  1. No it would not be acceptable. Heck, I can do that on my own printer. If I am paying for professional labels, they better look better than that. Its not beyond their control and if it is, they shouldn't be selling labels. May I ask who you ordered these from?
  2. They discontinued a few scents earlier this year. I think they did announce it. There was a thread here about all of the discontinued ones and they were in their clearance section for a while. If you do a search you should be able to find the thread. Maybe someone mentioned a good replacement. I remember that the chocolate biscotti was one of the discontinued scents but I don't remember them ever having a Cafe Mocha.
  3. My November shows are all about Christmas. By mid November my customers are done with fall.
  4. Also, if you make anything besides candles, you can try it in a different application. I have found that a scent I hate in candles I might love in a bath and body product.
  5. That blend sounds retro. How about "1969" There's a big 60s trend going on now.
  6. You can also use the heat gun on the outside to show more of the chunks. Depends on the look you're going for.
  7. How about the little bags made of netting that people use for wedding favors? Or, if you don't have too many, you could make your own boxes out of poster board and then tie with a pretty ribbon.
  8. Pretty fall colors. Would look great with a little string of raffia tied around it. (Removed of course before lighting.)
  9. I would be interested in hearing about the orange ginger, rjdaines. Especially OOB for potpourri.
  10. Is it possible that she has you confused with another candle stand that is at that same market?
  11. I don't know of any american suppliers that list their oils by fluid ounces. But you didn't say who you are buying from. Is this a company or an individual?
  12. I use C3 and Ecos. I would think that Eco 10/12 would be WAY too big for that container. If it were me, I would start with Eco 4 which will probably still be too big but I don't use anything smaller than that. I would try maybe LX 12?
  13. Some of this is personal preference so trying different methods for yourself will be helpful in that regard. You can read someone else's results but until you actually see (or smell, in this case) it for yourself, you won't really know what you prefer.
  14. Its better to test your candles using proper burning procedure and then do a power burn to see what happens in that situation.
  15. Is it the same type of raspberry as their Sun Ripened Raspberry only with vanilla? Or do you detect a whole new scent?
  16. Aren't you putting the cart before the horse? Have you made a candle yet? In any event, there is no guarantee that a manufacturer won't go out of business or reformulate your favorite oil. There's also no guarantee that your customer's favorite scent this year will be the same next year. Its a fluid business.
  17. I like your final version. I think its a keeper.
  18. I would never do 2 ounces pp. That is too expensive and a waste of FO. My range is 1.25 - 1.5 pp. I use C3 but I used to use GB464 and I used the same ratio. Some scents are just light scents and nothing will make them power scents.
  19. Orange, cherry and dreamsicle are good for kids.
  20. You can use those serving trays that keep food warm. You can sometimes find them at yard sales.
  21. I think its a good idea to wait to come up with a business name. Some of the best names are founded on special circumstances. You might find that while you are making candles, the perfect name comes to you that means something special to you and your daughter.
  22. Where would you put the wax? I'm not seeing how it would be used for our purpose. The reason we can use the other turkey fryer for wax is because the melted wax takes the place of the oil. But this one is oil free... [insert shoulder shrug emoticon here...I haven't found them yet on the new board]
