  1. I've been on every suppliers site (not really, but it seems that way), checking out new fragrances to soap. I'm restocking some of our current oils, but would really like to find some new ones. I know there was a thread on favorite oils in cp/hp....I think I've keyed in every possible combination in the search engine. Again...these would be fo/eo for soaping, not putting in wax. Can any one take my by the hand and lead the way? (Oh, I've checked out Scents that Rock in CP, but one of the suppliers I'm looking at is AH and they aren't on there...am I over looking it somewhere)
  2. Very nice ... absolutely beautiful!
  3. I think for us...the perfect place is exactly where we are. We originally thought about a storefront, but have since changed our minds. Working out of our home when we either need to or want to, allows us the freedom we want, and not be tied down. We started out renting a booth inside a large storefront. We then were approached by one of the other vendors asking if we'd like to be in her new store opening up in another town....which we did. We then started going to a Farmers Market...and that's when things really started taking off. Now, we do two Farmers Markets a week, are in eight shops...some consignment and some are wholesale. We also do a few festivals a year...but not many. Also orders from our website.
  4. Southern states and Hawaii. Since we are in the south and near the ocean, we use a straight Jasmine and call it Seaside Jasmine ...it's a great seller for us.
  5. Right now we use Celestial Colors (love them) and a couple of mica/ultramarines. Think I'm going to look into the Select Shades and see how they compare with what we currently use though.
  6. Yeah, my "to do" list to soap new fragrances keeps growing. And that combination of VL and AA sounds wonderful...I love the Asian Amber anyway, so that would be a beautiful scent. Oh...to add to the thread of what we've soaped from CS: Black Raspberry Vanilla, Coconut Lime Verbena, Cool Citrus Basil, Green Tea & Lemongrass, Honeysuckle Jasmine, Jamaica Me Crazy, Lavender, Love Spell, Oakmoss & Amber, Plumberry, Pomegranate, Rain and Sage & Pomegranate.
  7. I haven't soaped that Candybee, but I bet that would make an awesome soap. Hopefully someone has soaped it and will chime in.
  8. Why does the Hawaiian Sandalwood have a minimum purchase of two? I checked the other scents and they say minimum one. Did I miss something?
  9. I agree with Candybee on the Indian Summer. Awesome scent and was such a huge seller for us. Hope they get that back! Didn't try it in soap, but was wonderful in candles. If they get it back and is b&b safe, we'll have to try to soap it.
  10. We have Square because it had been recommended by so many friends who own businesses or other small business owners. When it arrived, it also came with a stylus. Every time we process a card, the email we assigned to the account will receive a notice showing a new sale had been made and the total. My husband was in another state and I was at a Farmers Market...I kept getting these text messages from him..."way to go" and "nice job" and "wow...that was great" text messages...and it hit me that his email address was assigned as the notification. I like the fact that the money is in our account the next business day. We even dropped our online merchant account and now process all cards through Square bc it's so much cheaper. We got another reader for my husbands phone at Best Buy for $10.00 and they credited the $10.00 back when he used it. I'm not sure about Intuit, but we can also process cards without having the actual cc, but have basic information; cc #, exp date, code and zip code of the customer. I like the features of having the customer sign, and ask if they want an email receipt...and even if they want a pic taken of their product(s) and sent along with their email. People are always amazed and chuckle. I wish we had gotten it sooner. Oh...I'll tell ya what's really cool....When my husband works out of state, our bank is usually not in that state. So, he goes to buy a Visa gift card at Walmart and puts money on the gc....charges that amount to square and I have the money the next day. Small fee to pay for the security of getting the money, plus so quickly.
  11. I was just looking at one of WSP fragrances and for a 16 ounce bottle, it was $45.00ish and NG's was $15.00ish. That's absolutely ridiculous. Haven't used WSP Butt Naked in Bed, but have used NG's Butt Naked and have used it for some time and do very well with. I love WSP...but even when they have a sale, their prices are so stinkin high! So I've basically found other suppliers for the things I did order from them and phased them out altogether.
  12. I don't think you were here when we became members, but we've read your posts and tried your soap recipe...Wonderful! Welcome, Welcome Back!!
  13. I went to check supplies and do have a little grapefruit left from WSP...no ginger though. So when I place orders with our regular suppliers, I'll order in some samples of ginger and grapefruit and work up a few blends. Thanks guys
  14. We carry most of these scents and love em'. We do a blend, but also 464 by itself. We use 1 oz/lb.
  15. Yesterday we had a customer ask for this in our soap line. She said it was her absolute favorite. We have White Tea & Ginger and Bamboo & Grapefruit...but don't carry a Ginger Grapefruit. When I asked her which scent was more pronounced, she said she could smell them both equally. I've been searching the suppliers for this and the grapefruit was more dominant in their description. (think it was Sweetcakes, but I'm not sure. Will have to go back and look again). Is there a company that offers this oil that the notes are both the same. Or could it be that the customer just thinks she smells them both at the same time. Seems to me that the grapefruit would be the one that stands out with just a subtle hint of ginger. Gonna keep searching....
  16. Before I place any orders, I need to check my inventory. I may have WSP's Cinnamon already. (WooHoo... That would be great). But if I don't, I need to place orders with NG and AH/RE within the week. I think I'll order in a few samples. The Atomic Fireball sounds promising Thank you everyone for your suggestions...appreciate it very much.
  17. Can I ask where y'all are getting a cinnamon that is b&b safe? Seems like I've checked every supplier. I'm finding cinnamon blends (like apple cinnamon, etc), but not just cinnamon...and when i do, it's not skin safe...or, it's on the west coast and I'm on the east...shipping would be ridiculous.
  18. if so, how well does it sell for you? We never get requests for this and suddently in one day, we had two people requesting it. Is it popular with any of you, or is it just one of those scents that only a few like? I started searching the suppliers and searching the threads but it doesn't look like there are any suppliers that offer a body-safe cinnamon fo.
  19. I think we're going to give Himalayan Bamboo a try in HP. I love the scent and we have a customer wanting a scent that has this description. And Candybee...your soap sounds amazing...how did it turn out?
  20. That stinks. We soap their HJ, Rain and Lemon Verbena also. Since HJ is a great seller for us, we ended up doing a blend using Peaks Jasmine and their Honeysuckle. As for the Lemon Verbena, we have NG and Peaks on hand and they do well for us. As for Rain, if I'm not mistaken, it kinda smells like NG's Ocean Mist. I'll have to check it out since I have both. I'll work around the ones that have changed. But CS is so close to us, I hate to see so many changes that force us to go to other suppliers.
  21. Yep....just received the same reply. So very very disappointed. Bummed! Any suppliers out there that have a slammin' HJ like this?
  22. Just saw this thread...I went to CS to order more Honeysuckle Jasmine for soaping. It says its for candles only. I just checked my bottle and it's bath and body safe. Did this just change? I am soooo disappointed...this scent rocks in soap and is one of our best sellers
  23. I keep searching for this scent as well. That unmistakable smell when you get those sea salt notes in the air. We live near the beach...we have salt water all around us and I know what I'm looking for and still haven't found it either. What's so unfortunate is when a supplier will put "salty sea air" type words in their descriptions and when you get it, it smells "clean" and nothing like what I know salty sea air smells like Maybe some type of blend is in order. Gee...maybe I'll find it or come up with a blend before summer is over
  24. We've tried them all as well. The Pretty Kitty and Pooch Smooch are two oils that one of our wholesale customers orders all the time. She orders them in m&p. They are actually pretty nice scents. I've never used them in any other application besides m&p though.
  25. We have a wholesale customer that orders m&p soap and we use our heat shrinking system for her orders. We just slide the bars into the shrink wrap, seal & cut, and we use a hair dryer to shrink the film around the soap. We put her company label on and it looks perfect. She's been ordering these for a long time. We have a large order to do for her this week. The bars always look very professional and there have been no concerns over lack of scent. hth
