  1. Hey, I have a little of her Vanilla Grapefruit left. How many lbs do you have to order to get it duped with Brent?
  2. So, where's the chocolate??? Chocolate Amber from SC or Chocolate Serendipities from Southern Soapers. For a vanilla, have you ever tried Bourbon de Vanille from SS? Fantastic! Oh, I just thought of another one. Ambre de Nepal from SW. A gorgeous amberish scent. Dang, now I want to make some of those. (Yes, I tend to lean toward the more expensive, lol). You have some great scents listed. So when do these go on your website????
  3. Hey, I'll enter this marathon. Seriously, I've tried every supplier that carries Vanilla Lace and I've yet to find Patti's dupe of this scent. Also, her Vanilla Grapefruit.
  4. Honeysuckle Kisses. This one is WOW in candles, soap, lotions, etc.
  5. I had the same problem with the Daydreams oil. I used 8% fragrance as I usually do and have an oil slick on bottom and dropplets on the top. I'm thinking maybe this one would be better for B & B.
  6. Calypso Orchid from TSW. OMG, I opened this bottle today and instantly fell in love. Seriously, this is one gorgeous scent. It didn't even have time to sit on the shelf before I made a body spray. Bath bombs, lotions, perfumes, soap, candles, this is a scent that will do it all.
  7. Did you use it in wax? I couldn't get it to throw in my soyblend worth a darn. But in lotion, WOW! That is all
  8. I'm currently testing her Summer Gardenia and it's throwing like crazy. This is a beautiful scent by the way. Scented Bean has some great scents. Rasperry Cream, Berry Crumble, Sea Spray and Jasmine, Seaside, Peach, Vanilla Dreams, and Garden Mint are all fantastic. She has a 2 oz sample offer for a great price. Her scents are all strong and are fantastic throwers. She also has great customer service; you can't go wrong ordering.
  9. Girl, you've got the creative thing going to the umph degree! Excellent job Grumpy, and I love the "Barf Bar" name, totally fits.
  10. I've been cleaning up my workshop and have some old oils that have seen better days. Question - what do you do with your oils that you need to discard? As tempting as it would be to pour them down the sink or throw them in the trash, I don't think either is a great choice so I keep hanging on to them. Which is also not a great choice. Any ideas?
  11. Oh man, I've been trying so hard to resist and you guys are killing me here, lol.
  12. Kudos to your husband, he did great! I'm having a mental pic of my DH doing something like this and it's not a pretty pic, , he'd make a huge mess. He's a great PR guy but not so much on the labor end.
  13. Have any of you tried the cotton core wicks? I have both the ultra core and the cotton core. The cotton burn hotter, of course, and have been working great for me in both paraffin and my soyblend waxes. I use balmoral jars and the cotton wicks burn beautifully all the way down. Also Sharon, the 2.509 is my favorite size, they work perfectly for me in the square mason jars.
  14. I've searched, I promise, but I didn't find anything on how to do a wire hanger swirl. If it's there, I'm a search dummy I love the look of the soaps with this type of swirl. Would anyone be willing to share a little on this technique? Thanks so much, Groovy Chic
  15. Seriously, what did you think she was going to do with 30 candles? The rules are what you set, up front, before the candles are sold. I'm totally with Mystical on this one. When I first started selling candles I only sold retail. It takes a lot longer to sell 30 candles retail than it does to sell 30 candles wholesale. That's money that could already be in the bank. Sit down with your partner and set the rules in writing. That way, you'll be happy and actually so will the buyer.
  16. Micro is a great additive to help with scent throw, you're on to something there. It works fantastic in paraffin and soy/paraffins also. You may have to up your wick, I always do. The candle will burn slower with micro also. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
  17. Chocolate Serendipities is to die for in wax, very strong throw, pure chocolate bliss. Bourbon Vanilla is a fantastic oil, also a very strong throw in wax, a beautiful french vanilla type scent. Excellent on it's own and also makes a great blender. Lime Margarita is fantastic in CP. I have soap in this scent that is still going and it's about a year old now. Bossa Nova, I bought a bottle of this last week but haven't done anything with it yet. I've read rave reviews about this scent in CP. Coeur D'Amour (Heart of Love), very sensual-this would make a great Valentines anything. Her descriptions are right on and each scent will tell you if it throws strong in soy. Great customer service, great oils, and I always love going to the site to see what she's added. Good luck choosing, no easy feat for sure.
  18. I'm looking for the candle suppliers that carry the Fil-Tec brand of wicks. I've ordered from Early American Candle Supply and I'm looking to order some of the sizes they don't currently stock. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  19. Set an empty pour pot on your scale and tare it. Use another pour pot to fill with wax and pour this in the pot on the scale. Pour the weight you'll need and you're ready for scent and dye. Also, I keep watch on my melter and add wax as I go. This way I can keep pouring and not have to stop and wait for wax to melt. When I'm finished pouring, I simply turn off my melter and put the lid on. I use the turkey fryer and usually keep about 20-25 lbs wax in it.
  20. Take your heat gun and hit the spot (on low) for very short intervals. Rub the area with your fingers to smooth it and blend it.
  21. Ok, first let me say, I am not a floral lover. Yuck to most. So when I say that Orchid Magnolia is one of the most beautiful scents I've ever put in wax, believe me, it's a big leap. If this burns as good as the cold throw, I'll be thrilled. I've poured alot of testers today from both GL and DS. I'll post when I start burning them but I just had to tell you about this one. Big, big thumbs up for this one.
  22. I love that scent too. Have you tried doing a rustic with this wax yet? I have 10 lbs of it to play with (haven't yet though), and was just wondering about rustics as well as mottles. Your mottle looks great.
