  1. I use RRD's and ECO's. Again,I use different jars. In a 2 1/2 inch metro jar without dye, I can usually get by with a 40 or 47. I have a small 2 oz metro jar with a 2 inch diam. and I wick that with ECO's anywhere between a 1 - 4. I've been having a little hang up on scents I normally don't have problems with. I think it's because it's been sooo cold. HTH.
  2. Thanks again. I do burn 'til all the wax is consumed but I have not power burned. Your replies are always very helpful .
  3. Thanks. It will help to speed up testing too . Shine
  4. I have been doing 4 hour test burns on my 2 1/2 inch diameter candles but I'm wondering if I can decrease to 3 hours. How many hours does everyone tend to use to conduct test burns? Shine
  5. Thanks Ronnie & Carole. It helps alot . Shine
  6. I have only sold my candles at one show this past summer and haven't done any more selling since then. I'm not a very good business person. I have continued testing, testing and testing. My DH is driving me crazy telling me, I'm too much of a perfectionest and I just need to get my candless out. Where I need help is that I just received an e-mail from someone who purchased some of my candles. She is a massage therapist and would like to sell my candles in her office. I don't know how to proceed. How much do I sell my candles to her for? Do I give her x amount of candles and have her pay me a percent of what she sells or do I bill her up front and what she doesn't sell is her loss? I don't even know if I'm asking the right questions or even how to do a search to find the answers:confused: . Like I said, I am not a business person. I much better at the manufacturing end. I believe I have a good product. I have insurance and a business license. I just don't know how to proceed. I'm in desperate need of advice. Thanks,Shine
  7. I'm not sure why they are white and frosty. I'll heat gun the tops of mine until there is about a 1/16th to an 1/8th of melted wax all across the top. Then I keep zapping the little bubbles that come up untill they're gone. I've never had luck with heat gunning the sides of jars. If I get wet spots, I just leave them alone. HTH, Shine
  8. GW444. I've been using 1.5 oz per pound of wax. Shine
  9. While testing a bunch of candles, I've noticed some brown stuff in the melt pool right next to the wick in about a 1/3rd of the candles. I've never had this happen before. These candles have cured a long time 3-4 months. I'm wondering what the brown gunk is? Too much FO??? Shine
  10. Yep, that happened to me too but the heat gun helped the problems with the tops. I thought I was a pro with my first 50# batch of 444. Then on my second and third 50 pounders I've had trouble with the tops. They continue to have an awesome cold and hot throw so I'm sticking with the 444 and zapping the heck out of the tops. HTH, Shine
  11. I love this scent (Fireplace) from NG OOB and for cold throw but I have a really weak hot throw from it. I'm using GB444 with 1.5oz FO pp. I've tested with 2 different wick sizes. Has anyone gotten a good hot throw from it using soy? Thanks, Shine
  12. Thanks Stella. I appreciate your experience and quick replies . Shine
  13. I have Fresh Sliced Cucumber from AH. It smells just like real cucumber OOB but I have not put it in wax yet. HTH, Shine
  14. How do you measure your flame height? Do you measure from the surface of the melted wax to the tip of the flame or do you measure from the tip of the wick to the tip of the flame or some other way? I'm trying to get more specific in my testing standards. I use to just document flame height by small, medium, large etc. but I noticed I can be inconsistant in my observations. Also I mostly use RRD's and they mushroom awful. The shroom makes it hard to measure flame height. Thanks for your input, Shine
  15. I seem to miss all the sales. I just recieved my order from BCN:cry2: . Shine
