  4. Why did your uncle pay? Cardholder is not required to make payments on a disputed charge until a decision is made on the disputed charges. Did your uncle follow correct procedures for disputing the charge?
  5. Evaporated milk is milk that has been processed to eliminate about 60% of the liquids while retaining most, if not all, of the milk solids. In theory, mixing lye with 1/2 water needed and then adding the other half of water as evap milk to oils should produce a whiter bar with the goodies from the milk. Evaporated milk has been heated during processing. I think it would be fun to experiment with condensed milk. ***************************** From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evaporated_milk Evaporated milk was popular before refrigeration as a substitute for perishable fresh milk, because it could be reconstituted by adding water. In present times, household use is most often for desserts and baking. When mixed with an equal amount of water, it can be substituted for fresh milk in recipes. Definition According to the U.S. Government (21CFR131.130): "Evaporated milk is the liquid food obtained by partial removal of water only from milk. It contains not less than 6.5 percent by weight of milkfat, not less than 16.5 percent by weight of milk solids not fat, and not less than 23 percent by weight of total milk solids ... It is homogenized. It is sealed in a container ... processed by heat ... to prevent spoilage."
  6. Sorry no help. I made an unscented CPHP castille with babassu and castor. I can smell something 'off' when the bar is wet. I thought it was the HP process.

  10. Well heck. What was I typing? I used coconut oil, castor, and COCOA BUTTER in my too hard salt bars.
  11. Steph, I made an 80% coconut/10% castor/10% shea bar batch. Bars are so hard that I get no lather if wash my hands at the sink. Lathers just fine in the shower with a puff. Batch did have some other issues but cocoa made soap too hard. my2¢, donna
  12. First thing you need to do is buy your domain name. I bought mine through http://www.aplus.net . DH likes the features APlus offers for hosting. hth, Donna
  13. VP shares a warehouse with ChrisWick. I do not know if they allow pickups. Call them and ask for a catalog. donna
  14. number2of7, Try veripack.com. Polypro 3X3 zip for $13.75 & 3X5 for $16.00. No minimum BUT they merged with Bagsandbows so the website is messed up & prices are wrong AND hard to find. You would need to order by phone until the site gets fixed. VP does have a print catalog.Best part about VP is that they ship from a warehouse in Atlanta (Lilburn or Lithia Spings or Lithonia, can't remember) so turnaround is one day.hth, donnawhere in GA are you? I'm west of Cartersville near the Alabama line.
  15. Are you incorporated? Just checked 'whois' and your website is owned by you and not the corporation. To appreciate the protection of incorporation, all assets should be owned by the company. Just some information that is probably not worth 2¢. Donna
  16. Hi Traceyy, I feel you pain. You should not have to wait a month for information from a supplier. my 2¢... I think your email is too long. Eliminate the unnecessary info and it will be much easier to read. OR ask the question first and add other stuff in a second paragraph. Think of how many emails a supplier has to answer daily. "Hi, I need to know the flashpoints of the fragrance oils of my most recent order (order #XXXXX/date). This is my second request for this information. Thank you, XXXXXXX List FOs" Good luck.
  17. I am off to purchase a crock-pot for cooking. Fred's has a 6 quart oval CP for $19.99. K-mart has a Kenmore 7qt oval for $29.99. FYI--I broke the ceramic liner in my round 5 qt CP. An 8 qt stainless steel bowl (18/10 guage with straight sides) fits the heating element nicely. The lid fits about 1 1/2 inches below the lid. Contraption works well. Good luck, donna
  18. My sis is allergic to the fragrance, EOs & FOs.
