  1. Thanx for the input! It really confused me too! I wasn't really sure what they meant by resume, so I thought I would ask on here before I gave them a call. But I will be calling them to find out more info. It is a juried type show, so the pictures is definately a must. They want to make sure there is no duplicate crafts (or looks of the crafts). But I do need to find out about that resume! Thanx again!
  2. Anyone have any experience putting all of your experience in a resume format? Wanting to do a fairly large show next year (if I get accepted) and they are wanting a resume......I am drawing a blank. Would appreciate any help or ideas! Thanx bunches all!
  3. Ok, so sugar for added bubbles and salt for harder bar. Is it the same as sugar with 1 T ppo? And does it work, or will my bars be all crumbly and crap?
  4. It accellerated like a mofo and had some ricing for me. And it turns into a deep brown fairly quickly when drying. I ended up shredding mine and adding it into an unscented batch and it came out very nice. Fragrance stays good and strong!
  5. Haven't made soap in forever!!!! Lost all my notes to all my b/b stuff when I had a basement flood. Havent' did much of anything since other things were keeping me so busy. So I feel like a newbie again Have to start all over with recipes and everything....GRRRRR! At least most of my supplies made it Now for all you wonderful soapers....what is going good right now? Fragrances that is...since I will have to get some more of these I saw that some are adding salt to thier soaps, what may I ask is this for? Didn't seem like a salt bar. My last few batches from memory did have silk and sugar added, but what may I ask is the salt for if your not doing a salt bar?
  6. What kind of scale do you have? Is there a choice between oz or oz with pounds? If so then you would be able to weigh 1# 2.24 oz for the water. I ran into this problem when I first started before I got a better scale and I just rounded. I wouldn't round the lye up though, if you could weigh to the 1/2 oz, like 6.5, you would just have a more superfatted soap. What is your superfat at now? For the water, if you have a hair less, it won't hurt. What process are you doing?
  7. My vote goes here too! It is the only one that I use, and I can't keep this fragrance on the shelf!
  8. I like the idea of clear, how well do the votives fit in here? Is there alot of slop? Or do they fit fairly good without a lot of moving around? I was worrying about them getting banged up during transportation and at shows. Thanx bunches!
  9. Thank you so much for contributing But I must say....you are such a tease LOL! Right now the website is experiencing technical difficuties, so I must return later, lol! Now would you like to contribute by telling me the next winning lottery numbers? I promise to share :highfive:
  10. Anyone know where I can get single votive boxes? Tried sunshine, and a few others but didn't see them. Currently, I dont' make votives, cuz I HATE shrinkwrapping them, but I know I seen single boxes somewhere! Can anyone help me out? Pretty please?
  11. Do you have a lot of soft oils? This is a recipe and fo that you have used before and had no problems wtih it? The ONLY difference was that you tried to layer it?
  12. I have had a few batches not gel even with insulation (due to the coolness of my basement) and the bars are great, just like Eugenia said. I have noticed though that they were zappy a tad longer than the ones that I gelled. Normally, after gel I get no zap upon cutting. With the non-gelled, I got a zap for a day or so.
  13. Another vote for BCN stick umms! I love them
  14. I know it shouldn't be necessary for you to do so, however, take a pair of pliers and recrimp them so it doesn' t come loose. I understand your frustration, however C&S doesn't make these, they buy them. How many wicks did you purchase? If a lot, then I would try calling them again, and asking them if you all could work out a solution.
  15. Not a steelers fan, but boy those soaps rock! Very vivid colors, and great swirls
  16. Yummy, they look good enough to eat! Beautiful bars and swirls! Did you you cooca for your coloring too?
  17. Gorgeous! That GIT looks great, I love the rich and dark colors that you used along with the swirl, they are perfect for a guy! Great soap
  18. Very pretty, and those rosettes do look good enough to eat
  19. Looking good girl! Haven't tried the buffalo yet, cuz it smells kinda strong, does yours? Love the beef though! I am a number slut too, I just can't help myself. I have only had a few tried recipes given to me, so I have had to figure out most of them myself. I can spend hours plugging and chugging with different oils and percents :embarasse I am not real experienced, but I think the recipe looks good! I prefer a creamy lather, cuz I like a lather that keeps regenerating itself without reloading Your moisturizing looks out of this world
  20. So the plexiglass seems to be working ok for ya? Hmmm.....you could line the sides and bottom with plexiglass and then have a linerless mold I have never did anything with plexiglass, what thickness did you use, and was it expensive? Polyproplene boards that are a high density is what you are probably thinking of in lines of a cutting board. Any type of thicker plywood would work to make it with. You can get a 4x8 sheet which will make a ton of molds for around 30 or so in my area. I used some 3/4 inch oak that I had on hand and it worked out fine. The bottom is as thick as the sides, so that makes them heavy, but they work good. I cut slats in the sides and made dividers out of wood to make different sized batches. But they still need lined. But with the slats, I can fit in a drywall knife (used for compound) and it cuts it fine.
  21. Go into the file menu, and there should be a place to calibrate your printer. That may need done. then throw in some cheap paper, and try it out. Hold the cheapo paper in front of the buisness card stock, and hold up to the light, you should be able to see if it lines up ok. Another suggestion would be to move your borders in a smidge. If you run it to the outside too much, it may affect the way it turns out (I have a border around mine also). Did you use a template to lay the cards out? You may play with going in and arranging your specs to fit a tad better if needed. You may alos want to go into the view section (I think) and then click on display unprintable area, that may help ya out too!
  22. I am so ready for another road trip! It sure seems like interesting things happen when you and I are on the road or even while we are gone
  23. Yep that would be my angelic side showing. It seems that the ladies I was with was discussing a late night swim since we forgot our swim suits. And it was realized that I didn't have appropriate attire after all. Didn't realize so many peeps were interested in my undergarments. I will admit that we were completely baffled when we turned around and realized that a gentleman was in front of us. To our utter amazement, he stayed facing forward, and I am still not sure if he was actually following the conversation. He never made any noticable sign that he was. But it does seem that others were........ I dont' like items riding my rear end, but I sure am glad that everyone knows my underwear preference now :highfive: I think Debbies explanation was very good. We had some great laughs and shared some tears. We learned alot about each other, as well as tricks of the trade. She is quite accurate on her statements about what food best feeds our dogs, our generous donation to that young mans college fund, and did she mention our respect for law enforcement officers? Or how ladies should treat them awkward moments that we all have? We had plenty of serious topics, and the LET IT GO one was one of the best. We realized that it is much easier to let it go than to stay stressed and ruin our time together Friendship and good times was what our weekend was about, and I can honestly say that we mastered our goal
