  1. actually, HTP 105 or 104 just might work. I've used it in 5oz apothecaries before. LX24 will probably be too big. (referring to C3, I don't use the glass glow)
  2. I use Nu-Scents oils and many of them are good. I believe they have a steep handling fee, so you may want to check that out before you order. I generally pick up and avoid the fee. Some of their scents are some of my best sellers (Fresh Apple, Vanilla Coconut, English Ivy, Cantaloupe Lily). I haven't had any customer service problems, though I wish they'd tell me when something is out of stock. I've only had two issues, and they've corrected both times. eta: If you need to contact them other than placing an order, I recommend a phone call over e-mail. Can be slow to respond via e-mail.
  3. I think you should be able to get insurance without much problem. Maybe mention to the agent you speak with that you don't own the property, but I know we have people on here who work out of apartments.
  4. Those are amazing! Now I need a cookie...
  5. Beeswax makes it harder, therefore more cracks. Jen, I haven't used P1 but believe they're coming out with another pillar wax soon. I add a little container wax to their votive wax for my melts and votives.
  6. Plastic canvas isn't very difficult to do while reclining. I think there are even some baby patterns available. Counted cross stitch, sewing by hand, friendship bracelets. Oh, some people make girls' hair bows and I imagine that could be done while reclining. Would be esp fun if she's having a girl.
  7. I haven't even tried the auction sites to sell my candles, so I can't compare. I've had my current website for one year. My site does come up through searches in Google and other search engines, and I haven't done anything other than fill in some meta tags at my host. Searches pick up words that aren't in my tags, too. I use wahmshoppes.com It is only $7/mo, comes with a shopping cart, and it has an active forum if you need any help. It's not very difficult to set up, either. HTH a little!
  8. Heat gun. That's what I do. I poke a hole in it too, especially if there's an indentation because sometimes there's a hidden sink hole.
  9. Use tax is for things you use but don't sell. Even candles you take for yourself, you'd pay the tax on the cost of the supplies for that candle. Prestos or pour pots, for instance you'd submit as use tax. Anything that's not for resale, I believe. I haven't submitted any use tax either because those things I use I bought at a regular store and just pay the sales tax. And I believe, testing products does not qualify for use tax.
  10. I don't do this, but my daughter's birthday wasn't that long ago. She's not the age to make B&B items yet, but charges are generally per child with a minimum number of kids. I'd think you could do $7-10 per girl for one item and add a few dollars for each additional item (depends on the product of course) they choose to make. You'd want to set the time you would be there as well, so they don't expect you to stay for the whole party. Maybe have a larger or different product for the birthday girl. I'd require a deposit, too. Sounds like it could be fun! Mineral Girlz is a company that offers party packs for mixing FO and color to bases, the quality isn't what yours would be but it'll give you an idea of their prices: http://www.mineralgirlz.com/party.htm
  11. If those cracks were small, hairline cracks, I wouldn't be too worried. At least you didn't have a sink hole. You should start testing with FO because it may behave differently.
  12. Oh! And they say you can put it on burns: Relieves Eczema, Psoriasis, burns, insect bites, cuts, scratches and sunburns Putting anything warm on a burn or sunburn would not be helpful! Not to mention the rubbing. Ouch! Not sure I'd want to put anything fragranced on the other suggested problems either; certainly not cuts and scratches.
  13. Thank you! I tried making Barbie shorts yesterday, they were much easier but ended up too small. Ugh! Oh well.
  14. When I was younger I made clothes for my Barbies. Now my daughter has a few and I thought I'd make her dolls some clothes. This was more difficult than I remembered! Turned out okay though. Thought I'd share. (turned out a little bigger than I intended, sorry about that)
  15. I haven't had NatureWax go bad on me yet, but I imagine it could at some point since it's vegetable. How long have you had it, and how was it stored? I know the C3 does not need additives other than UV inhibitor, but I'm not sure about the C1 or pillar wax.
  16. Let it go through a few burns at least before giving up on a wick. Then keep burning it until you get to the bottom. As for clean-up, just reheat your bowl in the double boiler and wipe it real good with paper towels. For your sink (assuming it's dye?) try rubbing some dish soap on it and if that doesn't work a little FO should do the trick.
  17. For individual votives, I use a small cello bag and a colored twist tie. I tried shrinking the votives and didn't like it. Can't help you with pillars, though, sorry.
  18. I just used my regular labels on a fundraiser I did. They didn't ask about changing them, and I didn't bring it up. I thought about making a small label to put on the side of the jar toward the bottom, saying thanks for supporting xyz. Instead, I typed up something with burning instructions and the thanks from the school and let the school copy it and include them with each order (if they wanted).
  19. I've used some essential oils in C3 at 3%. I haven't used C1, but I'm confused why you'd be letting your customer decide what wax you use. I don't tell any of mine what wax I use, only that it's soy.
  20. You could always use soy wax for the chunks. May not always be pure as snow white, but it's definitely white and opaque. FO can change it slightly, but I don't think it's very much.
  21. I don't use USA in my C3, but I do have a few scents I use at 9% FO without a problem.
  22. Hey, that's great for you! Did they open any others?? lol
