  1. Oh boy...this is not the thread I needed to read- what are the symptons? maybe I have it I am a one of "those" that reads side effects and get everyone of them- even if I felt fine before reading them! LOL I have never heard of those diseases but I sure hope not- I love my soy!
  2. I think that is a fabulous idea because now I am going to drive myself crazy wondering if something else is better to- dont get me wrong I am not sure how I feel about totally giving up 464- I love it, but I am really getting more curious also and most places are a 10 lb bag and if you dont like it your stuck!
  3. Okay- I may be jumping the gun here but....WOW I lit my testers in 415 with Peaks Winter Wonderland and I cannot believe the throw! I thought I had great throw going on with 464 but this is much more pronounced and goes further through the house I made hazelnut vanilla also but need to finish wonderland first Now I am really confused...do I re-test everything I have done and basically start over- this is crazy I did add beeswax to it in all the research I did on the wax being known for horrible tops and I used cdn wicks and second burn they are looking great so far and the smell is awesome...this is one FO I had a hard time throwing in 464 in a container- had to be in a smaller room to smell it
  4. Ditto IwantItgreen- Peaks Winter Wonderland- Cracklin Birch is amazing also BUT for me....I cannot get it to throw strong in a candle for nothing! I still keep trying but only have it in wax melts right now. I use soy (464) so maybe you will have better luck than me if you try that one
  5. I know nothing about embeds but I think it looks good! The container is a very cute/unique idea
  6. Sparkling Poinsettas is the only christmas scent I have tried from there and its good- different but it is growing on me
  7. ooops- missed that part- saw ecosoya pb in the beginning and thought she bought the same at a garage sale
  8. I heat PB to 180 and I do not use additives but do blend a little other soy in with it 1st pour I do at 155 2nd pour after center has started to congeal I pour at 140 I use wick pins and never had a problem... until yesterday- when I removed them from the molds (warm as Stella suggests) and gently tap the pin to pull it out- the bottom of the votive breaks....I am not doing anything different that I am aware of so maybe something in the wax itself has changed??? I dont make alot of votives but this case is brand new, but you said yours is from over the summer- not sure what could be causing this but I just poured another batch to see if it happens again!
  9. LOL! It knew you cheated! I do love 464 but am getting frustrated with wicking it due to having to use 9% FO to get excellent HT- I have about 15 scents perfected but would like a similar wax that I can use more like the norm...6 to 7 % and get great HT I poured Blue Spruce and Hazelnut Vanilla and the tops are perfect and cold throw awesome- fingers crossed the rest turns out great!
  10. Thats what I hear alot of people say about the throw which on CS it claims 464 out does all other soy- I have to wait a couple of days before I burn it but the tops are perfect and the cold throw is very good- I hope the rest is good to- I want to be able to use less FO and have great HT!
  11. Peaks: Tall Grass Amish Harvest Red Currant Red Clove Pear Spice Sage & Lemongrass Bayberry Black Canyon Peppermint Downy Cranberry Marmalade Winter wonderland- my favorite!! tahitian village Lemon pound cake (smells just like fruit loops or fruity pebbles) nag champa mulberry NG: Cranberry Spice Cracklin Birch Christmas Splendor Log Cabin Butt Naked Monkey Farts Autumn Magic Thats I all I can think of that I tried from there so far I use soy and they all throw great except birch is hard in a candle for me- great in a tart!
  12. For the first time last night I poured a few testers in 415- I have been using 464 for a long time but the curiosity of some people saying the throw is better in 415 got me wondering...is this wax the one you have always used? I cant wait to hear your feedback and I am amazed you poured that many in one day! I need to learn how to start a fire under my ass to get going like that! LOL
  13. I know you re-did your math but if it comes up in the future...I do have some that are higher priced My EO candles are labeled the same but with "Essentials" in a different color on top of the label A couple FO's that are way pricier I have labeled "Signature Scent" in a different color I have not had a complaint about it and I have a few people that buy the pricier ones regularly- mind you I only have a small area setup within our office that houses our other business's and I do not advertise yet...everything so far is walk-ins from the our other business and word of mouth so I do not have a huge customer base yet if that makes a difference
  14. I couldnt get HT out of that one either- CS Brandied Pear
  15. If you cant get it anymore you can try Peaks Spiced Pear- I love it!
  16. It does make a big difference in experience tealight warmer vs. electric warmer- I would try them in an electric warmer and see what you think What percent FO are you using?- I use 135/PB blend myself and can get 2 days of good scent out of mine (not on during the night) I heat to 185, add FO at 170 and pour at 140 most of my warmers are electric plate type and when I do use a light bulb kind I use a 40watt bulb
  17. Out of all of them I liked the Fresh Linen the best- but I switched to CS's Clean cotton, Beach Linen and also Peaks Downy Fresh So if your ordering from NG anyway try that one out and see what you think- I thought april clean was to light and laundromat I just plain didnt like but they had another one that was good to- gain something I thought, I liked that one also
  18. Hi Jonsie I have always used 40/42 angustifola BUT in CB135 soy wax at 6%- excellent Hot and Cold throw with CD wicks I use 464 in all of my other container candles but for me this wax does not cut it with pure EO- I have found with all EO's I use (geranium rose, lemongrass, peppermint eucalyptus, patchouli, citronella, neroli, rosemary, cypress and lavender) that 135 way out performs the 464- I buy all mine from either Mountain Rose Herbs or snowdrift Farm online I hope that helps some and hopefully in Australia you can get your hands on CB135 to give it a try!
  19. I have noticed a huge difference in how long they last electric vs. tealight Mine burn way strong for less time in a tealight warmer(but mind you I sometimes put a votive under it because mine is a tall one and tealights sometimes cannot melt it)- I get maybe half a day out of it In an electric warmer I can get 2 solid days (not on during the night) out of most scents and they are strong enough to be noticed but not overwhelming I use a blend of 2 different soy waxs and am always wondering how to get super strong for many days out of them! just not possible I don't think I used to burn yankees all the time and I would have to change the scent by the end of the day or 8ish hours for sure- got waxy smelling and no scent left so I dont think I am doing that bad to get a couple days out of them
  20. The ones I have made so far have not sat long enough to know yet- I don't generally see frost in my container candles until after at least a month and I dont color them so the ones that do get it are hardly noticeable. What I have noticed is after each burn the candle resets smoother, not so much crater look and white lines from where the melted wax met the solid- HT throw is great so far but not sure if the beeswax has any effect on that and the burn has slowed some- I am seeing not quite as deep of melt pool using the same wicks as 464 with no beeswax which I am hoping will eliminate some of the issues with some getting the container to warm half way thru
  21. Thank you so much for the info- I am liking it so far and will experiment with it a little more!
  22. Ditto to IwantItgreen....It is very strong in soy and smells just like a candy cane to me- I do not add anything to it
  23. That I am not sure about- Stella directed me to Southwest Candle Supply and that is where I purchase from- That would be a good question for Stella as she knows alot about the CDN wicks
  24. and if you dont mind telling where you got those tins?
