  1. Not anymore-I've been out of the doll biz for a long time. Years ago I had them in quite a few stores. Glo
  2. Here are 4 dolls I just finished for a Christmas order. The lady who ordered them bought 2 from me 25 years ago when I did a lot of dolls. She tracked me down from my signature on the old doll she still had. She has 4 grandchildren now and wants a doll for each of them. Never thought I'd be doing this again but I am pleased how they turned out. The last doll is my favorite-my Grandson Mattie with his Steeler hat on. Glo
  3. Yep. Tallow is primarily from cows and lard is rendered from pig fat. You can render your own tallow if you have a source for the beef fat. Tallow & Lard make a nice hard bar of CP. Glo
  4. My main heat source is wood. I do have a large house, but have had no issues with the wood heat bothering my CP soap. My soap rack is probably 6 feet from one of our wood burners. HTH, Glo
  5. Oh I got so excited about this, I thought it was this weekend. DS birthday is the 9th, I'll be preparing for this class so maybe he will get a salt bar with a candle in it!! I can't wait for this-I never feel comfortable with my colorants-esp the micas. Will be so nice to learn how to use them properly. Glo
  6. Hey a fav of mine when I was a kid. H. R. Puff in Stuff. He was the dragon creature. The boy was Jimmy and he had the magical flute. Witchypoo was the witch (duh:laugh2: ). I love the Witchypoo candle too! Glo
  7. Wow Anne Marie-your soaps & her packaging would be an awesome site!! You know I bought a whole bunch of ribbon at Jo Annes with soap packaging in mind but couldn't quite come up with what I wanted. I was thinking along those lines but without the extra embellishments. She is quite talanted. Glo
  8. Well that is the neatest site. I love the Moose!! I also love MAine which I mention at every chance. When I win the lottery I'm moving there!! Our Backwoods Huckleberry Blues does well in Mike's Parasoy blend-he said it filled the house. Glo
  9. Hey great first soap & pic. Lovely top on the soap. Good job!! Glo
  10. Sharyl, You may find castor at a drug store or pharmacy and check your local grocer for a small container of coconut oil before you spend that $17. Holy heck your whole batch won't cost that much!! Glo
  11. My son got one from Willow Woods called Vineyard and it was a really nice scent. I'm not much of a wine expert though. Glo
  12. SLSA keeps my tub clean:grin2: Glo
  13. Hmmm, I made one of the cardvoard ones for my daughter and she loved it. Said it lasted all summer. Then I repainted it to try to "refresh" it for her and she said the refresh didn't work. Couldn't smell a thing with the refresh, so I thought they were a one time thing. Glo
  14. Don't ya just love not being able to edit!! But I must say this post and Top's question had me roaring with laughter. I needed a good laugh so thanks to you both!! Glo
  15. Beautiful set up. Clean, crisp and non cluttered. Candles are fabulous looking also. So glad your hard work paid off so well!! Glo
  16. I see an alien in the bottom front bar. Ya know one of those Pleblians. Love those swirls but must say I saw "Psycho Bars" and thought Grumpy was at it again!! Figured these would match "Acid Trip". Glo
  17. You ladies are very correct. You should get your full FO amount minus the bottle & cap weight. Every bottle we send out is weighed. It is very time consuming especially on those one ouncers but fair is fair. I can't imagine short changing by counting the bottle weight in. Glo
  18. What a wonderful idea!! Thank you Scented, and anyone else involved in thinking up these classes. I'll have to see if I have the stuff to join in, then hope I can remember to join you guys!!:undecided Glo
  19. My one & only CPOP adventure became a volcano all over the oven. Never tried it again. Tried to speed the drying of bath bombs in there once too-a beautiful batch that was perfect before the oven became a big puffed up mess of mishapen bombs. I tend to stay away from the oven now. Glo
  20. Dirtybird, I don't know if this will work for you or not but when I've had one start to go fast on me I've microwaved it and got it soft again. Try just a little first and see if it does anything for you. Glo
  21. Interesting Scented. Now that you mention it I did make my own batch this summer and don't remember any discoloration in the Pepperberry for me either. My original results from our testers mentioned discoloring to a tan. Guess this would be a good mistake though-better than if I said it didn't and it did. I'm wondering if anyone else thinks that individual results vary with the soapmakers recipes-kind of like when chandlers use different waxes? I don't think I've ever read any posts to this effect but I've been thinking along these lines for some time with the testing we do and reading some peoples results here on candletech. I've read about acceleration with our Sea Salt Breeze and yet I've soaped it many times and never had a problem. Also noted a post of weak scent throw in Tropical Fusion and made my own just to see (our original line I did not test them all myself-had outside testers do it) and my TF does have a throw, sold it at my last craft show. I don't think anyone would have bought it if they couldn't smell it. Anyway to end my book here LOL, what is anyone elses opinion on individual CP soap recipes affecting the fragrance performance?? Glo Oh, PS: I did soap the Huckleberry Blues and while it had a phenomenal scent throw of pure berry in my recipe, it did discolor a very dark brown for me.
  22. What about a cucumber or mint scent with the apple. Or even an ocean scent & that would be your "water" part?? Glo
