Anna
your votives without wasting so much wax.The molds are so little its hard to to pour without spilling the wax. This is my first votives to pour, maybe it will get better. dcroome2005
If I use a pour pot ( the pot I melt my wax in), I seem to spill a lot more. If I use a small measuring cup- I hardly ever spill anything. Its a lot easier to handle that way. Just after you have melted your wax, colored and fragranced it , just pour some into a measuring cup ( glass pyrex one) and pour slowly. Don't rush it .. See if that helpsChristina
Anna
THanks,Christina,I will try that.
MaryinCary
I use my pour pot, but like Christina said pouring slow is the key. If you use a glass pyrex, you have a better chance of hitting your mark.
topofmurrayhill
Don't drink a gallon of coffee before pouring. Definitely avoid the amphetamines.
YooperCandles
I also spill a lot when I pour (especially repours), but I dont waste any of it because I put my molds on waxed paper and as soon as the spilled wax is cool enough I scrape it off and put it back into my pouring pot. Donita
I found that the best way is to do it blindfolded.....that way you have to be very careful. Donita

Anna
here's my solution.. holds one pound of wax and I never miss my mark:grin2:sorry about the blurred pic Pam,that is neat.Is that a bottom to a coffee pot? Anna
Pam W
Yep, that's what it is. I found it at the 2nd hand store. I have the top part too but it doesn't have the spout so I kinda bent it to make one. If I had to choose between this pot and my presto.....well, it'd be a real touch decision.Edit: and I found out today that it is terrific for pouring 'canes. sharyl55
Dixie cups saved me when pouring votives. I use the 7 oz paper ones for the initial pour. Just squeeze it to form a point for pouring. Do this before filling it with wax. Then I use the bathroom Dixie cups for the re-pours. So much easier for me to control than a pour pot. And I don't drink coffee or alcohol or smoke weed. Anna
Thanks sharyl,I will try this too. This is the first for me,to pour votives.I thought,it has got to be a easy way to do this.I don't have any those habits either,so that not my problem. SatinDucky
I save my shot glass for measuring so I have to down a jigger of the hard stuff first. That's ok though, because then I don't care if I spill Whatever you use to pour, try keeping it only half full. I spill every time if I try pouring small amounts with the pour pot full. cindym
I just crimped my small pour pot to make the opening tighter and pour slow, also whatever I spill I put right in my cup for the repour.
darlascandles
I bought a zillion (ok, maybe only 12) stainless steel cream pitchers from wal mart........and I fill them with the wax from the larger pot, and pour from those......almost no mess, and the warm wax peels right off of them....not very scientific, but it works for me. lol
chris77
I use a small pour pot (2lb)....never have had any troubles
