  1. Very nice, and the coloring is wonderful.
  2. I never had a lot of luck double wicking, let alone single wicking those dang jars. Seems I get soot with most any type of wicking I use in those jars, and I am anal about soot I have some oils that I can double wick very well, but others I can't, so I gave up on them since I don't want to pick and choose my oils by the jar I use.
  3. I have the same thoughts about people tossing in a tealight and not centering, even though I have it spelled out on my warning. I think it was Dee, might be wrong, but she was putting a small piece of tile in the bottom, while the wax was still soft. Thought it was a good idea, but never did try it. I made these for each table at my daughters wedding, I put a piece of cork in the bottom (very think piece of cork) and used a votive, burned for about 7 hours and I had many where the cork was melted to the wax, couldn't get it out, and a few that had melted wax on the sides. I didn't care, it was for my own use, but people out there just don't read, they will burn them all night. I only use tealights with mine, and suggest using only tealights. I give them a glass tealight holder with a 6 pack of tealights, hoping they will actually use the tealights.
  4. You can tell hubby that we don't take classes, it's just a lot of trial and error and an extreme amount of money, it probably would be cheaper to take a class, LOL.
  5. Ash, don't give up. These really do take practice. You have to make sure there is no wax under your picture, I use 2 skewers, and rub each way, from the middle to the outside of the picture. You will see the bubbles release. Then get a cold cloth on the picture right away to hold it in place. I use a paint bucket from Walmart for my water bath, it's nice and small. I put a black mark on the inside of the bucket so I know exactly how far to fill it. Stick your mold into the water bath, but not for to long. I use 2 pieces of lead that hubby cut for me that lay right across my mold and it holds it down. My hurricane never forms a film on top. I usually don't even let it sit in there for 10 minutes, I like 1/4" to 3/8" shell. Dump your wax out fairly fast, or it leaves a mess inside. Then just cool it on the counter. When you get it all figured out it only takes about 15 minutes from start to finish to do one of these, they can be very easy. Nice thing is there is no waste, just peel off the picture and remelt the wax to start it again, I even reuse the picture.
  6. I'm in awe. It's just amazing what you do.
  7. I use the same method as Glowlite, works great, and no clean up, just toss the zip lock baggie into the garbage.
  8. Those are also my favorite pillars, glad to see them again. You would not believe the time spent and wax used trying to create a pillar just like it...with little to no luck Still have the only one that came close, I'll never burn that bugger, it's so special to me.
