  1. Their cappucinno brulee is pretty good as well.
  2. Anyone who wants just shoot me an email and I'll get it send asap! info@shawneecandles.com
  3. After trying many cinnamon FOs from many companies, I always end up with Peaks, and therefore won't go anywhere else.
  4. I have a great spreadsheet that a user sent me years ago. PM me your addy and I'll send it on its way!
  5. I know this has been posted somewhere before. But I haven't been on here in quite some time and can't seem to find it. So the IRS says you can only claim a loss 3 out of 5 business years. How many of you have had the IRS claim your business as a hobby? I have a friend who owns a business and has claimed a loss for seven years in a row! How do they decide who is business worthy and who is not? Have any of you claimed a loss in your fourth year? TIA!
  6. I can't believe he was so close to here and I didn't know it! Dang it...yes the logo looks dirty...lol. I didn't know what the heck it was until I read it was a hoof print!
  7. Ok let me start off by saying that I am a Martha Stewart junkie. That said, I do however, laugh at her when she "makes candles." Sometimes they are quite scary and definitely unprofessional. Today though she made gourd candles using real gourds and making the molds using a product from this website: http://www.smoothon.com/candle.htm Does anyone on here use this?
  8. I couldn't live without my heat gun. However the first time I used it I melted the dang cord and had to replace it! I didn't look and laid it down on it. I've made the wick smoke before but haven't lit it...yet...hee hee. I've also burned the crap out of my hand. What can I say...its a love/hate thing...lol.
  9. Unfortunately she is best friends with the head person who was also involved in the scandal. They are both small town people with even smaller minds. They treat people and act like they are in high school again. I just don't see the reasoning for that behavior. I put an insert in the paper explaining the situation and offering a discount(even though it was totally not my fault) for a future order. It was totally professional and hopefully will open a few eyes. I thanked them for their business and apologized for any inconvenience the delay might have caused.
  10. Well the whole problem is that when the sponsor was sitting on the money, or using it for her own personal items, which I believe was the case, the parents thought the candles were being made. So three weeks later the parents are irrate because they think I'm goofing off and took their money. When I get messages on my machine from parents that say they want "all their money back", they don't understand that I didn't get "all the money". Over half goes to the organization. I hardly make a penny on this fundraiser because I do it for the little girls so they can get their cheerleading uniforms so the "parents" don't have to shell out the money. No more though. Never again for this organization.
  11. Oh no, I did that. Unfortunately it was all done over the phone. Next time I will have signatures. I did this fundraiser last year without a hitch, so I assumed it would go smootly this time around too. These "adults" that are acting like children, well I really don't want or need their business anyway. Those who know me and those who purchase candles from me know that I don't do my business the way it was described. I could go as far as making copies of the contract and handing them out at their practice, it was for a youth football league, but that would only cause more problems than its worth. Plus I'm not wasting any more of my gas! Its 20 miles away, so its not local people. Its people I will hopefully never see or hear from again.
  12. I know I'll do more fundraisers but man this one really wore me out! Yes she shifted blame. She failed to tell the parents it was her fault, and naturally its easier to blame me. I have tried to explain to the parents, but she apparently got to them first, and who knows exactly what she said. I was extremely EXTREMELY tempted to go back, get my candles and return her money, then let her pull the other money out her @ss to pay the parents back.
  13. Ugghh! I just finished up a fundraiser from HELL! The lady didn't pay me until after TWO weeks after the fundraiser's end. I order the materials as soon as I am paid, candles were delivered, yes DELIVERED in six days! I have parents calling me and cussing me out because they didn't get their candles when promised by the sponsor! I try to explain, even give them a discount on future orders and they either curse me out or hang up on me! What the hell!
