  1. Pumpkin Souffle (CS) Hot Orange Danish (NG) Honeysuckle Jasmine (CS)
  2. Yes, that is gorgeous. Love the color combination!
  3. Hey Darbla...I can't remember where I saw "brewed" coffee grounds during my research, but we just had a discussion on whether to use brewed or fresh (unused). The bottom line I guess...is the coffee grounds are going to be "wet" anyway once they are incorporated into the soap. Since coffee grounds don't dissolve, the soap wouldn't be any less exfoliating I wouldn't think. @blacktieaffair....wow, what a process you went through. But the end result is gorgeous! Thanks for the info on your process.
  4. Ditto...those are really nice Blacktieaffair! When you added the grounds as a layer in the middle, did it separate the layers any or did it mesh pretty well?
  5. @ TammyGCC...Gee after I read my post again, it made it sound like I wouldn't be willing to give my input, but send you on a mission "forever" to do research. I'm sorry...Here's some that move well for us: Pumpkin Souffle is by far our biggest seller in the Fall and Winter. We can't keep it stocked. We also sell a ton of Mistletoe, Honeysuckle Jasmine, Frank & Myrrh, Christmas Hearth, Christmas Tree, Cinnamon Sticks, Driftwood and Holly Berry during this time of year.
  6. I searched through our oils and found two ounces of CS Vanilla Hazelnut. We have no other coffee fragrances on hand (yet). For those that make coffee soap, if we use strong coffee instead of our Distilled Water for the lye solution and only two ounces of VH FO, would the final scent of the coffee be too strong for the Vanilla Hazelnut scent to come through? And would 1 T of brewed coffeed grounds be sufficient enough as a good exfoliator?
  7. Not scifichick either, but for us when we make soap or candles, we print out a form/chart that we use and document everything. So if we pour lets say Coconut Lime Verbena, Cool Citrus Basil, Black Raspberry Vanilla, etc....and those number 1-3 on the chart, they are stored in that same order. If labels are needed, we use the chart to order them.
  8. There's not too many fragrances from CS you can go wrong with. I went through each fragrance listed with 2 and 3 leaves. I read up on each one including all the comments posted by ones that have used them. Then I'd come back to the board and key that fragrance into the search engine and research away. We have alot of their oils and the ones we have work well in both soap and candles. Since the oils are on sale right now, you have the perfect opportunity to pick ones you may be interested in at half the cost.
  9. Thanks Candybee for your input on the Hazelnut Coffee. Your blend sounds wonderful and I hope it moves well for you this weekend!
  10. We've done both. I have learned a lesson though...we now wait to see if a particular scent and or product is going to move well before doing too many. If it doesn't move, then we're stuck with a bunch of labels. I have tons of labels printed for products we have decided to no longer carry
  11. With CS sale going on I want to pick up the Hazelnut Coffee...Anyone soaped this one yet? Sounds like it would be amazing!
  12. I only have AH/RE, but haven't used yet. Are you looking for an opinion on the scent or actual results in a product?
  13. I agree with bells4shells...we like their Frankincense & Myrrh as well. We soap it as well as pour candles with it. We also soap their Oakmoss and Amber, but have never poured it in wax. Their Driftwood is very nice!
  14. I would have never thought about soaping this until customers started requesting it. This is an amazing eo and I wish we had "found" it sooner. We soaped it by itself and wow it is strong. I didn't even realize the wonderful benefits from this eo. We took this to the market on Saturday and a different market yesterday and have two bars left! Who knew. So now I'm looking at doing a little blending....I'd love to do a Eucalyptus and Spearmint, but don't have Spearmint EO ...all we have is a FO from CS. Any suggestions for a replacement for Spearmint?
  15. We only HP and we've been pleasantly surprised at how well most of the fragrances do for us. We rebatched when we were learning CP, but with HP we never have. Personally I prefer HP...I find it easier on the oils, we can use less oil and we get to use our soap much sooner. (Just wish we had the beautiful swirls like the gals here have with their CP) I agree with kitn on NG's Cucumber Melon...the scent seemed to fade quite a bit...I love this fragrance, but it just didn't hold up that well for us. I may give it another shot in the spring.
  16. Thanks for your input guys....we had a farmers market yesterday and "do you have any coffee scents?" was asked. LOL...so, that is def on my list.
  17. Oh man...there are soooo many awesome sounding fall and winter fragrances out there!! I sent my daughter an email asking her to look over a few of the supplier sites and give me her opinion on some of the fo's and what would she buy. (I sometimes don't move outside the box and wanted a different opinion)....I'm going to get in soooo much trouble!!! Two of the scents she suggested was Cocoa and a Coffee fragrance. If you carry these, are they good movers for you this time of year?
  18. Welcome DillyDally!! Yep..you've come to the right place. I was thrilled when I found this board. Everyone is so helpful and willing to answer questions you may have. And I'm sure with your soaping experience, you'll be able to help all of us with questions we may have in that area as well. One of the features I found extremely helpful was the search engine...you can spend hours researching. Welcome!!
  19. Wow...I'm so envious...absolutely gorgeous!! Can't wait to see them cut!
  20. Even though I sent you a message Horsescents, I wanted to answer in case others were curious. She ended up buying in bulk and bought the bracelets wholesale and they are really nice and sturdy. They slide right on your wrist...they also have a little bit of flex in them to curve slightly for smaller wrists. The balls do screw off the ends which I like since we can change out the beads and spacers if we want to.
  21. Hot Orange Danish NG Pumpkin Souffle CS ---- we poured so much of this, it made me sick. HUGE seller for us Twigs & Berries NG Apples & Maple Bourbon CS Cherry Crumb Pie NG
  22. When we introduced Monkey Farts (soap) to our line, I was concerned people would be offended. So when we took the soap to shows/festivals/markets, people saw the soap label and we asked if they were offended and if they thought we should change the label. Everyone laughed and said "keep the name...it's hysterical". One woman who was probably 210 years old was offended. But we also realize some may be offended and just not say anything. Since my husband does all the graphics for us, I asked him to do two sets of labels...Monkey Farts and Funky Monkey. So yesterday, we took them both to the Farmers Market and not one bar of Funky Monkey sold...but the Monkey Farts did. We will continue to carry both and see what happens.
  23. So I was given the containers once the candles were gone. The marshmallow scent really pops out in the Marshmallow Fireside. As for Autumn, the Balsam is detected first, but those fruity notes are very present too. Not sure what stands out once they are burning, but at least this gives me an idea of what the CT is like
  24. Honeysuckle, Lavender, Lilac, Butt Naked, Black Canyon, Cool Citrus Basil, Coconut Lime Verbena, OMH, Sandalwood, Jamaica Me Crazy, Nag Champa, Rosemary Mint, Little Black Dress, Coconut Mango, Pineapple, Pearberry, Black Raspberry Vanilla and Almond. We do HP, but have a Wholesale account that is only MP and the fragrances listed above are some of the ones she consistantly orders.
  25. Haven't used SW Jasmine...but we use NG's Jasmine and sell tons of it in our HP Soap
