  1. Following the advice on this board, I use polypro bags. I believe if you are using regular ziplock bags from the grocery, those are polyethylene, which tend to "suck" the scent out. There is a lot of info in the archives about this subject, including where one can purchase polypro bags, as well as other containers to store tarts in. I get my bags from GTBag.com,(ultra clear) but I don't recall that they have gallon size. I believe a friend of mine gets hers from uline.com . Also, I make paraffin, not soy if that makes a difference. HTH!
  2. Does anybody know if they are still in business? I have a question and cannot get a return phone call or email. Perhaps they have a different number or email addy I can get hold of them by? TIA
  3. My pots have not flaked either after 4 years. I only melt wax, then transfer to pouring pot with a high temp plastic measuring cup to add fo and color, so no utensils for stirring. Oh, and mine do not have spouts on them, I wonder if that has anything to do with flaking?
  4. The soap is beautiful, and the photo is great!
  5. Oh, how I needed a good laugh, thanks Ravens!
  6. It does say within the tutorial "*Not safe to use with traditional candles", but they sure are cute.
  7. Congratulations, I love hearing success stories!
  8. Cynthia 3030, those are nice. I found the younger crowd likes the bling, so I glitter my votive cups, it does add texture and color, and for whatever reason they sell, especially during the holidays.
  9. I ran across that f/o at http://wickswares.com/ hth!

    Molds

I let my wax cool to between 135 - 140. Anything higher and the mold starts warping. hth!

    Molds

Yes, I use the clear plastic molds, especially for seasonal, i.e. pumpkins, leaves, Christmas trees, etc. Just make sure you let your wax cool and they won't warp, I have had mine for 3 years, and they are inexpensive enough to replace if by chance they do warp.
  16. Here is a candle bowl, but I never could find lids, hth. http://www.jarstore.com/14-oz-Libbey-Candle-Bowl_p_66.html
  17. I have ordered a few f/o's from Cierra. Pumpkin Cornbread is very strong, I use 4%pp and blend. I just ordered a sample of Frasier fir (Thymes type), oob smells very good. Oatmeal Milk Honey was good in m&P. Buttercream was pretty standard in comparison to other vendors. Customer service is excellent, ordered on Friday, received pkg on Monday! They use flat rate whenever possible. hth
