  1. Hey, tell us about DS Southern Fruitcake, I've been so tempted to try that one. Oh, and the Chocolate Amber from SC. You know how I love me some Amber
  2. Too much heat will cause the pinholes. Excessive stirring will cause the bubbles. Pour your wax in the pour pot and let it settle before pouring. Pour it down your wick at a steady pace. Don't overheat your mold, that will also cause the pinholes. Check your thermometer. It may be time to buy a new one. A good way to test the thermometer is to use two of them side-by-side. Is the fragrance a good quality? Lean toward pouring at a lower temp and maybe do a tester @ 160, 165 and 170 and note the differences. Best of luck to you, I hope you can figure out the cause(s) of your problems.
  3. This has been my favorite scent since last winter and the OT swap. I've soaped this once and the scent has lasted perfectly. Mine wasn't as pretty as yours though Anyway, as a side note, this scent kicks butt in paraffin and lotions too. Love your soap Scented, as always......
  4. Wow, how did I miss this? I love the beads, they totally dress up the candle. Your daughter did a great job.
  5. Beautiful soap, I love the colors. Would the scent make a good candle scent?
  6. Dang Scented, you're kicking some major as- these days with your beautiful soaps! You've got your technique down perfectly, each picture is just amazing. Way to go girl! if you ever need a tester, give me a shout
  7. Layers of Caramel Dip (FOH, total yum), Cinnamon Buns (Peaks, OMG great scent), and Baked Apples (Snowtops/ICS, best baked apple out there IMO), mottled/rustic 3 x 4 pillars for a wholesale account. The pic was taken in my front yard this morning and the flowers behind the candles are from one of my Lantana plants. These plants are periannuals here in West Texas, which I love because I'm all about not spending too much time planting. Anyway, this is a top request by one of my wholesalers and a best seller for me these days.
  8. I poured The Amber Spice this morning in comfort blend and it's cold throw is totally kicking. I'll light it in a couple of days and let you know what the hot throw is like. I'm a total Amber ho and this one has my attention for sure. I love the orange note to this and the amber just blossomed when it hit the wax. I am so glad I bought the 16 oz size because it is going to rock in lotion, solid perfume and body sprays too. On a side note, I also bought Cannibis Rose. Wow, I love this too!
  9. Yum, Appleberry Oak sounds like a good one. I like your labels and the buildings behind the company name, and love the name of your company. I use tweezers to hold the label and attach to the jar. Works well for me.
  10. This can be done by using colored micro wax. The colored micro would be added to the sides of the mold before pouring the hurricane wax. Then use a water bath to keep the colored parts from bleeding. It can also be done with pillar candles.
  11. Try using 2 small wicks, like CDN 10 or 12 and see if you get a better burn. Jumping wicks are a sign that your wick is too large. I use the 3 1/2" apothecary and find that two (small) wicks will perform much better than one large one.
  12. Scented-I've tried Sandalwood Rose from both OT and Tony's. While I just love most of OT scents, Tony's wins on this one hands down.
  13. Beautiful candles and beautiful scenery. Great job :highfive:
  14. Peaks Birthday Cake. This one is selling like crazy for me. I like it much better than the RE dupe and it throws like mad in soyblend.
  15. Another idea-are you using the same type molds (metal or aluminum) for your candles?
  16. 8 oz of each and every oil that Peaks carries? What a nice man you are and what a lucky woman she is. She's going to have a blast and you've just enabled an addiction ready to happen. Let us know how it goes or even have her become a member here. After all, you can't be a candle addict without being a member of Candletech. It's the law
  17. Yuzu does fantastic in candles. Oregon Trails has the best I've tried.
  18. Is that 5 tbsp stearic + 415 to equal 16 oz? Wow, what a great blend tip, thank you.
  19. Thought I would share-I mixed 50/50 OT Yuzu and Ms. Randy Vanilla Bean today and just finished pouring. This is the Vanilla Grapefruit I've been looking for since Patti went out of business. I'm in Grapefruit heaven here, lol. This is the best of the best in Vanilla Grapefruit. I also did a mix of 2 parts OT Yuzu to 1 part TSW Blushing Jasmine but haven't poured it yet. Excellent scent but I don't have any of Patti's left so I can't compare. I do know it's better than any Grapefruit Jasmine I've tried and I've tried about all that I've found from different suppliers. Patti if you read this, here's a big THANK YOU and a big hug. You've gone way above being generous.
  20. OMG Patti!!! It's so nice to hear from you. I loved your oils so much and miss doing business with you. You were a great supplier and you're so sweet to let me know about your Vanilla Grapefruit. It was totally awesome. As soon as you said Yuzu, I had a "duh" moment, lol. Of course it was Yuzu, how did I not know that; I love Yuzu. So many suppliers have Vanilla Grapefruit but none compare to yours. Thank You! It's good to know you're ok, and I'm glad you came to the board. And if you ever go back in business, I'll be there for sure ordering. Take care and don't be a stranger :smiley2:
  21. Ok girls, fess up, what $12.95 scent is throwing like crazy for you????? I don't think I've even seen an oil for $12.95 in years.
