Pumpkin dip with either Nilla wafers or apple slices. Recipe as follows:

Pumpkin Dip

3/4 cup (8 oz.) cream cheese (1/3 less fat kind)

1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)

1/2 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)

2 tsp. maple syrup

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Place first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl and beat with a mixer at medium speed until well blended. Add syrup and cinnamon and beat until smooth. Cover and chill for 30 minutes.

Easy and really good. I've thought about using this as icing for maybe something like angel food cake.

Ohhh! That pumpkin dip sounds delish! I need to try that myself!!

Keep refreshments simple, things they can eat with their hands. Salami, cheese and ritz crackers are always a hit at my house, also spinach dip bread bowls...

Good luck!

I'm doing an open house pretty soon also, and I've done them in the past with my other craft love (painting) and always make a to die for "friendship tea" and homemade cookies, and then sell those also. ;)

For some reason I'm cringing over the thought of serving salami, cheese and crackers, I just keep thinking about people walking around my house hovering over my tables of product and raining crumbs down all over the place. LOL

Keep it simple but inviting, spinach dip is always a favorite of most everyone I know and that pumpkin dip sounds yummie!! :)

I always do some cheap, but good dips and stuff. Here are some of my recipes - feel free to try!

Guacamole:

4 Haas avocados mashed

2 Roma tomatoes diced

¼ cup cilantro minced

Bunch green onions diced

½ lemon squeezed

2 packets guacamole seasoning

Mix well, cover with plastic to the actual dip (don't leave any air) and refridgerate for an hour

Salsa:

8 Roma tomatoes diced

1 bunch green onion diced

½ red onion diced

½ cup cilantro

1 lemon squeezed

2 packets salsa seasoning

Mix well, cover & refridgerate overnite (gives time for more juice)

My favorite cracker spread!

2 boxes cream cheese softened at room temp

½ cup sour cream

1 packet of Buddig beef diced

1 bunch green onions diced

Sprinkle garlic salt to taste

*This one looks Christmasy because of the red and green!*

I always do a dessert that has no name, lol!

You take 2 Small tubs of cool whip (8 oz size) or 1 16 oz size

Then add fresh or canned fruit

1 can of drained crushed pineapple

Nuts if you want Chopped fine

1 large package of vanilla INSTANT pudding (mix with geletin then add rest of ingredients)

1 large pack flavored geletin mix

Generally I will do orange jello, and canned mandarin oranges

Strawberry jello with fresh strawberries

And whip the baby up! Cheap, simple and easy, and sweet as can be!!

Ok, first I take the cool whip and put into a large bowl. Then in a smaller bowl, I take the vanilla pudding, and the flavored geletin and mix together~ DO NOT ADD ANYTHING, only the 2 powders. Once that is mixed, then I add this to the cool whip and whip real quick with the mixer. Take a can of crushed pineapple (whichever size you prefer, either alot or a little pineapple- I generally use the soup can size 12 or 16 oz) and drain well. If you are using fresh fruit, then cut that up, or if canned fruit, make sure you drain that as well. Fold these ingredients in with a spachula, and the chopped nuts if you want to add those. Wallah! You are done, and it takes about 10 minutes!!

edited to add more detailed directions :D

Okay Heather, you need to be more specific for people who don't do much cooking

Is that the small or large tubs of cool whip? I'm thinking small unless you're feeding the whole neighborhood.

And when you say mix the pudding with the geletin, then add rest of the ingredients, do you mean the rest of the pudding ingredients, as in milk? Or do you mix the dry pudding with the dry geletin and the add the rest of the ingredients. I can see a lumpy mess if I don't do this right.
