  1. I am no pro and still learning as I move forward but for me....the ECO would have to go-holy flame. I tried for months to make them work as candlescience recommends them with this wax but I had no luck at all with them AND they turned my wax a nasty deep yellow greasy color BUT maybe a 8 would work if you like these wicks The CD 10 looks very similar to how mine burn but I get a little better flame ...I do not use as high of a FO load as you which could be one of the many reasons How is the HT for you with the CD10...will be interesting to see how it goes and ends up closer to the end of the candle- it looks like its coming along nicely
  2. Your welcome- and that is a huge bummer you cant get that wax having the market for EO Candles- it really does a nice job The market in my area is.....what can I get for free??? LOL $$ is not plentiful around here to ask his prices Good luck and hopefully you can eventually get your hands on 135
  3. Thanks NaturallyTru for posting those links! Those are pretty cool black and gold....would fit in pretty well with primitive look I think
  4. I use 464- but I use the 8 ounce square mason jar and for me the CD12's always end up getting the glass way to hot half way thru the candle...doesnt mean it will for you but I have only a few I use the 12 with (super heavy impossible FO's) 10's are usually what works best but even then the glass will sometimes get to hot with this size- I have never tried a 8 being that the 10 will sometimes start out way to slow and weak- but I am now starting to test with the CDN's and so far I am finding that the CDN 10 is a littler hotter than the CD 10 also I started with 12% FO load which is way to much- you could try backing your load down to 8 or 9% and see if you still get good HT and the burn improves
  5. I did not have any luck with throw in a candle with LS either- tarts were okay huge difference in tarts with wsp so far so I will let you know this evening how the first burn is going... For your yank dupe customers- their vanilla oak, withches brew and dune grass are amazing as well in tarts...still need to make test candles in those ones
  6. Are you testing these with soy or paraffin? The reason I ask is because I get great results with pure EO using CB135 at 6%
  7. CB advanced in my opinion is not designed for great HT- it looks good but doesnt smell. I used it for a short time as well and then moved on to cb135, which is a great wax and I am now using 464. Much better HT but it has its quirks to- you are probably best to decide what is most important to you in a candle and research what suits best and stick with it for awhile to learn about it and play with temps and fo loads and wicks
  8. I do not do soap but in wax melts it its amazing (very strong and lasts forever) and I have the candle curing to test- should be ready tomorrow and I will let you know how it does- I use soy wax
  9. I do not make soap but I would say yes from a customer perspective.... even though the ingredients are there for you- you are the one hand melting and pouring and doing whatever else is needed- no different in my opinion than making cookies verses buying them I dont hand make my wax in candles but I certainly considered them hand made and poured I say go with it (insert big smiley) I dont know why I cant access them now
  10. I love autumn Lodge- the retired yank scent It totally reminds me of grandpas pipe and the best I have found so far is wsp (I know-expensive and shipping inflation) but it is really really good Lonestar has it also and it is good but not as dead on as wsp
  11. I ordered a sample of scent works- I will let you know how it is when it comes
  12. THose are so cool- I have been looking for months for a copper tin to go with my square mason with rust lid- and I love the black Let us know what you find out
  13. Have you used or considered Elelments Bath & Body? They have a quite a few good ones that match the description of what your looking for and I think they ship international I love the Rocky Mountain Christmas- very woody with pine Downpour, waterfall and amazon teakwood are very nice They have one called Sahara that I have not tried yet but shows a picture of the desert If your ever looking for a rose- sensous black rose is amazing green Irish tweed, patchouli honey, flowerbomb are some of the others I use- I have had great results with throw in 464 and customer service is amazing BCN is a great supplier also but I cannot think of any that I have used that would describe what your looking for
  14. 1/2 ounce of Rose Essential Oil is $388.00- If they are indeed using pure essential oils and rare ones for some, they have no choice but to be expensive My kids watch that show Keeping up with the Karadashins and I saw part of the one about the Kim and Kris Wedding and they were in a store picking out their own blend of Fragrance for their wedding candles- I wonder if this was the company This is definitely a company that targets people who can spend alot of money- It got me intrigued enough to want to buy one and see for myself what they are like but 50.00 will buy me enough supplies to make a dozen or more candles of my own...with plain old FO I didnt see where or if they stated what type of wax they use- soy or paraffin or a blend....
  15. I am thinking a sage fragrance would be great with vanilla cinnamon- I am still trying to find a dupe of YK Holiday Sage and it has some of those notes in it
  16. Cracklin Birch is B**** to wick and get HT for me! LOL I just re-poured it again and went with CDN wicks on it and hope it works- I LOVE that scent and its one of the ones that sell out first in melts! I think this is one I will have to cut back the FO if it doesnt work this time
  17. I poured Elements Rocky Mountain Christmas over the weekend and it is amazing!! I LOVE Mistletoe and Blue Spruce from CS but I am really- really liking this one alot!!
  18. Candybee- I am mixing the potion tonight! I am so happy I found a sample for the Mulberry and I have and use Amish Harvest already- I cannot wait to try it! Thanks for sharing
  19. It is very similar- only lacking the cheesecake note which I didnt think that was prominent enough to really make a huge difference- It is a good strong blueberry however I see they now have the blueberry cheesecake ice cream- may have to try that!
  20. CD7 is what I would start with in soy- I have never used parasoy so not sure how wicks compare
  21. For me I use different waxes for different "types" of products. For container candles I use 464 straight up (thinking about a little beeswax to possibly help with frosting) but when I started with containers I used CB135- still not totally sure why I switched but I did and I am now to far into testing to go back For my wax melts I did use 464 with PB- in all my reading on this forum it was for the reason of being able to get a better HT and hold more FO- well I didnt care for the looks of it- it frosted alot so I switched to CB 135 and PB and that is working perfect for me For votives same thing only more PB than 464 and I recently switched to CB135 for those as well and love the results In containers if I cannot get a good HT along with good burn I table it and continue on- those ones that I absolutely LOVE and HAVE to have I am willing to try in a different wax to hopefully achieve good results (I am trying those in C3) and if that doesnt work, well then I have to give it up- but I always stick with the same types of wicks- CD, HTP and now CDN
  22. DITTO- I have tried so many grapefruits and CS is the best IMO so far and has great HT...in soy anyway
  23. Lilac Wild Currant Sandalwood Pink Sugar Cinnamon Nutmeg and Clove Cranberry Orange They had a Blueberry Cheesecake I dont see anymore that was wonderful so I switched to My Mamas Blueberry Cobbler and that is good Red Mac Apple is amazing I have lots of samples to test still with them but these are the ones I cannot go without so far
  24. When you say votive glass do you mean this? you are pouring a container candle in a votive holder? I have never done this but I make Votives to burn in these with 464/PB and I use HTP and CD wicks- Htp 41 and 52 and CD 4 and 5 are what always work for me- it may be slighlty different using straight 464 and pouring right into the glass but this could be a good starting point for you to try out
