  1. Liking this wax so far as far as wicking goes. Everything I try works great. Blue one has 3 tbs per pound mineral oil with an lx 20 no FO and the yellow one has no mineral oil with an htp 83 and 6% fo. The wet spots are way beyond acceptable. Looks like wax shrunk 1/4”. Both have vybar 343. Hot throw is better than my 4627. Gonna enjoy experimenting with this.
  2. Finally decided its time to just experiment making my own proprietary blend that isn't made by combining pre blended waxes so I purchased some IGI 2281 for my base. I poured first tester with nothing but a drop of color to see if it mottled like its supposed to, but no mottling so far. I poured a second tester with 1% Vybar 343 and added some fragrance and an HTP 83 as my start wick ( oh my god don't every buy pineapple shortcake from natures garden. Vomit my whole house stinks). All I can say is WOW!!!!! Candle looks like complete crap but Etsy worthy ahaha. Its got super wet spots, not those regular ones but such a strong scent throw with absolutely ZERO mushroom. Such a clean burning candle. So now I understand how additives that help candles also cause the wicking nightmares. Gonna try adding some mineral spirits and also try out some Crisco on next testers to compare. Was going to order some Coconut wax either Coconut 1 or Coconut 2 to blend with it. Never used either, so recommendations on the which Coconut wax would be appreciated. Advice needed on which additives I should be using and which I should not be using. I also will probably add some Soy to it as well, was thinking maybe a IGI 415. My goal is to make my own Coconut, and Paraffin wax that I don't have to guess what is in it.
  3. I just recently tried the wood wicks with this wax. It throws scent so much better than a regular wick and solves my mushroom problem. The only problem I have had was on the first burn. It almost drown the wick. After that it was fine. Maybe I trimmed it too much, still testing. Seems any wax that is a Bellatrix to wick works great with a wood wick, at least for me. I am not understanding some of the comments of the wood wicks being difficult to use. So far I haven't had a problem with them in 4627, coco 83 and lab & co virgin coconut. The wick guide provided by woodwick website so far has worked pretty good for me. Now on small jars like an 8oz straight side, they tend to get a little too hot.
  4. might be worth it to just buy these, change the label and wick and re sale as your own :D
  5. Came across this today and thought id share. https://www.aisleofshame.com/aldi-candles/
  6. Try 1-3% beeswax instead.
  7. Post your items on here with pics and prices, or on Craigslist. I always sell things pretty fast on Craigslist.
  8. I could have sworn that video of the guy testing said it was 140 degrees.
  9. https://woodenwick.com This is probably where most people buy them, and they have all sizes and a chart to help you out.
  10. Finally got a 2oz FO to try from these guys, Rose & Patchouli. Wow! What is used in their fragrances that make them so much better than regular fragrance oils?
  11. These work the best. You can get them at the Dollar tree. That jar is a perfect fit.
  12. Was looking at there line of fragrances and was wondering if anyone who has used them think they are really that good to justify the high dollar amount they are asking? I was thinking they are just having them made at AFI and putting a crazy markup on it. If I find one I like of theirs thats what I plan on doing. I am so glad someone posted about AFI, they have so many copied scents and don't charge anything to copy a scent you send them, only the minimum price of 10 pounds should you decide to buy , which is only 1/3 the cost from Lab & Co. :D
  13. I just got a sample pack from Woodenwick.com to try out. How do you prime them?
  14. When I was using 4627 which is basically 4630 that isn't in slab form, and lx wick worked great for me
  15. I just burned a 6046 in a 3" dia jar with nag champa and nothing else added with an htp 105. Burned just shy of the edge of glass in 3 hr, no mushroom and used an htp 105. Try adding soy to it, it will help you a lot. This wax I don't think burns as hot as coconut 83, because in that wax I have to wick down.
  16. What I have is the beads and it is sticky, and sticks to the scoop I use to get it out of the box. The ones that you say were smooth like soy, was it similar to the way 464 and 444 are in the box?
  17. Which wax did you decide on if you don't mind me asking? What was it about the 83 that you didn't like, Im guessing the mushrooming because thats what I am dealing with?
  18. Coconut 83 is so bad I am about to throw it out the window. Every single wick I own mushroomed. Maybe its the beeswax I had to add to it, who knows. On a good note, I am finding that the 6046 wicks pretty easy, im guessing because of the paraffin. TallTayl did you have better luck with wood wicks in the coco 83 instead of the regular wicks?
  19. I haven't used the Lab and Co yet but I have used coconut 83 and IFI 6046 waxes and from that I can tell you that the coconut wax creates the high flame. One thing I have done and others on here have done is add a little beeswax to harden up the wax to tame the flame or you can add more Soy to it. I wouldn't add more than 5% of the beeswax because it tends to cause cracking in the wax. Try different mixes and keep testing is all I can say.
  20. So its been a while with your testing of coconut 83. I see you had good results with the ribbon and I also read you like wood wicks. Which have you settled on with this wax?
