  1. You make the most beautiful candles Donita. And you know what else? You're a darn nice person and an inspiration to everyone. Thank you :highfive:
  2. I've made a couple of pillars with this wax (also ordered 10 lbs to play with some time back). It's definitely a two-pour and it takes a few days to cure. The burn on both pillars was excellent and both were very creamy looking. The wax held the scent all the way down. The wax burns slower than paraffin and the 105 HTP wick worked perfectly in both. The only downside to the wax (to me anyway) is the cost. I haven't made any votives with it yet but I bet they'll be very pretty. The wax holds color exceptionally well too.
  3. Great work, those are beautiful!
  4. I'll add to the pot- Peaceful Mango Leaves Ethereal Daydreams Totally awesome scents from Day-Star. Mango Leaves is a little pricey but it's kicking in my soyblend. Another plus, I've read many great reviews of this one in soap. I can smell the mango of course, but also smell fresh and breezy. It's a unique blend girls, a must try. Ethereal Daydreams is very fresh and clean, very spring-like.
  5. I'm finding that I really enjoy the wholesale venue of candle sales and I'll be concentrating on expanding this part of my business in 2008.
  6. I've read many times about SC Indian Summer and how it is fantastic in CP. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this one in candles from SC or any other supplier and what their results were.
  7. Poly C-15 has a melt point of 195 deg. You'll need to melt this additive separately and add it to your wax before you pour.
  8. I almost forgot about one I poured last night, Orchid Mist from Tennessee Candle Supply. Beautiful scent; I'm waiting for a few days then I'll light this baby. I'll let you know how it does.
  9. I LOVE Cherry Blossom and tried numerous suppliers trying to find the "one". Nope, out of 5 suppliers not one of them had a scent that kicked in my wax. Out of frustration I guess, my mad scientist brain stumbled upon a mix that totally does it. 4 parts Cherry Blossom and 1 part Black Cherry. The Black Cherry brings this scent to life. Also, Day Star has some new florals that sound very interesting. I ordered samples during her last sale and I'll keep you updated as I test them.
  10. I knew they would be awesome fantastic before I even opened the thread. Girl, you're a hell of a candlemaker!
  11. Very creative and unique candles and I bet these would make beautiful centerpieces. Definitely outside the box, I like the artistic touch you've added. Thanks for sharing :smiley2:
  12. I also use the white liquid dye from JBN. Peaks used to carry a white color block but I don't see it on the site anymore.
  13. Here are my Xmas container candles. From left to right, Candy Canes, Merry Mistletoe and Rocky Mountain Xmas Tree. The Candy Cane is my blend of peppermint and vanilla. Merry Mistletoe and Rocky Mountain Xmas Tree are oils from Oil Mill.
  14. A new toy-I mean tool I've been debating this for a couple of years now. I hate, hate, hate leveling pillars. Please update after you've tried this out. If it goes well for you, I'm next for a mitre saw! Just getting rid of the aggravation of leveling a pillar would be worth the $100 investment.
  15. Baby Grace - you must have this one. I went back and ordered a lb of this one. It's going in cp after Xmas. Amazing Grace - also nice but I'm not an Amazing Grace fan really. Black Code - I only had a one ouncer so I didn't have enough to play with. I wasted it on a candle. I say wasted because it doesn't throw at all in my soyblend. Nectarine Blossom & Honey - also had a 1 ouncer and I put it in a lotion and spray perfume. Ooh, I love this one too. I must order more and try it in soap. It's awesome in lotion. Vera Wang Princess - Love this one too. Went back for a pound.
  16. What a fantastic find! Me, I'd get a box full of coal, but you did most excellent! I love that mosaic plate. What size are they?
  17. Very beautiful, love the colors and the bling.
  18. The mold is from BCN. It's a metal mold with 12 embeds and each heart weighs 1/2 ounce. The scents are from Day Star, TCS, and WSP. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, these are becoming a very good seller for me.
  19. My version of melts, this is an order I finished tonight. Note to self-buy more heart molds. The mold is a set of 12. I have 2 molds. These are made with the small crystal palm wax. Scents are Flaming Black Russian, Sugared Spruce, Spiced Cranberry, Incredible Baked Cherry Delight, Peppermint Vanilla and Gingerbread Applesauce.
  20. That's a very pretty candle. I've been looking for a good Vanilla Grapefruit, may I ask where you purchased your scent?
  21. Just wondering-are you using a metal "something" to stir your wax with in the presto pot? If so, try silicone instead. Silicone won't scrape the bottom like metal will.
  22. Hey, that's a cool technique. Scented, I like your idea too.
