  1. Are these for yourself or to sell. If they are for personal use, all of those waxes would work but they are soft. If you are going to sell them, you should probably find a wax that is a little harder. I'm not sure about soy125, never used it.
  2. It varies...like some days its Heaven and some days its Hell. Actually, my candle area is in my basement and I don't really call it anything. I also have a craft room upstairs and its just my "craft room" or "middle room." Not very imaginative, I know." What ideas do you haver fo your room?
  3. Craft show this weekend so nothing in my pot. Trying to sell what's been in my pot other weekends Oh, but I did make some Hazelnut Cream this morning.
  4. Life is short. Use whatever wax would make you happy. There's a ton out there. Why stay with one that frustrates you. It will only keep frustrating you. Whether a hobby or business, why make it more difficult than it is?
  5. Yes, its not only normal, its necessary. Without the wick tab, your wick will not stand up for burning. You need to attach the wick tab to the bottom of your jar before pouring. There are various methods which have been discussed on the forum so you might do a search. I use GE silicone to attach mine and then pour the next day. There are other methods.
  6. I think the current artsy crowd is more likely to be the opposite, like vegan and into reducing their carbon footprint. At least the ones I know are that way. They are very into upcycling. Maybe I'm thinking of a different artsy crowd.
  7. I've seen it referred to as handmade glycerine soap just so customers who know the difference have something to go by.
  8. I had it happen once with an underwicked candle.
  9. Solid perfumes come to mind. Body sprays in pretty packaging. Funky names on ordinary products.
  10. I can never tell much off of a first burn unless its really wrong. Post some pics of the second and third and it will begin to tell the story. Agree that its a tough container to wick being square.
  11. apple orange just about any berry or fruit would blend well
  12. Heck, I heat gun on a table covered with newspaper. Its only a quick shot so it doesn't really matter.
  13. Maybe set up a temporary pouring table inside the house. You can still melt wax and do all the messy stuff in your garage but bring your pour pot inside to pour the candles and let them cool. Not sure if this is an option for you or how many candles you're trying to pour at one time. If its only a dozen or two, they shouldn't take up much room and would cool in an hour or two, ready for packing away.
  14. I would think that the vanilla in the Vanilla Hazelnut Coffee would make it pretty creamy. You can call it anything you want.
  15. Don't rub it in We're having a snow storm today!
  16. I pour at 160-165. I do not cover my candles when they are cooling. When I tried that, the tops were not smooth for me. You will have to try different things to find what works for you. Pouring hot without covering gets me smooth tops.
  17. Hazelnut Pumpkin, Mistletoe, Caramel Brulee, Cinnamon.
  18. If you have a nice strong cinnamon oil, you might start with a 3:1 or even a 4:1 ratio and work up from there.
