I started smelling a caramel-type scent a few days ago in the room where I keep me candle stuff and I finally found where it's coming from. You know when air leaks from your bottles and the bottle gets "skinny" through the middle? Well, my caramel pecan from Ky did that to the point the plastic bottle cracked open and leaked scent all over my carpet. Of course, it was a 16oz. bottle that was nearly full. Anyway, what is the best thing to get this stuff out of my carpet? Also, I'll never pour this scent again I'm so tired of smelling it---uugghh!!! Thanks!!

I have tried many coconut scents and my favorite is from the Scent Works. My second favorite is from MMS, although I do pick up slight hints of pineapple in the background, but I love it. For a sweet coconut, I like Caribbean coconut from the Scent Source. I didn't care for Peak's in my wax formula. HTH

J&J bedtime bath (I love this all year, though), Caribbean coconut--that's all I can think if right now. I know I'll think of some more as soon as I post.

Beth, My mom made 2 jean quilts for twin size beds for my brothers when they were younger. She backed them with red bandana material. My brothers still have them today and their kids use them. I'm sure your granddaughter's will be perfect and she'll LOVE it because it was made by grandma!

Thanks everybody! I'm gonna keep saving the t-shirts so the quilt will be big enough to cover a full size bed--so glad I started early!

I WANT ONE for this next Christmas!!!

I have been saving my son's t-shirts because eventually I want to have a quilt made for him. I have 2 questions--how many t-shirts do I need to save for a full-size quilt and is it a big deal if they are different sizes? He LOVES anything Star Wars so I've saved all of those but the size of the t-shirts range anywhere from 5 to 10/12 and I'm still saving them. I've also got a few other graphic tees he loves (Phineas and Ferb, Mickey Mouse from our trip to Disneyworld, etc.) What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Yes Chuck_35550, both the regular creme brulee and the creme brulee supreme remind me of Ky's old formulation, the supreme is just stronger. (LOVE that scent--alone and as a mixer)

Another vote for The Candle Source's cinnamon & sandalwood. I also love their J&J Bedtime bath--my personal favorite from them.

I love their graham cracker (use it alone and as a mixer). I'm not a big patch fan but really did like the Tuscan patchouli. I also really like their sugar cookie, Mexican vanilla, creme brulee supreme, and cedar & saffron. I did NOT like the pineapple slices.

Ky's, Southwest Candle Supply (formerly Just by Nature), and Starville (now Tyler) all smell similar to me and I LOVE them! Southwest also has a creme brulee deluxe--pricey but I did use less fo per pound and it smells just like the regular creme brulee only richer and stronger.

The vanilla extract was nice with good throw, but the vanilla bean was a deeper, richer vanilla. Neither had buttery notes and both were only mildly sweet. I liked the vanilla bean the best of the 2 and would consider using it as my vanilla.

I use Southwest Candle Supply's graham cracker and it, to my nose, smells similar to BW honey gingerbread.

I poured pumpkin pie (OT) using my parasoy blend, into my 15oz. dodecagon jars, using 60-44-18Z wicks--used and did everything the same as I always do. About 1/3 of the way down the jar, the flames got smaller and eventually drowned out. The top half of the burned wicks are a light gray/ash color while the bottom half of the burned wick is black. What the heck is going on? Usually they will burn straight down with no drag on the sides of the jar. The wicks aren't a new batch nor is the scent. The wax is a new box, but I've been pouring other scents with it that have burned just fine. Just when you think you're doing things right and consistently, a kink gets thrown in . . . . . .

cactus & sea salt is very nice--clean and green; bahama mama is nice, too. Her caramel cinnamon latte is wonderful and strong. The cranberry orange used to be my personal favorite, but the last bottle I purchased smelled different--not completely different but enough so I noticed the difference. The iced cinnamon buns is a nice cinnamon/vanilla and the pumpkin pie spice is strong and spicy, which I really like.

That's what I did last year when I made some m&p soap with red curls in it--called it peppermint twist.

Oriental Trading has really cute ones for Christmas, too. What a great ideal--I may have to make some m&p with these little bendables in them.
