  1. Is that a glare on the lit picture or is the flame that big? I agree with Stella, I think it is overwicked. Eco 14 is a really big wick. If it were me, I would pour another and go down two wick sizes, actually. Try an Eco 10 just to see what happens. You might even go as low as an Eco 8.
  2. I use C-3 with eco wicks and the scent throw will knock you out the door. What FOs are you using? How long have you been working with 3? If only for a short while, you might want to try a little longer because I've never really heard scent throw in C3 being a big issue.
  3. I have about 3 pounds of the Sage and Pom from CS that my customers are mediocre about although I kind of like it. I sell more of the Green Tea and Lemongrass than the Sage and Pom for my customers who want a spa type scent. I sell enough to keep making it but I'm not sure I'll buy more FO when I'm out. I actually thought about adding a pound of the straight pom to sweeten the Sage and Pom a little. I'll have to play with it a little, I guess.
  4. If you're talking about the new one, I tested it in soy and thought it was too sweet on its own. Maybe as a mixer it would be good. And it would probably be really good in B&B. But for me, it was almost gaggy sweet. I didn't even finish the tester.
  5. Do you need a preservative for MP soap if you add butters to it? How about if you add sugar to it (like a scrub bar)? TIA
  6. It's beautiful. What is the design called? My grandmother used to make quilts and made me one of those sampler quilts made up of all different patterns that I still have. I tried quilting one time and quickly found out I did not have the necessary patience. Wish I did because I think quilts are wonderful.
  7. Haha, you dream. per chance? LOL Too hot for a jar is when its too hot to pick up with your fingers and carry comfortably to another location. That's my criteria, anyway.
  8. I know there's some controversy on this scent but I have to say that it is my favorite vanilla ever. Whenever I want to burn a candle for my own enjoyment, this is the one I burn. I'm a vanilla fan, though. I use C3 and I use it not only in candles but in some wax items I make which rely on cold throw only and it is extremely strong for that application. The only thing I don't like to use it for is OOB like pot pourri or sachets. I think it has an alcohol smell to it OOB. I've used it for about 3 or 4 years, I think and I've never had a bad batch but I do buy it in 5 pound containers so maybe that helps, IDK. I love the creaminess of it.
  9. I've been carrying it for about three years so its not that new. It seems to go over better with younger women. I didn't change the name. It doesn't fly out the door for me but sells well enough to keep it as a staple. I think its a nice non-foodie alternative scent.
  10. You should put the minimum weight on the label. Its okay for the candle to weigh more than the stated weight but not less.
  11. I went to one in a VFW one time and nobody came. But I sold to every other vendor there because there was nothing else to do. But nothing irritates me more than to go to a show and find out there are no signs. I mean, come on! If you take my money, at least get out there and put up a few signs.
  12. Well, I disagree that Peak and Candlescience do not sell quality oils. What is the issue that you're having that would lead you to make that assessment?
  13. Just wanted to say I love the "Fun Fact" thing on your label! And what everybody else said about pricing.
  14. I thought I'd share my thoughts on the new Pomegranate at CS. I have been burning it off and on for about a week in C3. At first, I wasn't impressed with the throw but that is improving a lot with some cure time. I never tried any other pom oil so I don't really have anything to compare it to. Cold throw is nice and fruity. Hot throw is sweet, sickeningly so. I detect a vomit note but that happens to me sometimes with sweet scents and tropical scents so its probably just me. In short, I think this would be a better mixer than standing on its own. I'm thinking of mixing it 50/50 with CS Sage and Pom which I already have but is a slow mover. Maybe the fruitier scent would move it better. With all that being said, I bet it would be great in a B&B product.
  15. Some extra silicone molds so I can do bigger batches. And someone to clean my house and workshop so I can start fresh in the new year. Everything's a mess with the busy season.
  16. I never wash my pour pots. Pour, drain, wipe with paper towels. I'm dye free so I don't have to worry about color and what little scent is left as residue does not affect the next batch. If its a super, super strong scent, I might let it "air out" overnight before using it for the next scent. Been doing that way for years and its never been a problem
  17. You'll never win this one. Even if you could completely contain the scent, which I doubt, people would still complain. They would be convinced they smell the candles even if they didn't. But I don't think you can contain the scent anyway. When I am in production in my basement, my neighbors tell me that my house smells good - from the sidewalk!
  18. 50 pounds of wax = 800 ounces of wax by weight 1 pound of wax = 16 ounces. 16 x 50 = 800
  19. They probably canceled your order because you said you were going to give them a neutral rating. I don't think ebay allows you to rate them if the order was canceled. Not sure though.
  20. I have about 20 more gift baskets to make to finish orders and then I'm going to put up my tree. Since the beginning of November, I've made 75 gift baskets, every one different. I'm almost out of gift basket juju
  21. I don't know much about Eo blends but if you can get your hands on some arnica, it really works.
  22. I got a sample of Pomegranate from CS to try and put it in wax yesterday. Smells yummy OOB. I just wanted to smell something besides all these heavy food scents that my customers want this time of year.
