  1. I'm going to guess...soy on the bottom, gel on the top.
  2. I need to make some of these also. I'm going to cut mine before pouring soap over them. I going to use a mold of some kind, but I have done it without putting the slices in anything. Just lay on wax paper, pour a little soap at a time. If you're doing several in the same scent...by the time you pour a little on each one...the first one is ready for more. Just keep pouring until it looks like you want. It's been a couple years since I've made any of these. You can also grind the loofah up in a coffee grinder and then pour soap over it. I might try that...just happen to have a coffee grinder that's not being used.
  3. I have Windows XP on my laptop. Works good and was easy to learn.

  5. I love it. A dozen tarts will look nice with tissue paper between the layers.
  6. Sometimes you can find silicone molds at Michael's that can be used for melts/tarts.
  7. If I relied on my co-workers and friends to support me...I'd really be in the poor house. Don't give up. There are lots of people in the United States. It takes a lot of advertising and work to sell anything. Keep your chin up, keep making your soaps and write your goals (what you want out of a soap business) down.
  8. You're welcome. This is true. When one thing is changed, testing starts all over again.
  9. Hi and welcome. Add a little bit at a time of black or brown to your color. Test your color by dropping a little on a white paper towel/plate or on wax paper. Let it set up to see the end color.
  10. You're welcome. You will find the search feature to be a good friend.
  11. Hi Lisa...Welcome. I have no suggestions for you. Have you used the search feature here? Most of the time you can sub one oil for another. I would have to research Monoi butter to give you a better answer.
  12. Your site looks really good. My site is done with weebly and a paypal shopping cart. When the zip code is put in, I hit calculate and the shipping and tax are included. The customer knows the total before payment information. It has to be a setting in the set up of the your cart. I have no idea...it's been a while.
  13. I add several things to my melt & pour base. honey, shea/aloe butter, shea butter, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil. I don't add all of these at one time though. Just add one or two things in small amounts and see how they work for you. There's a bath & body picture section.
  14. You're welcome and yes they are easy.
  15. I use straight fo and a small paint brush. Paint one side, let it dry, paint the other side. I usually do a couple thin coats.
  16. Yes...it's called low sweat http://www.peakcandle.com/products/Low-Sweat-White-Melt-and-Pour-Soap-Base__MP1009.aspx http://www.peakcandle.com/products/Low-Sweat-Clear-Melt-and-Pour-Soap-Base__MP1010.aspx
  17. I use the cp m & p base in clear and white. I like it. I add oils, butters, and honey to it. Peaks and Brambleberry's both carry it. I order from both of them and there is not a difference in the base. The cp mp can be wrapped in paper or not at all. I put mine in organza bags with a hang tag label.
  18. I voted...southern sunshine. I'm so tired of winter.
  19. Good Morning; Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. Remember to use the search feature first though. Everyone of us was new at one time.
  20. I don't have any ideas for you, but I want to follow this thread.
  21. Yes, you are reading it correctly. I don't remember, but you might have a setting that needs to be check marked for them not to need a paypal account to pay you. I know on mine (business account), people don't need to have a paypal account to pay me.
  22. Merry Christmas everyone. Stay safe and have fun.
  23. Silicone molds are great for making melts/tarts. The ones with 12 cavities should make a 1 oz. melt. The bigger ones are great for soaps. The price is good.
