  1. I about choked when I saw my wax price, I looked at hubby and said I can't afford to play around any more and test. His reply was better get selling:undecided . I am not at the selling point so I guess it will all be on the back burner for now
  2. each lanlord is different I suppose, Like I am a lanlord and I personally wouldn't care, I moved away for 6 mos and rented a place instead of buying cause I wasnt sure how long I wanted to be there and I was not allowed to "sell or do hobbies that generated income" Did I still make canldes Yup cause I would have went nuts if I couldnt make and test them. I still have a few rental units and as long as they were up front and asked I dont see an issue, like the ablove person said burning candles is just as dangerous and people who dont make candles buy them and burn them in the rental homes
  3. I love the cb 135. awesome throw (depending on the FO of course) I use LX wicks. I do get the wet spots and pulling away from the jars on occasion but I am learning to deal with it since I have no frosting. It seems that if I have pefect addhesions then ia have frosting lol no "perfect" candle as of yet
  4. in my experience lol if i have any, unscented vs. scented your wicks will be a tad off, also i used to expect a full mp within the 1st burn but then realized that with soy it's not really going to happen unless you have a torch. so i go by the 3rd burn it should be caught up
  5. problems here also not only with the MP/hole but the height of the flames oops maybe the height of the flames problem was with the container one, either way lol I have having problems with both so I gave up for awhile, love how yours look though color and all
  6. "Fairy Dust & Twinkle Toes from Candle Cocoon" man I knew that was familar scent that I couldn't put my nose on lol it smell great and I love grapefruit just didn't add the two:laugh2:
  7. Mine never got that hard when I tried it and I left it out on the pouring tables, I think I remember reading though those that did put it in the frigde took it out and let it get to room temp.
  8. I can't remember what wick I used with the 4627, I know someone else will jump in on that but as far as the mushroom on the wick, I embrace them as best as I can, some FO's are worse then others for me no matter how little fo i use. If they ae huge and out of control with a fo I will more then likely not carry that scent. Also factor in how long the candle has been burning, like yesterday I had a candle going for the entire day and yes I got a huge mushroom with that but I expected it, I did not have soot on the glass and the jar was not hot and the HT was still was fabulous so I am pleased even with the mushroom on my power burn
  9. This is the wax I use for pillars and votives after trying another soy pillar wax. I love it, its easy to work with and realeases easy from the molds. I also think it has a very good hot throw. every once in a great while I add color to this wax and it still looks ad burns good, i just prefer the white natural look of it.
  10. lol island girl shots all around.I store mine on the cupboard upstairs sometimes espicially in the winter since I tend to pour more up here then in the work area since that room is colder and i dont want them cooling to fast. In the summer/warmer months I let them cool on the pouring table, then when they are all ste up I place a lif on them and let them be till I m ready to light them. usually withing a couple of days. sometimes less then 24 hours cause the ct is so good I can't stand waiting lol its hard to have patience
  11. how adorable, your water comment made me laugh lol I would bring my own water too
  12. I like ecosoya cb 135 for the simple reason that I can pick it up, shipping kills a person, I tried the Ecosoya advanced but I didn't like all the "flaws" that came with it. Little HT, doesnt adhere the greatest, I had a hard time wicking it, frosting ect. So my advise would be try to find a supplier close enough for you to either pick up or close enough where shipping isnt as across the counrty ya know. I tried 4 other waxes before I went with the CB135
  13. I use ecosoya 135 and I have a jar that is shy of 4" at the opening and I use and lx26, sometimes and LX28 on the heavier FO's. The LX26 gives me a clean burn with a good MP, about half way through the jar is when all the hang up wax starts to go down as well. LX24 I cant get all the hang up unless is a light scent where I can wick down of course.
  14. i do hope genwax will continue with the frosted jars as that is where i get mine from. If I was a millionaire I would buy tons of one thing after i find something i love cause it seems like with everything it eventually goes away, my luck anyways
  15. just goes to show how we are all differnt lol, I myself like the LX's cause they work for me, I do get a stronger throw with the RRD's but cant stand the mushrooms I get with the RRD's so I went back to the LX's. I do get a good hot throw just not like with the rrd's ya know what I mean
  16. What kind of wicks do you use? Use said Votive size but are they like the CD's or LX's ect. I dont use your wax type but with the Ecosoya PB I use an lx14 or an RRD29. I would suggest to try a different wick and see if that helps, also how much FO are you putting in with the candles more is not always better. You should be able to get a Full mp and have the candle last 15hrs
  17. everyone here has there own opinions and many disscusions on each wax but here is my 2 cents for ya I thought c3 was hard to wick and it took a long time to cure shipping also killed me cba i thought didn't give much if a hot throw and i didn't like how the wax looks after it sets up, frosting, spots ugky tops ect. cb135 love it and use it for my containers. not a long cure time, nice looking tops gives a great hot and cold throw and adheres to the glass for me.
  18. aaaa nobody is stupid...its just a lot of trial and error. Like Vicky said though pouring temps has alot of effect on wax. Have fun with all your pours
  19. Well I lit the lemon biscotti today after 24hr cause I couldnt stand it any more the CT was so yummy. With my wick up it seems to be doing well and the ht is good also. I could smell it in my front room where it is. Vanilla latte' good ht as well have it in my bathroom and the smell is coming down the steps. cool water type. not my cup of tea for a FO that I would buy but it smells good and the throw is good. Daughter really likes this one. Tropical vanilla, getting a fuel smell with this one so will have to see if i add something else to it if it helps. all the above burned for about 4-5 hours then I blew them out so I could re-lite tonight. Rasberry Brule' has a very strong HT and is taking over the entire house. I re lite the above ones and added in the rasberry one and oh my I cant smell any of the others now lol. I think its awesome daughter thinks its to strong. All were used in ecosoya cb135 at 6%
  20. I am jealous, i have tried a few times and mine dont come out that pretty and forget about wicking the sucker lol. well done its beautiful!!
  21. how did the eco 8 work for you? I would think that would be hard to wick with 2 cause of the opening my luck anyway is that under the opening would get all sooty.
  22. without more info to go on I would guess to much FO or a drafty area. I have noticed the house I am in now that it seems every corner there are drafts so I have been doing alot of test burns in my bathroom lol
  23. thanks ladies on the lemon wick info. i do hope the bigger wick that i put in there this AM will work then since it is one size bigger then normal. still added the 6% so we will see
  24. Have you had to wick up with the lemon biscotti fo? I love the smell and have poured it a couple of times and cant get this one wicked. I actually poured 2 more this AM of this scent 2 dfferent sizes of wicks) along with many others. I so hope I can get it wicked lol
  25. I just tested an eco 14 against an lx 26 and They both did good with like a burn clean ect and after about the 3rd burn a full MP was there all they way to the end. The eco had more wax left on the bottom of the jar though then I wanted so I think I will go with the lx 26 (of course will be testing again to make sure) I used 6% of x-mas pear in a couple and then 6% of redwood and cedar in a couple in ecosoya 135. I have aslo found that as much as I like the RRD's I dont like the mushrooms they produce. not much of a help with your question sorry but wanted to let you know my testing results with an eco:cheesy2:
