  1. I'm glad to hear it. Keep us posted on all the testing. I'm so happy for you!
  2. Hi, Dillypooh. You have me curious on how you use the balls. Will you post pics?
  3. I think painting the peg board would freshen it up. I would also space your clamshells out and not make them so symmetrical. You could even print a few price signs or deal signs ( I.e. buy 4 get 1 free ) to mingle in with your clamshell display. Good luck. Looks like your on the right track. Make sure you post a picture of your final results.
  4. Looks like your ready. They look great. I understand your nerves. I have my second show in 2 weeks and I am going crazy.
  5. momtohaley - I think you are completely right. It would be wonderful if everyone was honest and upright, but it is just not the case. We have to protect ourselves and others around us. People have to know that there are consequences for hurting others and dishonesty! Good for you - for doing the right thing!
  6. Thanks, Steve. And good luck with your melts! They sound perfect for The holidays!!!
  7. Just realized I never gave you an update on my show. It turned out well in the end. I sold out of most of my holiday scents. And I learned tons. I'm excited for my next one in a few weeks. Got some good ideas. Hoping I have enough time to pull them off. I forgot to take picture. Next show for sure. Thanks, again, to all of you for your support and encouragement.
  8. So glad you all are getting your samples. I'm anxious to hear how it works for you. Keep us posted on your testing. And may the force be with you. Translation - Good luck with all you wax endeavors.
  9. Bella tart burning now for 40 hours. Just now faded. Filled my house with strong scent for 24 hours and nice subtle scent for next 12. It has a nice famine, sweet, powdery scent. I love it!
  10. I would give them a call or send them a direct email. I have only had extremely positive experiences with them. Brad and Melanie are fabulous. You can PM me and I will give you Melanie's email. She usually gets an order out to me within a day or two.
  11. I've tried a few of them in tarts and was not impressed. I used the SOS grade at 10% and none were strong enough to consider using. I was very disappointed. I did not think most of them smelled like scentsy scents at all. Here is my opinion on a few I tried: Spiced grapefruit - nice scent, liked this one, but not strong enough. I think this was close to scentsy Winter Wonderland - my favorite one of the group, smelled close to scentsy, minty fresh Tropical twist - horrible, had to throw away. Nothing like scentsy. You go girl and flirtaious - not very close to scentsy White tea and cactus - ok fresh scent, but not a scentsy dupe Guava nectar - yuck, throw away!!! Maybe if you use the more concentrated fos you will have more success than I.
  12. I am still searching for perfect container wick combo for 3022. I could not get htps or lxs wicks to work. CDs work best so far. You might want to look up posts or pm Chuck (Steve). He uses 3022 and knows what he doing.
  13. My favorite is 3022. I was so frustrated until I got introduced to this wax. Love, love, love. It is very soft - so for tarts, you will have to mix it with a harder wax. You can call Clarus wax and they will send you a free sample. They also have a 3020 wax that is like 6006. its a good one too. Good luck. Let me know what you think.
  14. I add 4794 at about 30%. It hardens it up nicely. It is softer than pillar or votive waxes, but it works for me. I have heard of some people using straight 6006 for tarts, but it was too soft for me.
  15. BTW-I use 6006 and 3022, which are both parasoy blends.
  16. I love bakery scents too. But they do not last as long as other types of scents. I am starting to think that is just how it is. Many of my tarts will last 24+ hours, but my bakery scents average 10-12. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in and tell us if it possible to get 20+ hrs in a sugar cookie or pumpkin souffle for example.
  17. I like 6006 in tarts, but my fav is clarus 3022. I add 20-30% 4794 to harden it up. I'm finally getting consistent results and lovely smells from my tarts. I get anywhere from 12 hrs to 40 hours depending on the FO. I'm still working on making bakery scents last longer. Not sure if it is possible, but I'll keep trying.
  18. Bella fragrance - same thing happened that JBN stated with fall festival. I made tarts out of sample FO and was not impressed with results. Ct and ht very faint. I opened up clamshell yesterday (2 months later) and it smelled fantastic. I'll put it in burner sometime this weekend to test ht. It might make it on reorder list.
  19. Thanks for all your support. The show is going fine. I am not selling as much as I was hoping, but I'm learning and figuring out what to do better in the future. A great first show, overall.
  20. Hope it works for you. I use it for everything. It has an awesome ct and ht with most fos. I also think it has a deep rich quality to it. My favorite combo for tarts is to mix it with 4794. I've tried many different combos and this works best for me. Good luck, report back to us on how it goes.
  21. I have a spreadsheet that sounds just like the one justajesuschick described. I have over 300 FO tested on it, and really only like about 10% of them. I have comments like "yuck", "made want to hurl", headache...or "keeper" ,"love"... I do have other useful comments on there, but have a notebook for detaied notes. Anyway, I am finding scent choice to be so subjective. I had a tester tell me the other day that "mistletoe" from CS was "horrifying". I was shocked. Such a strong word. Everyone else that has tried it has loved it. Crazy. You just never know.
  22. After almost 2 years of creating, experimenting, testing, almosting quitting, and trying again and again, I am finally selling at my 1st craft show/boutique. Wish me luck. I am scared. :smiley2:
  23. I love parasoy. It has a richer smell than straight paraffin. IMHO.
  24. I Just do tarts with it also. I'm still a novice at candle making - can't advise on this. Good luck.
