  1. Don't know why that be the cause?? I mix lye about once a month 1-2 gal at a time, use rt oils and add fo to the oils before the lye. Never noticed any difference in the soap
  2. Spa's charge an outrageous price to set in a tub full of mud:laugh2: Don't think the small amount used in a bath would do anything but turn the water muddy. I have some balneo peat and added some to the wife's bath once, she liked the effect on her skin, but was put off by the dark brown n water:shocked2: Never underestimate the power of label appeal

  6. The mud from kangarooblue comes in a pouch. I am leary of mud in tubs or jars. I got a bucket awhile back that had an fo added (baby powder) and when added to soap it turned brown. Also had more water in it. Kb's mud is thick and creamy.

  10. The hard oils will probably be solid. I divide mine into container for 1 batch each. Pop in the micro for 2 minutes and make soap. Be sure to stir well before dividing

  12. There is nothing that will have the benifits of squalane. That said, any light oil will work I use squalane a lot
  13. Sounds like they have deflated some and the color is most likely the fo. If they are not emilsified butters there should be no funkies. No water, no funkies:D
  14. I would go with 100% coconut 8-10% superfat and apply shea at the end of the day If you look around you'll find different sap values for coconut. There have been several test using the lower sap w/100% coconut that weren't drying at all
  15. well, cosmetic grade is not for consumption. I would rather have an oil that is food grade:D
  16. Some people do find it irritating, but it is the mildest surfactant of that type

  20. Call riceland, ask for Central stores, tell them you want pure RBO for soaping in the 5 gal jug, cost w/shipping is around $30 to me in KY. That works out to $6 gal or $.86#
  21. RA is fantastic! I have used several oils (premium grade) and have no complaints. These oils are used at 1.9% max.in soaps,less in lotions:D
