  1. LOL, I know what you mean about these snowballs. I love the looks of them, but I hate to make them, so I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way. Your snowball looks great though, very nice job
  2. That's great news!!!! I love to hear these stories, some people just don't realize the sweat, tears and money that goes into making a good candle, so this sort of story warms my heart.
  3. Very professional looking as always. Never get tired of looking at your set ups.
  4. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5066 Here is others ideas of packaging tarts, including mine. HTH
  5. I use both the chips and the liquid, just depending on what color I'm after. I can't seem to get just the right color with just one or the other, so it keeps me happy to have both around
  6. I have to agree, you can't go wrong with Peaks, they have wonderful FO's. Give them a try........and you can't find better customer service.
  7. If you plan on pouring a lot of tealights, invest in a mold from candlewic. It will save you a lot of time and head aches. Otherwise, pour cool with the wick in place or insert after you pour, it's easy if you have the 15mm tabs to get them into the indent inside the tealight cup.
  8. What Scented says is true, a dark cool place is very important. Also it just depends on the FO. I have some that are 5-6 years old and still smell fine, but I've had one certain oil that I couldn't keep more than about 6 months, it always would turn rancid on me so I just quit using it, LOL. Your nose will tell you when it's no good any longer, but you'll be amazed at how long they will last if stored properly.
  9. Beautiful!!! Can't add anything else to what others have said. You deserve a pat on the back for all your hard work, it really shows.
  10. I'm on the same base as those above. Love the foamers at the sink and the disc cap in the shower.
  11. Oh, I agree. Steph and Robert will bend over backwards to make sure you get what you want, great customer service!!

    SFIC clear M&P

Thought I better add to my post above. I just read on another board that the Crystal Clear from SFIC has been modified and is now very clear, but with the added glycerin you may notice some sweating. I have not tried this soap since it's been modified so my post above should be ignored, since it appears I don't know what the heck I'm talking about

    SFIC clear M&P

I never had any luck with the SFIC clear, but I love all their other soap bases. I had to use the crystal clear from WSP for my fish in a bag soaps, it was the only soap that stayed crystal clear. I, like you, like the ingredients from SFIC, but even without any FO I just couldn't get a crystal clear soap from it.
  14. You can also print up your own caution labels for your tarts if you want. Doesn't matter where you get them, as long as you use them. You always want to make sure people know about the warnings, you'd be surprised what some people will do, claiming they just didn't know. At least if you've tried to educate them, you can sleep at night. If they don't want to read it then that's something you have no control over. Levine is a great place for tart warmers. I think there is a co-op going on right now for them.
  15. Looks great and I bet it smells wonderful. Yes, you can use WM plastic wrap, that's what I use.
  16. Beautiful Mardi Gras colors, nice job!!
  17. I always moisturize after using the OCM. I don't find the OCM dries my face, but with aging skin I don't think it ever hurts to have a little moisturizing cream or lotion on my face.
  18. You've had some good advice here. I agree with 'soaking' your picture in the wax for a bit to make sure all the air bubbles are off. I then place my picture in place and use cheap wooden skewers to rub from the middle out, just to make sure all the air bubbles are out. I then use a COLD cloth and hold it on the area where the picture is, and soon as I see the wax turn white I put it in my water bath. Don't give up, practice really does make perfect, and like Donita said, just peel off the picture, remelt the wax and start all over, no waste....gotta love that!!
  19. I think you've done a great job with them, and I love the way you have them packaged.
  20. Looks like an air pocket. Did you poke your relief holes? If so how many did you poke?
  21. I feel the same way as you having strangers in my home, so I don't do open house shows. But I do house parties, and I love them. Usually most of the people know everyone there so it's a lot of fun. They come to buy, so you always make good money. I'd rather do house parties than anything else, but I won't do an open house at my home. I'd rather think of myself as being safe, not paranoid. These days you just never know. Better safe than sorry, any day of the year. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. And yes, get your money up front for any order you take. At my house parties I usually take what I have in stock, and I try to make sure I have enough, but I'll always take orders. I do find people really like to take their goodies home with them the same night though.
  22. They all look great, and I really love the shape of the scalloped pillar. Nice job!!!
  23. Wow, I don't even make soap, but I think that is a beautiful bar of soap!!
  24. I have to agree with Genwax for the Luscious Lilac, and I must have tried every Lilac out there, LOL. I also found that SW Lilac is just as good.
  25. My thoughts exactly. Glad to know I'm not the only one who's confused to this "new" policy that I can't seem to find.
