  1. I have seen in the "Soy and Soy Blend Recommendations" topic thread that some soy wax users add beeswax to help prevent frosting. I was wondering if this only helps with the initial frosting after pouring or if it helps with the frosting after burning. I have only work in paraffin, but purchased some soy candles from etsy to try out. With these candles, they looked good when I received them and had great scent throw, but after the first burning, they frosted. From what I read, it seems a paraffin and soy blend would prevent this, but I was wondering about the soy and beeswax blend. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  2. I've been selling candles online for almost a year and have been using paraffin wax for my candles and wax melts. For me paraffin wax is so easy to use and I get great scent throw. I have noticed that soy candle sales a generally much higher that paraffin wax and was wondering if anyone here who switched from paraffin to soy saw an increase in sales afterwards. I have been playing with the idea of trying out soy, but not sure if it would be worth it. Thank you.
  3. Has anyone had experience shipping candles made with IGI 4627. Being its such a soft wax, I was wondering how it would ship. I sell mainly wax melts online, but I am trying to find the right container wax for shipping. IGI 4627 seems to get good reviews whereever I look, but no one mentions shipping candles. Any help is appreciated.
  4. Thank you everyone for your help. I've ended up mixing 75% 4794 with 25% of the 4636. After they've set I put them in the freezer for a little while and then they pop right out. Thank you again.
  5. For both waxes I poured them at 150 degrees. My first test with 4794 I poured at 180 degrees and it seemed to melt the plastic a bit. After doing some research and then tried the 150 degrees. Any suggestions you have are welcomed. Thank you.
  6. I'm new to wax melts making and am having problems getting the wax to come out of the clamshells after setting. I have tried IGI 4794 and IGI 4786. I've tried different pouring temperatures, but they won't release. And when I say they won't release, I mean it almost takes an act of god to get them out. I also work with IGI 4636 and though about adding some of that to see if it made any difference, but thought I'd seek out some help here first. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
