  1. Once saponification is complete, there is no lye in the soap. The oils are reacted with lye, but it is all used up.
  2. I think the quality of the fo makes a difference. For example, I have love spell from 2 different suppliers #1 I use 1 oz ppo in soap #2 I use 1 oz for 3.5# recomended usage rate 1.9 percent Actually #2 smells stronger.

  4. What are the ingredients? I use cyclo/fco. My cost per gallon of base is around $65( inluding shipping). Definately cheaper to make it yourself, that would be around 45% profit margin.
  5. That is why I started added the fo to the oils before the lye. You can see it speed up and still handle it.

  9. It can be there for several reasons. For the trace minerals to thicken the product Have you ever felt Dead sea brine? It feels oily and isn't the least bit drying
  10. I use 70% cyclo, 20% FCO, and 10% FO

  14. They are different combinations of cyclo and dimethicone with differences in "feel" If you were wanting just Cyclo, Dow Corning 345 is the best
  15. You should cool quickly, stirring often until it brgins to thicken. Put in jars and continue cooling
  16. I like 2 oz low profile jars for whipped shea. Net wt. 1.2 oz
  17. Grainy butters are usually the result of slow cooling. The use of an ice bath, or a few minutes in the freezer then whip and repeat. The cooling should be as even as possible

  19. Pine tar soap!! I had a few "spots" that itched constantly, no rash or visible signs of why. Since I made the soap and have been using it, no itch! This has also worked for several freinds
