  1. Count me in the weird group if that's where I belong cause I love these.
  2. As always, your soaps are a pleasure to see. Thanks for sharing!
  3. They're all beautiful, Richard. Living on the beach, I tend to like the set on the left the best! I can't help myself when it comes to "beachy" looking candles! You and Tracy do beautiful work!
  4. Southern Garden Scents has a wonderful Peppermint Vanilla that Diana used in a scrub demo at a conference. I've been wanting to get that one but haven't yet.
  5. I buy those "matchstick" lighters for my personal use at home and pay $4.95 ea for them.
  6. Cathy, I've got a good many of the glass embeds from AH. I'm at the office now and would have to dig them out at home. If I remember correctly, I have more sealife types than any others. BTW--I've always admired your gel candles!
  7. I love the pies but don't sell a lot of them. I now only make them up to order and a few for festivals. They've been around for quite a while. I originally found them on ebay, and they had a good rating. I've ordered crusts and embeds from several people that were really nice, but I finally bought a couple of molds to make my own a couple of years ago.
  8. Wow, that's a company I haven't thought about in a long time. I never ordered much because of shipping since I'm on the east coast. I don't remember having any problem with anything I did get, though. I mainly bought stuff for gel candles and haven't for a while. Whatcha looking for, Lisa? I've got tons of porcelain and glass embeds that will probably never get made cause I just haven't had the urge to make those candles in a few years.
  9. I'm sure the pics do not do it justice. I can just imagine how stunning it must look up close and personal. You do beautiful work.
  10. Those are really pretty and definitely for fall!
  11. It's definitely a nice tool to have when working with wax. I always stir before checking the temp, too. It's also great for checking the lye mixture temp.
  12. I've got one and absolutely love it. Mine's not here with me, and I don't remember the brand right offhand. It was about $110.
  13. I think Tammy just did one on another forum. I order mine from the same place she does the coop www.arizonavanilla.com
  14. However you got that effect, it makes them look like I can almost smell them through the computer. Fabulous.
  15. When I first heard of it, I thought it was to get the fish stink off, too. But, after doing a little research I found that the purpose is to mask the "human" smell from your hands. I found many sites selling it, and some users swear that the fish are also attracted to it somehow. One of the guys I work with says he sees it in different bait and tackle shops. I made a batch using anise, but it's still on the curing rack.
  16. DH and I both lather with the wc and bathe with the wc. I've done this since childhood. When I use gel, I use a pouf.
  17. I used AH Pumpkin Pie Spice in soy container candles a few years ago, and it's quite strong. I found one that was at least 3 yrs and burned it recently, and the scent throw was still as strong as ever.

I'm another Stone Stew fan! Her stuff is awesome.
  19. Beautiful! I'm getting ready to soap this fo, but I doubt mine will look as wonderful as yours!
  20. WOW! That's one of the prettiest candles I've ever seen.
  21. I see you've been busy, and everything looks great. I'm envious since I've got renovations going on and haven't been able to make a thing.
  22. I don't see why jojoba beads would be a problem. I've added a very small amount of jojoba beads in a facial bar for a little gentle exfoliation. When I first heard the term "fisherman's" soap, I initially thought that its purpose would be to take away the stinky on hands. As one who wants to elimate that smell off me asap, I did a little more reading and found that the main purpose is to mask the human smell. So, I left out the scrubbies. I've somewhat changed my mind, though, and will add something in the next batch cause I like scrubbies in my "utility" soaps.
  23. I haven't put anything extra in for texture but think I'm going to try a little pumice in my next batch.
