  1. Oh yeah I think the CB advance is easy to work with...playing around with differnet waxes is about as fun as playing with wicks lol. You never know what one you will like with each combo till you try it. I tried 4 different waxs before settling on the Ecosoya CB135
  2. its like Christmas to me when I get anything candle related in the mail lol. I got some different wicks to try the other week too so much fun playing around and comparing wicks.
  3. when I use the popsicle sticks I find i have to have the rubber bands very close to the jar like touching or they do move around on me....sorry thats all the info i have but am curious as to where small centering tools would be also
  4. I use ecosoya and have never had to pour a second pour or add additives. Never had to poke relief holes either...knock on wood now lol
  5. Fire great advice.... Kinda like becoming a stay at home mom you have to make sure money wise you can do it so you set aside the money you make and live off your hubby's....well this is like that just like fire said work at your full time job for a year and see if this is something you can do till retirment. Having 3 part time jobs plus mother hood you are working more now then you would be full time I think lol. I vote scale down the business cause I think if you sell it off you would really regret giving away all your hard work with secrets.
  6. sorry I dont have any advice...just have to go with your gut and heart but did want to say congrats on getting an offer and one with benifts that is exciting in it self. What if you scaled your business down...not have many wholesale accounts ect. That way you can keep your candle business part time and not give away all your secrets that you worked so hard for.
  7. Susan thanks so much for the update and letting us know the results. Very excited to give it a try.
  8. I love how easy the Ecosoya releases from the molds, I also think the Hot throw is stronger then the V1, very smooth looking also
  9. stella thanks so much..that makes perfect sense now as to why it kept burning.
  10. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62619&highlight=pillar+wicking grama did one but its not your type of wax
  11. well that is just crappy on her part to do that to you, hope you do sell them so you are not stuck with them. maybe you can give few as gifts to other neighbors/friends. Or give a few away just to say thanks for buying. at any rate its never easy but I think its harder when it is someone that you have known for years.
  12. I put my digital scale inside a big plasitc freezer baggie so if any wax drips it drips onto the baggie and not the scale itself. I also line my pan with foil when I put them in the oven so I dont have to clean the cookie sheet just toss away the foil
  13. so how can one really get a temp out of the glass above the melt pool to know that you are within the guide lines? I touch mine and yeah they are hot and sometimes to hot touch so I wick down but then I have so much hang up or wax left on the bottom I go on to try differnt wicks and its like a never ending circle ya know. Tonight I finished 3 candles all the way down...no soot and the jar was not hot but there wasnt any wax left at the bottom either and that dang wick just kept burning, so tomorrow I will make another and wick down and hopefully will have no hang up and a little wax left at the bottom of jar
  14. ouch...well glad you learned about it now and thanks for the info
  15. Well according to candlescience wick suggestion their 1st and best choice is the ECO's. I used this wax for a short time and I believe I used the LX's but can't remember at the moment
  16. yes 8% cause that is what I had to use with a lot of the oils I used before in order to get a decent throw.
  17. I was thinking the same thing...used 8% in the CB135 but think I can cut back on it and still get an awesome throw
  18. well thank you again for posting this..cant wait to hear the results after the marathon burn
  19. ummm interesting thanks. question :embarasse how does it do when the jar is hot? is it safe and does it stay on. Also does it come off with soap/water or just the scraping?
  20. They work great and I cant belive I didnt use them sooner lol
  21. just a suggestion but b4 you print on the one and only sheet you have, print it on normal paper 1st and then match it up to the avery and see if it all matches.
  22. isnt though...I am burning now as we speak and I love how I can smell it on every level of my home
  23. lol this board is great isn't it...learned alot from here. I have walked away many times cause I get so frustrated like when I use a different jar. Pillars and me well not getting along yet so we are having another time out. Votives I have a bunch made now again so just need to put the wicks in and test but scared too.
