  1. Trapp, I'm not sure what she poured at and I do not use the wax or I would for sure tell you :).
  2. Not many good reviews I find on this wax, but I did see someone on the Facebook groups post a photo. I have to admit, it is a beautiful wax and believe it is a one pour if correct temperatures.
  3. Interesting and very helpful, love that it maintains temperatures and already has a pour spigot. Also love that it is the same price as a presto (that has no spigot)...the one that holds around the same amount as a presto. Will be trying one out, thank you so much! Edit to add: not so much loving the fire aspect 😂
  4. I used to order from Indigo many years ago (for bath and body) and they do have a ton of fun and unique scents for sure. Was going to order some for wax, but shipping is up there for me. On the peanut butter subject, Millcreek is yummy, but not kick you in the face strong. Although, peanut butter may not be a strong oil on general? 🤔
  5. This sounds much better than the tutorials I've seen on soaking in olive oil. Saves a step also since you already are melting wax.
  6. YES I AM! Will be ordering this for sure, thank you lots for the reviews ☺
  7. I purchased it many months ago to try as I always have to try new things LOL Love the granulated aspect for scoop and melt, love the way it holds oils (it takes more than 8% just fine, even heavy oils), nice and hard for tarts, cold throw is wonderful and I love the creamy aspect of it (this is if you do not care about the palm crystal affect). My complaint is the smell out of the box but doesn't seem to carry too much into final product. It is a bit brittle, which I expected. I am just now pulling tester tarts out from a month ago for HT testing and so far is very nice in the oils I used. I am stuck between using CW palm alone (for the natural beauty it has) or this palm blended with container paraffin (for a creamy finish) for candles. I poured a couple of testers for an idea of final appearance. This wax does not like being married to Problend 400/JS 123 @ 50/50 ratio. All but one of my portion cups had cracks in it with this blend. It did work smooth with CBL 125 @ 50/50. However, the more 125 added, the more shiny it gets...just like all of my other paraffin blends with veggie waxes. Keeping the container paraffin at about no more than 25-30% keeps it matte and creamy with this particular palm/coconut wax.
  8. Nevermind, scented salt didnt work strong at all and I also dont like how my dish looks now. I'm not worried about it taking over wax sales.
  9. Zinc for paraffin and ordering RRD and CSN to try with palm. I am new to palm, so I was even debating the CD as you and someone else on here uses, the premiers someone suggested once, and I've even read eco being used years ago with success. I guess the eco and premiers were said to be more of a tame flame.
  10. I definitely am going to test for myself as it's so variable, but I would appreciate that
  11. I don't mean to sound uneducated but this would work would it not? Many on here use straight oils with salt for throw testing and it worked well for me. Honestly oils aren't that expensive if they just buy a dozen of ones they strictly like. It gets expensive for us makers since we need larger quantities, especially when we custom blend. Many who have been in the wax world a very long time know their oils and blends maybe more than some vendors so I could see this becoming a trend. They dont need to deal with vendors customer service, shipping issues and prices, higher prices of wax, rushing for openings or gambling on wax that may not work well. I have thought about making scented salt for warmers, I guess this would moreless be the same concept. Unless any of you give reasons on why it wouldn't be safe?...
  12. Actually, I asked to help decide on quantity of palm vs paraffin to order. Very new to palm, but not paraffin. I'm glad you feel bakery does well in palm as I love everything else about it. I noticed you use CD wicks. Maybe the wick plays a part on bakery throw 🤔
  13. I don't think I will be using soy anymore at this point. Edit to add...but thank you for the suggestion :)
  14. Found this on a Facebook wax group (name and profile photo cropped for privacy).
  15. I personally hate clams. No matter where they're purchased from, they still get a plastic note to the melts over time, even with pouring at different temperatures. Also, they are way too common and I like to stand out..so no problems there :). My preference is silicone rubber mold shapes.
  16. I also am picky with oils. Do you use 141 alone, blended with 125, or palm for melts nowadays? I'm still on the should I blend or not blend train. Has anyone ever tried CW palm container or GG for melts in addition to your candles? I understand it's considered container but it seems like it would be hard enough...? Edit to add: I'm so happy customers are loving your candles!! Go girl!
  17. Oops, that is the one I tried..KY version and it had a fizz. Maybe that is just the way lime icing smells and I'm associating it with fizz hmm.
  18. I have tried the KY version, but it was very fizzy to me. Are all key lime pie oils fizzy? I want creamy custard with a zing of lime and warm crust!!
  19. I guess it's a trend of softer paraffin being the most popular for throw such as 4627/4630 and the J waxes, even still after decades. I just am not a fan of shiny creamy type candles or else I would go with 125 as well. Grr, always something with each wax...none is perfect of course.
  20. Absolutely not the same in my opinion.
  21. Must be why Sarah loves CW 125 since it's a good replacement for J50/J223.
