds up. Have fun. Sounds like you will do great.
  23. My 11 year old daughter made an excellent blend the other day. She has a unique blending strategy. She pulls several FOs, usually 5 or 6, that she likes and just puts them together. She has surprised me numerous times with what she comes up with - they are usually pretty good. Here is her latest combo (that has kid written all over it): Country Apple(40%) toasted marshmellow(40%) amber, hot apple pie, Carribean coconut, autumn afternoon (fall leaf type FO). It's really yummy!! Burning it now, just for her. I don't know if that will help you specifically, but I would keep it sweet. Kids love sweet!! My other daughter(12) loves anything "pink sugar" or sweet vanilla.
  24. I love clarus 3022 mixed with igi 4794. It is a soy paraffin mix, but creamy looking and rich smelling, IMO. I do pop my clamshells or molds in freezer for a few minutes in order to release wax from sides. 3022 is a very soft container wax and 4794 is a harder votive wax.
  25. I would love to see it too! Would you just slice off or break off a piece and put in a warmer? Interesting idea!!
